Description
An inviting canopy bed, fit for a king.

Canopy bed is a piece of furniture that when inside a house lets you sleep in it, to gain sleep bonus for double skill gain.

Usage
As furniture, a canopy bed may be used as a decoration in addition to the uses described below.

Sleeping
You can logout in canopy bed, accumulating useful sleep bonus the longer you are offline. Right-click the bed and select 'Bed' > 'Sleep'.

* A canopy bed can only be slept on if it is inside a completed house. Otherwise the following message will display in your event window: block
* To find out if a bed is available or who is sleeping in it, examine it. If the bed is occupied, it will say:
* After the sleeper has accumulated the maximum sleep bonus (5 hours), the bed will be automatically freed up for other players to sleep in.
* If the canopy bed is not on your own deed, there will be a 60 second timer for sleeping in it.
* Sleeping damages a canopy bed, regardless of the house being on a deed or not.

Renting
If you have manage item permissions of the house, you can rent beds to other players for coins, making it possible to earn money by running an inn.

Right-click the bed and Select 'Bed' > 'Rent 10 iron' coins, 'Rent 25 iron', 'Rent 50 iron', 'Rent 1 copper', 'Rent 10 copper', 'Rent 1 silver', 'Rent 10 silver', or 'No rent'.

If you rent yourself a bed, the money will be withdrawn from your inventory and you will then logout to sleep.

Creating
* The quality of the head board affects the success chance when creating.
* The bed frame is damaged if you fail.
* Wood type is determined by the last wooden piece added.
* Beds can only be started inside a house. It does not have to be a finished house though. You could also build a new house around an existing bed.
* A bed cannot occupy the same tile as another bed or storage bin. It can share a tile with a forge or oven.
* You can use furs larger than what the bed needs. When you add a fur, it will use one kilogram and give you back the rest.

Total materials required
* 25x planks
* 4x shafts
* 4x small nails
* 3x large nails
* 8x cotton sheets (1.50 kg each)
* 8x furs (1.00 kg each)

Notes
* Skill Requirement: Fine Carpentry 65.
* Can not be picked up by hand.
* Can be loaded into a Rowing boat, Large cart, or anything bigger.
* Able to have items placed on it.
In order to catch fish you must "click" the water once your event tab says "You feel something nibble on the line". You are then skillchecked and proceed to reel in the fish or miss the fish.
Lore
To discover what species of Fish you'll be able to fish on a given water tile, activate any fishing tool in your inventory then right-click the tile and select Lore from the menu. The Lore function, as it relates to fishing, is a little like the Prospecting function in Mining, in that you will receive more information about the tile, including the type of tile and its depth in metres, if you have a higher fishing skill. Different fishing tools will reveal different information. Using Lore does not appear to increase fishing skill.

Known data points revealed by the Lore function include:

* The most-common species of fish you're likely to catch on this tile. This info is available at even very low fishing skill.
* The type of tile: pond, lake, lake shallows, sea, or sea shallows. This info requires a higher fishing skill to reveal (works at 88 skill, but more testing is needed to establish the minimum threshold).
* The depth in metres of the tile. This info requires a higher fishing skill to reveal (works at 88 skill, but more testing is needed to establish the minimum threshold).
* What other species of fish may be caught on the tile, if any. This requires skill of ~29.
* Whether your rod is currently baited. This info requires a higher fishing skill to reveal (works at 88 skill, but more testing is needed to establish the minimum threshold).

Rod fishing
# Right-click on a tile or boat > Start fishing
# A timer begins for casting. Cast by moving the mouse. When the circle is not red, left-click to cast at that spot.
# A 2nd timer starts (3 minutes). During this time, the following can happen:
* After a delay, a fish will appear and swim to the hook where it will take a bite (the float bobs up and down as well as the line moves). A splashing sound can be heard if your sound is turned on.
* You have a limited time to try to hook the fish (by left-clicking anywhere on the screen).
* If you manage to hook a fish it will try to get away, during this time you may see the fish moving away from or closer to you. It is helpful to swivel right or left to create tension on your line, essentially try to keep it taut pulling opposite direction of the fish.
** If the fish gets too far away, it will escape.
** If the fish gets close to you, it will be caught.
** There is a possibility for the rod to break (actually the rod stays with you but you lose the reel and anything in it).
** There is a possibility for the line to snap (you will lose anything that was on the line as well).
*If you tried and failed to hook the fish, your fishing session is over.
*If you did not try to hook the fish, it will swim away, and after a delay another will turn up.

Spear fishing
# Right-click on a tile > Start fishing
# A timer will start, waiting for fish to arrive.
*A fish will appear and slowly swim fairly close to you. It will pass just in front of you.
*You can try to spear it by launching your spear or long spear (e.g. left-click) near the fish.
**If you hit it, you catch a fish.
**If you miss it, it will swim away. It’s also possible to hit your own foot!
*If you decide to leave the fish alone, it will swim on past. Once out of range after a delay a new fish should turn up.

Net fishing
# Right-click on a tile > Start fishing
# A timer will start, waiting for fish to arrive.
*The net will sway on screen and no other action is required.
** Nets will need to be emptied once a item is caught.

Equipment
You will need a fishing pole or rod, equipped with a fishing reel, fishing line, float and hook.
You can also catch small fish using a fishing net.

A tackle box can help keep your accessories organized.

Fishing poles and rods have less chance of breaking if they are made of willow. Rods made of lemon or orange do not have any effect on fishing success chance.

Fishing Reels
There are four types of fishing reels, which are used for catching different types of fish:
Light fishing reel
Medium fishing reel
Deep water fishing reel
Professional fishing reel

Fishing reels are added to rods so that they can be used for fishing. A fishing reel holds up to 1 line (which in turn may contain other things), and may be placed in a rod. Fishing reels will take damage from use, with rare fishing reels taking less damage.

Rare reels also make it easier to reel the fish in.
Handles
Different handles are used when making certain reels, they are:
Handle - same item as current in-game version.
Leather wound handle - same item as current in-game version
Reinforced handle
Padded handle

Fishing Line
Basic fishing line - used on pole, may only contain a (wood or metal) hook
Light fishing line - used on light fishing reel, used to catch smaller fish
Medium fishing line - used on medium fishing reel, used to catch medium fish
Heavy fishing line - used on deep water fishing reel, used to catch large fish
Braided fishing line - used on professional fishing reel, used to catch ‘special’ fish

Floats
Floats has to be added to lines, to be able to see when a fish can be hooked. There are 4 types of float:

Feathers - part of butchered loot from rooster, pheasant and hen.
Twig - found on bush tiles.
Small moss - taken from moss. Cut a piece of moss with a carving knife.
Bark - found on overaged birch trees, with any item activated

Floats will take damage over time when used, and will need replacing from time to time. They will auto-replace from the same float type in the tackle box at the end of a fish action.
Rare floats will take less damage.

Hooks
Hooks are added to lines to catch fish. There are 3 types of hook:
Wooden fishing hook - same as current item, better for fly fishing
Metal fishing hook - same as current item, better for deep water / sea fishing
Bone fishing hook - made from goblin skulls

Hooks behave as a container, which may contain bait, and will take damage over time as they are used. They will be auto-replaced using the same hook type from the tackle box at the end of fish action if necessary; if a hook is replaced, the bait will not be auto-replaced.
Rare hooks are better at keeping a fish on the hook.

Wood type will affect how fast a fish turns up. The default is a modifier of 1, and each wood type modifier is additive to the default, so creating the right hook can nearly halve the time for a fish to turn up. The lower the modifier % in the chart below, the quicker the interval of time in which the fish turns up, i.e. the more effective the hook. (Example: Lemon/Orange is the preferred wood type for quickest results).

Wood Type !! Modifier
Cedar || 90%
Fir || 85%
Pine || 95%
Lemon and Orange || 75%
Apple || 80%
Oleander || 80%

Bait
When used on a hook, baits increase the chance of catching a particular fish. There are 12 types of bait:
Fly - You catch these using a pottery jar with a bit of honey in it, on animals that require grooming.
Small piece of cheese - Cheese Broken into smaller pieces.
Dough ball - a small ball of dough.
Wurm - Found on dirt and mycelium tiles.
Sardines - Caught using fishing nets in shallows.
Roach - Caught in shallow waters.
Perch - Caught in shallow waters.
Minnow - Caught in caves.
Bit of fish - Small fish chopped up.
Grub - Found in shrivelled trees, prised out using an awl.
Grain of wheat - from wheat!
Corn kernel - from corn.

Each time a fish bites on a baited line, the bait will take damage (e.g. the fish eats a bit of it). Bait is not required to catch fish (i.e. you can catch fish without bait), but the chances are a lot lower. Different fish prefer different bait.

General Attributes of Fish Types
All fish now have a set of attributes which determine where and when they are more likely to be caught:

Preferred water type (lake, sea, etc)
Minimum and maximum depth.
Feeding height.
Rod types.
Time of day - some fish like to feed in the morning, afternoon, evening or even at night
Baits - each fish has a favorite bait, some baits it likes, others it is less likely to eat, and some it will never touch.
Outside or in caves - some fish are only found underground
Special fish can only be caught on special tiles (which are out at sea).

Types of Fish Harvestable Through Fishing
For more detailed information see Fish.

Note - Not all marine life in Wurm is catchable with a fishing rod. Marine life falling into this category must be killed in combat or die on its own in order to be harvested from the sea: Octopus, Seal, Blue whale, Shark_(creature), Crab, Dolphin, Sea serpent.

Special Fishing Tiles
In certain locations, far out at sea, one can find what are known as "special fishing tiles". These tiles are special because of their relatively low number Wurm-wide as well as the special types of fish which can be found there.

* Special fishing tiles will move with the seasons and provide different fish. This occurs at the beginning of a season change.
* Non-special fish types may be caught on special tiles, but special fish can only be caught on special tiles, and a lesser chance if close to a center spot.
* These areas can overlap, so its possible to find places where two special fish can be caught.
* Aside from blind searching and perhaps some luck, a Lurker in the deep pendulum can be used to locate these special tiles.
* Special fishing tiles can disappear if the terrain around them is modified.

Rarity in Fishing
* Rare rolls occur at the "Something Bites" event message: <br />inline<br />

* At lower skill, you may lose these fish more often than at higher skill levels. These fish are also slightly heavier than a regular fish of the same quality level and species.

* Rare fish can be used in meals, but they will not make the meal rare.

* Butchering rare fish will not give rare fillets.

Notes
* Rods and poles can be stored in a fishing rod rack

* Fish can be stored in water using a Fish keep net to reduce decay

* Catching heavier fish comes with a higher chance of line breakage.

* Some shore fish can also be caught out in ocean waters, usually at a higher quality than they would be found closer to shore.

* Typically, lighter fish are much easier to catch at high quality, with q50+ roach and perch not being uncommon for even a beginning fisher.

* You can get better fish in deeper water. This water depth is the same depth that first triggers the "Out to Sea" achievement.

* Larger fish start giving less than 1 fillet per 0.3 kg, and cap at 50 fillets per fish. This max cap tends to occur at around the 15 kg mark, but is also thought to be possibly related to the butchering skill.

* Willow rods take less damage from catching heavy fish.

* Skill gain only happens on successfully hooking, or when the fish gets reeled in or otherwise catching a fish

* Fishing is close to impossible in small pools (less than 4x4) of water.

* It is possible to fish underground and inside of caves, but the available species of fish found here will be limited.

* Fishing can be done while moving, so long as you do not move too far away (two tiles) from the tile you are currently working on.

* The higher the quality of the fish, the more weight the fish will have. Each species has a weight-to-quality ratio. For example, a high quality roach will likely never outweigh any quality of catfish.

Skills & Characteristics
* Nature > Fishing
* Soul > Soul depth

Titles
* Fisherman/Fisherwoman at 50 skill
* Angler at 70 skill
* Kingfisher at 90 skill
* Hooked on Fishing at 100 skill
Walking on Slate slabs is the fastest way of travelling (up to 17.3Km/h). Slate slabs can only be removed or terraformed by a player with 20 Body strength. Paving with slate slabs is fairly difficult compared to other pavements due to the simple fact that it requires slate slab.

Creation
* Сan be made of any metal (see images below). See brazier bowl recipe list in-game.
* brazier bowl must be at least glowing from hot while creation.
* brazier stand may not be hot.
* brazier bowl determines resulting material.
* Can be continued while in the inventory or on the ground.
* Quality of the brazier stand affects creation chance, brazier bowl quality has no effect.
* brazier bowl is damaged on a failure to create, brazier stand is damaged on a failure to attach.

Notes
* Braziers may be powered by olive oil or tar (0.13kg).
* Lamps can be bashed off deed as well as picked up if they have 70+ dmg and/or are 10 quality and below.
* Braziers are stationary light sources that require higher skill and more materials than street lamps. They can be planted much like a sign and can be picked up by the planter only.
* You need 10 digging skill to plant a lamp, and the lamp must have at least 10 effective quality.
* Planted lamps that fall below 10 effective quality due to decay or other damage become unplanted, and can be picked up normally.
* There's no limit to how many decorative lamps you can plant.
* When planted on a deed, braziers will be automatically lit during night and unlit during the day. They respond to manual control though, and when snuffed, will stay dark at night. This is also true after planting, so you need fuel to light them the first time. On-deed lamps do not need refueling.
* Will fit inside a non-runed mailbox.
Description
An enchanted tree is a tree or bush which has been altered by the Meditation Path of Love ability 'Enchant'. Once enchanted, they will no longer grow or age; if they were sprouting at the time of enchantment, the sprout will remain on the tree but cannot be picked. Like enchanted grass, an enchanted tree tile provides a healing bonus to all wounds when standing on it.

Sometimes you may need an item activated in order to receive the 'Enchant' option.

Notes
* Acts as a potency 4 healing cover when stood on.
* Enchanted thorn bushes do not deal damage when walked through.
* Enchanted fruit trees or bushes cannot be harvested.
* Sprouts cannot be picked from enchanted trees.
* Cannot be foraged or botanized.
* Enchanted trees do not age.
** This includes being immune to the effects of Wild growth.
* Cutting down an enchanted tree changes the tile to enchanted grass.
* Enchanted trees can be removed by the Vynora´s spell Ice pillar which will convert the tile to tundra or by Magranon´s spell Fire pillar which will convert the tile to sand. Success chance is very low.
* A trap can be placed on an enchanted tree tile, but only on PVP servers.
* The Enchant ability has an 18 hour cooldown.
Description
Blood from special creatures is said to have magic enchanting powers. This came from the <creature type>

Blood from unique creatures can be mixed with source salt to create potions that when applied to tools -- a process known as "imbuing" -- grant that tool a bonus to gathering or improving.

Notes
*0.10 kg of blood is given to all premium characters in local when a unique is slain, whether or not you attacked the creature or landed a blow.
*Blood is not treated as a liquid by the game so it does not have to be held within a container.
*The effect gradually wears off with use. The greater the strength of imbuement, the longer the effects will last.
*Dispel will remove imbues from a tool, so use caution.
* Failure to create a potion or ointment will consume both the blood and the source salt.
* Salve of frost and potion of acid are disabled on Defiance server. Alternate potions are noted below.

Creatures and potions
*Goblin leader - Potion of mining
*Kyklops - Potion of leatherworking
*Red dragon - Potion of ropemaking
*Red dragon hatchling - Oil of the weapon smith
*White dragon hatchling - Salve of frost/ Oil of the blacksmith on Defiance

Imbuing
In order to imbue an item with potion you must activate the potion, right click the item, and choose "Alchemy > Imbue".

*The entire potion is consumed upon imbuement of an item.

*Potion quality has the largest effect the strength of the potion's imbuement, while skill in natural substances has a lesser effect.

*A single tool can be imbued by more than one type of ointment/potion imbue, e.g. blacksmithing and weaponsmithing both on one tool.

Skill imbuement
Potions of a particular skill, such as a Fletching potion or Ointment of stonecutting will improve the results of using those skills in various ways:
* Better results in item creation. When creating items with an imbued tool, quality of results will be better on average, but will still have a maximum quality equal to that of the material.
* Higher quality resources. When gathering raw materials with an imbued tool, quality of materials will be better on average, and can therefore be higher than normal maximum quality based on skill and ore vein quality.
* Better item improvement. When improving an item with an imbued tool, the item will gain more quality and can be improved to a higher quality than your skill level would normally allow.

Examining the imbued tool will show: It has been imbued with special abilities, and it improves (one of the following depending on type: [leather working, carpentry, mining, etc]) max ql [0-100]
A round small glass orb with a faintly shining liquid. It is commonly used by miners to create cave-ins.

Notes
* A shaker orb is used to collapse cave tiles, like the Strongwall spell. It is available in the Silver shop for 4 silver coins. It is a one-use item.
* Shaker orb can instantly collapse a single cave tile. It can be used both inside a cave to collapse a tile underground, as well as on the surface to close a cave entrance.
* Cave tiles that are reinforced by support beams CAN NOT be collapsed due the supported tile not being empty. Tile being supported is full of rock. The cave tile next to a supported cave tile can be collapsed. This does not remove the support beam from the supported cave tile. The cave tile with support beams is still there, and when the cave tiles next to it are mined out, the support beamed tile will still be there with the support beam intact.
* The shaker orb can be used to collapse an empty tile that has both a support beamed rock tile on the right and on the left of the empty tile being collapsed. The support beamed tiles are still there, and they are not removed.
* There is NO confirmation box - so make sure you collapse the correct tile or you could end up paying for another one!!
* Can be purchased from the Silver shop for 4 Silver coins or obtained in the Marks shop for 6000 Marks.
* Can be mailed.
Description
A bed made from some grasses.

Creation
* Straw beds can be started, finished, and placed outside a building (or brought into a building).
* The straw bed does not have a 'wood type'.

Usage
The straw bed cannot be used outside. It needs to be inside a building with all walls completed to use.

Sleeping
* You can logout in bed, accumulating useful sleep bonus the longer you are offline. Right-click the bed and select 'Sleep'.
** Straw beds give only 75% of the sleep bonus of a regular bed.
* To find out if a bed is available or who is sleeping in it, examine it. If the bed is occupied, it will say:
** After the sleeper has accumulated the maximum sleep bonus (5 hours), the bed will be automatically freed up for other players to sleep in.
* If the bed is not on your own deed, there will be a 60 second timer to log out.

Renting
* Anyone can sleep on a straw bed. There is no option for setting permissions. (still needs verified for deed permission requirements)

Notes
* Sleeping damages a bed, regardless of the house being on a deed or not.
** Straw beds cannot be repaired.
* Straw beds can also be picked up into inventory providing you are strong enough.
* It can be pushed, pulled, and rotated.
* Can be loaded into any vehicle, except a small cart.
* You cannot place items on a straw bed.
* A straw bed cannot occupy the same tile as another straw bed, or a regular bed. It can share a tile with a bulk storage bin or a food storage bin.
A valentine is a decorative item that may be dropped on the ground. They do not form a pile when multiples are dropped on the same tile. Normal push/pull/rotate actions may be used to move the vase.

Valentines take damage over time, but may be repaired by watering them. Activate a container holding water and right-click the valentine and select Water plant. This action will consume 0.10kg of water regardless of success or failure. You may water them on the ground, in your inventory, or from inside a container. Watering a valentine uses the gardening skill.

Main / Skills / Cooking

Description
Cooking is the skill used to make food that has a higher nutritional value than raw foods, which includes butchering, hot food cooking, baking, making beverages and oil, and dairy food making.

Cooking creates recipes for a player’s personal recipe book, which is populated as a player discovers different combinations and food types for each recipe.

Cookbook
A cookbook is a player’s personal recipe storage containing all recipes known by the individual player. To open the cookbook, click the cooking button on the right side of the quickbar. You can also bind it to a key with “TOGGLE_COOKBOOK”.

*Recipes that are known to all players are green in the cookbook. As a player discovers new recipes, they are added to that player’s cookbook. Any variations to the recipe, such as whether the recipe can use any meat to be created, will be updated in the cookbook when discovered.

inline

*Recipes in white represent those that were learned by creation.
*Recipes in red represent an unknown recipe, for which the product was used in a known recipe (for example, if the player was given that ingredient).
*Recipes that a player has as a favorite are shown in gold.
**You can favorite a recipe by ‘’right-clicking’’ on the recipe name and selecting ‘’mark as favorite’’. You can also add personal notes to the recipes.

Recipes
Recipes are acquired by creating different cooking products, adding a player-written recipe to the cookbook, or finding a recipe in a creature’s corpse. Recipes are stored in a player’s personal cookbook, which is populated as a player discovers different combinations and food types for each recipe.
Recipes may have optional ingredients as well as required ingredients. The optional ingredients can increase the weight, difficulty, and/or nutritional value that the product has. Each optional ingredient will usually increase the difficulty by 5.

Lootable Recipes
Trolls, goblins, and rift ogres have their own special foods, and therefore give a chance to find a recipe on the corpse. Each creature type has a basic, rare, supreme, and fantastic recipe available. These recipes cannot be created without it existing in the player’s cookbook.

Nameable Recipes
Some recipes exist that, when discovered, will be named with the first creator’s name in the title. A player can only have one recipe named after them. The recipe name will then be known as “(Player)’s (recipe name)”.

Recipe Sharing
Recipes can be transcribed from a player’s recipe book, allowing it to be traded. To do so, ‘’right-click’’ on the recipe, then ‘’options’’ > ‘’mark recipe to be written’’, fill a reed pen with ink or dye, then ‘’right-click’’ on a paper or papyrus and select ‘’write recipe X’’. Note that if your recipe was made with potato but can be made with any vegetable, it will be written as potato.
Basic recipes (marked in green) and rare or better recipes cannot be written down.
To add a received recipe to the cookbook, ‘’right-click’’ on the recipe and select ‘’read recipe’’, then ‘’Add to cookbook’’.

Note: Recipes must be in your inventory to be added to your cookbook. Adding from a container (like a backpack) will not work.

Lore
Lore is a function activated by ‘’right-clicking’’ on the container holding ingredients and selecting ‘’lore’’, giving a player hints about which ingredients can be used. The hints are based on which ingredients are in the container, and will give hints toward creating a random recipe that can be made from the ingredients within. This random recipe will always be pointed toward with those same ingredients for the particular player; however, the same ingredients used by a different player may hint toward a different recipe, if available.

Sample messages:

inline - part of a recipe

inline - complete recipe

inline - no known recipe for that combination

- valid known recipe

- Valid ingredients incorrect cooker

Benefits
Nutrition & CCFP
Every edible item has different nutritional values, as well as values for calories, carbs, fats, and proteins (CCFP). When items are combined to create a resulting item, the CCFP values are combined to give the result its own CCFP values.
*Calories – High bar reduces stamina drain
*Carbs – High bar reduces water usage
*Fats – High bar increases favour regeneration, and reduces drain on sleep bonus.
*Proteins – High bar reduces food usage
Note that when the player’s food bar is full, no more food can be eaten (with the exception of endurance sandwiches and sleep powder). The same goes for beverages when the thirst bar is full.
The basic unitary consumption for a player per Wurm day are:
*2000 calories
*300 carbs
*80 fats
*50 proteins

Note that there is no penalty for not filling one or all elements of CCFP.

You can control the display of the CCFP elements by right-clicking your health bar and selecting Toggle hover expand.

Temporary Affinities
Some prepared foods consumption can result in a temporary affinity, giving the player a 10% bonus skill gain to a specific skill for a short period of time. Different players get different affinities from the same meals, and the food item must be prepared identically to get the same affinity again.
The amount of time the affinity will be effective is determined by the amount of the food that is consumed.

Rarity
Recipe-based foods have the ability to be created rare or better. Rare foods have higher CCFP values and give longer temporary affinities.
*Rare – 10% improvement
*Supreme – 40% improvement
*Fantastic – 90% improvement
Rare and better recipes also exist, and can be found on creature corpses. These recipes cannot be created without existing in the player’s cookbook, and cannot be written down to be given to another player.

Wrapping Items
*Fish and meat can be wrapped to allow them to be cooked directly in a cooker without a container.
*Most other non-liquid foods can be wrapped with waxed paper to reduce decay.
*Cheese can be wrapped with a wool or cotton cloth square to reduce decay.
*Wrapped foods decay about 5 times slower than unwrapped.

Decay Prevention
There are several methods that reduce decay, and most of them can be stacked to increase the effect. Food should not be stored in your inventory because it will take damage after some time. Just carry a day or two worth of food and store the rest.
*Containers in a building on a deed should be the minimum level of storage.
*Larders need snowballs to work, but provide a significant boost over just storing in a container.
*Food storage bins Can be used to completely eliminate food decay, but only on raw materials.
*Lunchboxes lower the decay of food that is carried in your inventory.
*Salt can be added to most meals when they are cooked.
*Waxed paper can be used to wrap food.
*The quality of the food seems to have some effect on decay, but the quality of the container does not.
*A Rare lunchbox will lower decay further and the same probably applies to rare foods and larders.
*Some Runes lower the decay of a container's contents
*Magical chests are the only known method to completely eliminate the decay of a finished or cooked meal/food. It is worth considering their use to store a variety of meals with different affinities.
*Some created food items are still considered raw materials that can be stored in a food storage bin, such as cheese or meat fillets.

Beverages
NB: Alcohol may be found as part of treasure chests. These have different properties from craftable alcohol.

* Wine will age better inside a building than outside (ie: where other items would have minimized decay, wine ages better).

* Wine containers must be sealed for the wine to age.

* Oak barrels have a slight bonus over other wood types.

* Wine and other distilled spirits increase in quality when they take decay ticks, representing drinks aging. Example: Over 362 days, 14 oakwood wine barrels filled with mead, sealed, in a building, in a mine. The mead quality ranged from 70 to 93, and all gained exactly 5 quality in that time.

Note: For beverages that need to be fermented, you must be online and on the same server when fermentation completes to receive credit for any achievements and/or get the fermented recipe in your cookbook. The fermentation process will take approximately 5-7 RL days to complete.

Tools and Ingredients
Containers
Ingredients
Ingredients consist of liquids, meat, animal products, vegetables, herbs, and spices obtained through several other skills.

* Baking
* Beverages

Description
A grey stone well with a bucket.

Usage
A well is a stone structure that holds up to 125kg of liquid, and automatically refills itself with water frequently when placed above an underground water source, found with divining.

Creating
* The quality of the stone brick affects the success chance when creating.
* No matter the size of the first clay (as long as its 2 kg or higher), the entire clay lump will be used up. Adding clay just subtracts 2kg from a lump, however.
* The quality of the clay affects the initial quality of the well.
* If you fail creating, both the brick and the clay are damaged.
* The rendered well requires 1 additional clay.
* The well can be improved.

Additional Notes
* Once built, it usually takes around 15 minutes for the well to fill.
* Water is typically refilled within minutes of depletion.
* Courier can be cast on wells to make them into a Wishing well.
* Wells will also function on upper stories or underground tiles, located above or below ground level.
* Can be loaded onto a large cart if empty but not held in inventory.
* Wells cannot be dyed. They can, however, be color-runed.
* Some items can be placed on top of the well, as decoration. Since the item is a container already, any items placed on it will be dropped on the ground when it is loaded; a message in event log will notify the player of this.
Description
A bright white unicorn with a slender twisted horn.

Breeding
*Bred unicorns have individual (but not unique) names randomly chosen at birth. They can have traits affecting their speed and other characteristics.
*Bred unicorns have 2 foal stages (young foal and adolescent foal) before they grow to young unicorns.
*Traits have a chance to be inherited from the parents. Both parents having a trait will help but does not guarantee that trait will be passed on.

Notes
*Unicorns are significantly faster than normal horses.
*Unicorns can be tamed with seeds, mixed grass, and other vegetation. A taming skill of 35+ is recommended for this, although successful taming has been seen at a taming skill of 20.
*Can be ridden when tame up to venerable stage, and can also hold a passenger. The passenger mount does not require any body control.
Can be hitched up until the last aged stage. However, the unicorn will unhitch when they age up to Old at 30 months and become unruly.
*Can be hitched when tamed, but will unhitch if it becomes untamed.
*Will be attacked by carnivorous animals and mobs.
*Have a body strength of 30.
*Can be equipped with saddle, bridle, and horse shoes (made of gold, silver, electrum or empyrean only)
*Unicorns spawn on grass, steppe, and mycelium tiles.
*Unicorns are highly resistant to disease and starvation/hunger issues faced by other animals while living in less than ideal conditions. They can still suffer from these issues but typically take much longer to experience them due to triggering conditions than most other animals.

Description
Some animals including horses, cows, bulls, pigs and pheasants can be branded using a branding iron. Branding works only when on a deed you are a member of. Once branded, examining the animal shows the village it belongs to and allows members of that village to lead it, no matter where it is.

* On PvE servers branded animals cannot be attacked by another player unless they have the correct permissions.
* Branded horses have the same protection when dead as when alive (until the next server restart), meaning only those who have permissions may take items from the corpse. If deed permissions allow leading, it will override brand permissions while on deed.
* PvE also prevents the sacrificing of branded animals.
* The maximum number of branded animals per deed (PvE) is (number of tiles)/11.
** You can see the number of branded animals in Settlement info: The tile per creature ratio of this deed is 45.621952. Optimal is 15.0 or more. This is a good figure. There are 35 creatures currently branded.
** The (number of tiles)/11 ratio relates to how many animals can be branded.
** The (number of tiles)/15 ratio, relates to how many anymals (branded or unbranded) you can have on a deed, without increasing the risc of miscarriages/diseased animals etc.
* When a deed disbands, all brands are removed from their animals.
* Only premium players are allowed to brand animals.
* Branding only applies to the server you branded the animal on. If you cross over to another server, that animal is not considered branded on the new server.

Usage
* Heat the branding iron to "it is hot" or hotter.
* Make sure you and the animal are within the deed you are a member of.
* Activate the branding iron, right-click the animal, and select Brand.
* After use, the branding iron appears to lose 0.10 Quality instead of taking actual damage.

Messages given when branding:
: You prepare to brand [animal, e.g. Young fat horse].
: Determined, you raise your branding iron.
: The [animal] makes a horrible sound as you press your branding iron against it.

When examining the animal after branding, it will say: "It has been been branded by and belongs to the settlement of [Settlement]."

Once branded, members of that village can lead the animal anywhere, even on deeds that they don't belong to. You still need a rope to lead it.

Animals cannot be branded when hitched.

Unbranding
To unbrand an animal, simply use the branding iron on that animal again.
You can also unbrand in the manage animals menu.

Messages while unbranding using a branding iron:
: You prepare to remove brand on a [animal].
: You promptly raise your branding iron.
: The [animal] makes a horrible sound as you press your branding iron against it and remove the brand.
<div style="float:right; padding: 10px;">__TOC__</div>
Overview
Permissions & security are two topics fundamental to your enjoyment of Wurm Online. This article attempts to outline in great detail the mechanics available to players in order to maximize the security of their belongings and structures. See the talk page associated to this article for some basic advice and guidance.

To enter the management screen for one of the many permissions systems of Wurm Online right-click on any of the following and open the manage sub-menu.
* the body group header in the inventory or
* the body icon on the character window.
* the inventory header or
* any user-made group header
Individual items may also be managed by right-clicking on them and selecting either Permissions > Manage Item, where Item would be the name of the item's type. If there would only be one option under Permissions, then the Manage Item option will be in the root menu.

Read-only Permissions
There are several areas where you may see read-only permissions. A read-only permission is when you can see what is set for that permission, but you are not able to make changes to it. For example, if the Settlement May Manage option has been ticked and you are not the mayor, or if you are viewing what your permissions are from Manage > Settlement > Info.
* The green check mark indicates that the permission is allowed.
* The red X mark indicates that the permission is disallowed.

Common Permissions
There are two common permissions across all of the management windows:
:;Manage Item: When you give this to someone, you are giving them near owner-like access to that item and all other permissions are automatically checked. This will place the item under their own personal management lists and allow them to remote manage it as if they were the owner, regardless of village and alliance settings. Manage Item does not give a person the ability to rename an item, only the owner can change an item's name. The settlement role permission Manage Allowed Objects gives any villager with it the ability to manage a settlement-managed item as if they had the Manage Item permission on that item.

:;Deny All: Allows you to completely exclude someone, even if other permissions would normally give them access. For example, if you tick Citizens of "Settlement Name" and then add a specific citizen and tick Deny All, they will have no access at all. This also overrides the settlement role permission Manage Allowed Objects, allowing you to selectively remove management permissions on a per-item basis.

Permission Categories
There are several groups of permissions available, depending on your current status and friends list. You can check the box for a category to apply that permission to everything inside of the category. This also applies to the Active Permissions category, where you can quickly tick the x and remove it to remove all permissions. Ticking the Citizens of "Settlement" group adds just that group, where as ticking the Citizens of my deed category will add each player individually. Alliance of "Alliance Name" also includes your village so you must set Citizens of "Your Settlement" to Deny All when you only wish for other alliance members outside of your village to have access.
:;Trusted Friends: Players in your Trusted friends category. See the Friends section.
:;Friends: Players in your Friends category. See the Friends section.
:;Citizens of my deed: A list of all citizens in your current settlement.
:;Available Groups: Blanket permission groups.
::;Alliance of "Alliance Name": Represents all members of your current alliance, including your own village. See Alliance Permissions for more information.
::;Citizens of "Settlement Name": Represents all citizens of your settlement.
::;Kingdom of "Kingdom Name": Represents every member of your kingdom. On PvE servers, this will always be 'Freedom Isles'.
::;"Everyone": Represents player in the game.
:;Manually Added: This is where any names you add at the top of the form will show when they don't have any permissions assigned.
:;Active Permissions: This is a list of all permissions that are currently active. It will consist of both players and groups.

Alliance Permissions
Your villagers need Allow Actions on Allied Deeds in order for any alliance permissions to work for them. This means that if an alliance village has set permissions to allow the alliance to do things, such as May Enter, they will not be able to do so without that settlement permission checked in their role. Your villager can verify this by right-clicking on their body and going under Manage > Settlement > Info. There is a button that should say Show role for <role name>. They can click this and see a read-only view of their permissions.
* This applies to anything on and off-deed with theAlliance of "Alliance Name" permission group added.
* Not having this checked will treat that alliance member as a non-citizen on all alliance deeds.

Friends
Your friends list has four categories: Trusted, Friends, Contacts, and Other. Only friends that are in the Trusted or Friends category will show in the permission management windows. These categories are quick and easy ways to add blanket permissions to a specific group of people by simply ticking the boxes for the entire group. This adds each name under the category to the permissions individually, which allows you to further customize your permissions.
:Note: The system is limited to a maximum of 1000 permissions added at a single time. This means that if your Trusted or Friends list has more than 1000 players in it, you will not be able to add the whole category at once.

Read more: Manage Friends

Locks & Keys
The owner of an item or vehicle can unlock and replace locks without the need for keys. If you attach a lock and do not have all of the keys for that lock, you will see this error message: . Anyone that has a key to the lock can access the locked item or vehicle, but they cannot unlock it, replace the lock, or manage any permissions if they do not have Manage Item set.

Keys are entirely optional, with the choice to create copies remaining for situations where you may not wish to use the permission system. You may dispose of any unwanted keys by sacrificing them at an altar. Should you later decide that you would like a key, simply activate a new lock, right-click the item or vehicle, and click Replace Lock.

Search Permissions
You may search for all the permissions a specific player has and choose which ones to edit. Open the Character Window and right-click on your body. Click on Manage > Search Permissions and a window will pop up asking you to enter a player's name. If the search finds that player listed in any permissions, it will give you a list indicating the name of the item, the type of item, and if they are the owner of it or not. You may tick the circle next to the item you wish to manage, and click Manage Permissions, or you may also click Remove all Permissions to quickly remove that player from all of the listed items.

Permission History
The current owner or the mayor of a settlement-managed item may view the history of permission changes by right-clicking on the item and clicking on Permissions > History of Item, where item would be the type of item you are clicking on. This will show you a history of all permission changes and is preserved over changes in ownership. You may need to scroll the window horizontally to see longer lines, especially when many people or groups were added or removed at the same time.

Animals
Animals must be branded by a deed to enable animal management. When branded, the owner defaults to the mayor of the deed that branded it. Like other managed items, Manage Allowed Objects does allows a villager the ability to manage branded animals. To access the management window, right-click on your body and click on Manage > Animals. This window shows you a list of all animals that you have tamed, are caring for, or that are branded on your deed. You may untame, stop caring for, or remove brands from this window. If the animal is branded, you may select the animal and click Give direction to. This will give you a message in the same way the Locate soul spell does and help direct you to your animal. To manage a specific animal, select the animal you wish to manage and click Manage Animal. You may also right-click on the animal you wish to manage and click on Manage Animal, which may be under the Permissions menu if there are multiple permission options for that animal.

Animal Notes
* Only available on PvE servers.
* The settlement role permission Attack Citizens for the branding settlement is needed to attack branded animals on or off-deed.
* The settlement role permission Tame/Charm/Dominate for the branding settlement is needed to tame branded animals on or off-deed.
* Removing a brand also deletes all settings and history associated with that animal.
* While taming or caring for an animal will show them in your list, neither will enable permission management.
* Branded animals can have their equipment managed by anyone with Manage Equipment enabled as if they had tamed it.
* The Lead settlement permission only allows a player to lead an animal, whereas May Ride set on the animal allows a player to lead and ride that animal.
* Branded animals may be given a nickname by the mayor of the deed that branded them.
::Example, if Runheart is given the nickname of 'Spot': inline
* Branded animals may be remote managed, even when off deed.
* Branded horses have the same protection when dead as when alive (until the next server restart), meaning only those who have permissions may take items from the corpse.
* Revoking permissions from someone riding the animal will not dismount them, but it will prevent them from riding the animal again once they disembark.
* The limit to the number of branded animals you can have is <tt>tiles / 11</tt>.
::For example, for a 20 by 20 deed: <tt>20x20 = 400 / 11 = 36</tt>
* If deed permissions allow leading, it will override brand permissions while on deed.

Animal Permissions
:;Manage Item: Allows managing of these permissions.
:;Can Ride: Allows riding of this animal.
:;Can be Passenger: Allows being a passenger of this animal.
:;Manage Equipment: Allows adding or removing equipment from the animal without taming it.
:;Deny All: Deny all access.

Buildings & Doors
Buildings
You can manage buildings by right-clicking on your body and clicking on Manage > Buildings. You may also right-click on a building directly and select Manage Building. This will be under the Permissions menu if there are multiple permission options on that building. You may only manage a building if you have been given the Manage Item permission on that building, have the Manage Allowed Objects settlement permission if the building is managed by the settlement, or if you are the owner of the building. Owners of settlement-managed buildings without Manage Allowed Objects or Manage Item can only change the building's ownership.

A building must have all first floor walls complete before permissions will work on that building, and doors must be locked with a door lock before they respect the May Enter permission. All other permissions are enforced without door locks. While building the initial walls of a building requires Build settlement permission, the Modify Building permission on the building itself is required to continue building by anyone but the owner once the walls are complete. The owner is the person who planned the structure.

Owners of buildings that are not managed by a settlement, or mayors of settlement-managed buildings, may click on the Demolish button to completely destroy that building. This action cannot be undone.
Building Notes
* Permissions on a building will override Settlement permissions.
* Only the current owner of a building may tick Settlement May Manage.
* Only the current owner of a building, or the mayor when Settlement May Manage is checked, can rename the building or its doors.
* Only the mayor may un-tick Settlement May Manage.
* You must have Pickup Items as well as May (Un)Load to load things from a building.
* You must have May Enter permissions in order to drop something inside a building.
* Container permissions override building permissions, allowing you to let someone take from a specific container without giving them Pickup Items on the building.
* If Settlement May Manage is set, the mayor is able to demolish a building instead of the actual owner.
* Any villager with Destroy Any Building may bash a building, regardless of ownership or settlement management.

Building Permissions
Checking a building and pushing the Manage Permissions button will take you to a screen where the owner can re-name the building and change the ownership. The owner and any other players with direct or inherited manage permissions will also be able to view and modify all permissions linked to the building.

:;Manage Item :allows management of the permissions on the building
:;May Enter :allows entry through locked doors (if managed by the building) and the ability to improve and repair the building and its contents
:;Modify Building :allows destroying, building and rotating of floors, roofs. Deed permissions may be required to add or remove tiles
:;Pickup Items :allows taking, pushing, pulling, turning and hauling (overrides deed settings)
:;Pickup Planted :allows taking of planted items, requires the Pickup Items building permission
:;Place Merchants :allows placing of a merchant or trader and overrides the deed settings
:;May (Un)Load :allows the loading and unloading of items, overriding the deed settings. Requires Pickup Items for the target to load items they do not own and Pickup Planted for planted items.
:;Deny All: Does just that!

Doors
You may manage doors by picking a building and clicking the Manage All Doors button. You may also manage a door directly by right-clicking on the door and clicking on Permissions > Manage Door. Door permissions are managed by the building's permissions by default. To manage individual door permissions, remove the check for Controlled By Building and Apply Changes. Doors can be named by typing a name into the box next to Name. You must be able to manage the building the door is attached to in order to manage the doors on that building.
Door Notes
* Door permissions are only enabled when the door has a door lock attached.
* Doors default to Controlled By Building and anyone with Manage Item can toggle this option.
* Doors may only be renamed by the owner of the building, or the mayor when Settlement May Manage is checked.
Door Permissions
:;Pass Door: Allows passing through this door.
:;Deny All: Denies all access.

Carts and Wagons
A small padlock or large padlock is required to activate vehicle permissions. You can manage land vehicles by right-clicking on your body and clicking on Manage > Carts and Wagons. You may also right-click on an vehicle you own or have permission to manage and click Manage Item. Item will be whatever the type of vehicle it is that you are managing. This option may be under the Permissions menu if there are multiple permission options on that item. You will only have the option to manage a vehicle if you are the owner or have been given the Manage Item permission on that vehicle.

Cart and Wagon Notes
* The owner of a vehicle you may be using can change the name of that vehicle at any time or attach a lock to it thereby making it useless to anyone else, including locking you out of any items you may have inside the cart.
* If you have obtained a locked vehicle from another player who did not pass along the key to you, immediately replace the lock. Failing to do so can result in the owner of the key unlocking your vehicle at any time.
* Not all permissions will be visible on all vehicles. For example, small carts will not have Can Command or Can be Passenger.
* Only the owner may rename the vehicle.

Cart and Wagon Permissions
:;Manage Item: Allows managing of these permissions.
:;Can Command: Allows commanding of this vehicle.
Gates
A gate must be locked with a gate lock for permissions to become active on it, though the mayor may rename the gate if it is managed by a settlement without a lock. You can manage gates by right-clicking on your body and clicking on Manage > Gates. You may also right-click on a gate directly and select Manage gate. This will be under the Permissions menu if there are multiple permission options on that gate. You may only manage a gate if you have been given the Manage Item permission on that gate, have the Manage Allowed Objects settlement permission if the gate is managed by the settlement, or if you are the owner of the gate. Owners of settlement-managed gates without Manage Allowed Objects or Manage Item can only change the gate's ownership.

Gate Notes
* A gate created off-deed must have a lock attached in order to rename it or manage it in any way.
* The owner of a gate is whomever attached the lock.
* Anyone can attach a lock to an off-deed gate, but only citizens with Attach Lock can attach or replace locks on-deed.
* Settlement May Manage allows the mayor and any citizen with the Manage Allowed Objects permission to manage this item.
* Only the current owner may tick Settlement May Manage for off-deed gates, and only the mayor may remove the tick.
* A gate created on-deed defaults to Settlement May Manage. A lock is required to manage permissions, but the mayor can rename an gate without a lock.
* You cannot remove Settlement May Manage for on-deed gates.
* Locked off-deed gates without Settlement May Manage may be renamed by their current owner.
* Locked on-deed gates and off-deed gates with Settlement May Manage may only be renamed by the mayor of that settlement.
* Settlement-managed gates with no permissions ticked can be controlled by the settlement role permission May Pass Gates.
* Off-deed gates, even with Settlement May Manage, must be managed to allow citizens to pass.
* Anyone with a key to the current lock on the gate may unlock and pass through the gate.
:: It is important to replace locks on gates that you extend your deed over, or when you are unsure as to who may have keys to it.

You can manage mine doors by right-clicking on your body and clicking on Manage > Mine Doors. You may also right-click on a mine door directly and select Manage Mine Door. This will be under the Permissions menu if there are multiple permission options on that door. You may need to stand on the tile adjacent to a mine door in order for it to remain closed so you may right-click on it. You may only manage a mine door if you have been given the Manage Item permission on that door, have the Manage Allowed Objects settlement permission if the door is managed by the settlement, or if you are the owner of the mine door. Owners of settlement-managed mine doors without Manage Allowed Objects or Manage Item can only change the mine door's ownership.
Mine Door Notes
* The owner of the mine door is the player that installed it. When managed by the settlement, the mayor is treated as the owner.
* On-deed mine doors automatically set the Settlement May Manage flag, which cannot be removed while it remains on-deed.
* When a deed no longer covers a mine door, the Settlement May Manage flag is automatically removed, which the original owner may tick again if desired.
* Permissions are cleared whenever Settlement May Manage is removed.
* The owner, or the mayor if managed by a settlement, may rename a mine door.
* Pass / Deny permissions on mine doors apply only to entry into a mine from above ground. They do not apply to exiting a mine from the inside, which is always allowed.
You can manage your settlement by right-clicking on your body and clicking on Manage > Settlement. This will bring up a list of various settlement options depending on your current permissions. The mayor may also use the settlement deed item in their inventory, and anyone can use the settlement token to both manage and view permissions of that settlement.
Settlement Notes
* If a role is given to a Trusted friend who also inherits the Citizens of my Deed roles the citizen permissions will take priority. It would be required to manually add the desired role for the player to the managed item if it differs from the citizen permission. The player can exist in more than one list; if different permissions are selected for the same player, they will end up with a merged set of permissions.
* Item-level permissions, including Deny All, can be used to override settlement-level permissions.
* <font color="#0000FF">Blue</font> settings may only be set on citizen-type roles.
You may also right-click on an ship you own or have permission to manage and click Manage Ship. This option may be under the Permissions menu if there are multiple permission options on that ship. You will only have the option to manage a ship if you are the owner or have been given the Manage Item permission on that ship.

Ship Notes
* Do not rely on permission categories, such as Alliance of "Alliance Name" or Citizens of "Settlement Name" for crossing server borders. Instead use named permissions.
* Unless you are the owner, have the key or have full manage rights to an item, taking it across server borders will leave you with an item that you can no longer manage or use.
* The owner of a vehicle can change the name of that vehicle at any time or attach a lock to it thereby making it useless to anyone else, including locking you out of any items you may have inside the cart.
* If you have obtained a locked vehicle from another player who did not pass along the key to you, immediately replace the lock. Failing to do so can result in the owner of the key unlocking your vehicle at any time.
* Commanding a boat cross server without explicit permissions will give an error message and prohibit the crossing.
* Keys are no longer required for unlocking or replacing a lock if you are the owner of the boat.

Ship Permissions
:;Manage Item: Allows managing of these permissions.
:;Can Command: Allows commanding of this vehicle.
:;Can be Passenger: Allows being a passenger of this vehicle.
:;Access Hold: Allows access to the hold.
:;May Drag: Allows the vehicle to be dragged.
:;Deny All: Deny all access.

Item Permissions
Item permissions cannot be managed remotely and must be done at the item you wish to manage.

Containers
Containers require a small padlock or a large padlock to be attached in order to activate permissions. The owner of the container is the person who dropped it, planted it, or unloaded it, and only the owner may attach or replace a lock on a container. To manage a container, right-click on the container and click Permissions > Manage Item, where Item will be the type of container you are managing. You must be the owner or have been given the Manage Item permission in order to manage that container.

Container Notes
* Only the owner may rename a container.
* Keys may still be used to access containers without the need to set up permissions.
* Keys are not required to modify a container's lock.

Container Permissions
:;Manage Item: Allows managing of these permissions.
:;May Open: Allows access to this container.
:;Deny All: Denies all access.

Beds
You can manage a bed by right-clicking on the bed and clicking Permissions > Manage Bed. You must either be the owner of the building the bed is in, be able to manage the building, or have the Manage Item permission for that bed in order to manage it. Since Manage Allowed Objects allows for management of the building, it also allows for management of the beds inside settlement-managed buildings.

Bed Notes
* Beds with no permissions default to allowing anyone with May Enter to sleep for free.
* Only the owner of the building, or the mayor of a settlement-managed building, may rename a bed or set rent on a bed.
* Free Sleep overrides any rent set on that bed.

Bed Permissions
:;Manage Item: Allows managing of these permissions.
:;May Use Bed: Allows access to this bed.
:;Free Sleep: Allows this bed to be used for free. (Requires May Use Bed)
:;Deny All: Denies all access.

Notes
Here are a few key points to note when dealing with managed items. Some of these are referenced above within the relevant sections.
* Unless you are the owner, have the key or have full manage rights to an item, taking it across server borders will leave you with an item that you can no longer manage or use.
* Commanding a boat cross server without explicit permissions will give an error message and prohibit the crossing.
A golden altar, with mystical carvings and inscriptions.

Notes
* Failure to create the altar will use up 0.5 kg of gold
* Regardless of which god has domain over an area, any altar may be created in that area.
* Gold altars need to have the bless spell cast on them in order to be set to a specified deity. Stone and wooden altars, on the other hand, do not have this requirement.
* Improvement of the altar requires the standard jewelsmithing or blacksmithing tools. The use of heat here to make the altar "glowing" is not necessary as it is in most other smithing and metal-works endeavors.
* Any items placed on the altar do not get sacrificed - only items placed inside the altar do.
* All altars can be pushed/pulled/placed once created. They cannot be loaded onto a vehicle or picked-up into inventory.
* For Benediction you will need anywhere from 13 to 20 some skill in Jewelry Smithing to make the altar with high ql Gold lumps and Large Anvil. You must also have a premium account.

Description
A brown algae long and slimy with air bladders clearly visible.

Kelp is a seaside product gathered from gardening kelp tiles or from foraging Seaweed nodes.

Usage
Kelp can be used to create nori, which is used in cooking. Nori can be stored in a food storage bin.

Method
Kelp tiles
Medium, long and wild natural kelp tiles can be harvested to produce kelp. Medium kelp produces 1 plant, tall produces 2 plants and wild produces 3 plants. The quality of the harvest is random.

The length of the kelp can be examined:
:
:
:
:

Kelp tiles can be harvested with a Sickle, Shovel, Scythe, Butchering knife or Carving knife. After harvest, it typically takes approximately 4-6 real life days in order for the kelp to regrow to a full, "growing wild" state.

Notes
* Kelp can only be found in the wild and cannot be planted like reed.
* Kelp tiles can be removed by digging one corner of the tile. It turns to dirt.
* Kelp tiles will also be removed by leveling a tile that shares a corner with the kelp tile.
* Only the NW corner of the kelp tile must be raised in order for it to be harvested. Raising it to -8 dirts will put it into reach.
* To gather kelp, any sharp object will work. Tools aside from the sickle or scythe do, however, limit the kelp quality to a maximum of 20.
* A creature will eat from a trough at the same rate as they would normally graze/eat from a pile.
* A trough cannot be picked up into player inventory. It can only be transported. It can be loaded into a wagon but not a large cart.
* Troughs are not lockable.
* Only creature-edible items can be placed into a trough (seed, meat, veg, fish, etc).
* Neither corpses nor water fit in a trough.
* Not all creatures will eat from a trough. e.g. Dogs will ignore the trough and starve.
* A trough cannot occupy the same tile as another trough. It can share the tile with a bsb or crate.

Description
A long fishing pole with eyelets.

Usage
A fishing rod is a tool used for fishing.
* Fishing rods made of willow break less.
* Wood type of the finished rod is determined by the shaft, not the fishing pole.

* A fishing rod contains an empty fishing reel slot.
** A fishing reel is required to operate the fishing rod.
***You will also need a fishing line, hook and float, and can optionally include bait.

A fishing rod will change its name and type depending on the reel it holds:

Light fishing rod
* Uses a light fishing reel with a light fishing line
Medium fishing rod
* Uses a medium fishing reel with a medium fishing line
Deep water fishing rod
* Uses a deep water fishing reel with a heavy fishing line
Professional fishing rod
* Uses a professional fishing reel with a braided fishing line

Legacy fishing rod
If the fishing rod does not contain an empty fishing reel slot, it is a legacy version. It will not work for fishing, and you will need to upgrade it with right-click > Upgrade.
*Doing so will turn it into a fishing pole with a basic fishing line and wooden fishing hook.
*Any enchantments on the rod will transfer to the upgraded pole.
*When converting from the legacy upgraded rod to the Light Fishing Rod, rarity will transfer but enchants do NOT.
*A legacy fishing rod's examine text reads: A long pole with a string and a hook made of wood and a small stone as a sink.
