Main / Skills / Digging

Description
Digging requires a Shovel. Activate shovel ---> Right-click a tile (any but rock) and select Dig. This will lower the ground and put 1x of the tile compound in your inventory. The ground is lowered at the closest corner to where you are standing, rather than where you click.

So if you want to lower a tile stand in the corner of the tile activate your shovel, right click>Dig this will lower the corner you are standing on. To lower the whole tile, you must stand in each of the four corners in turn and dig. This is the same for raising a tile, just drop dirt instead of dig.

When you think you have a tile nearly flat you can find out if it is perfectly flat by right clicking>flatten. You will then get the message 'The ground is flat here' in the event window.

A better way to check the flatness of an edge of the tile is to press 'c' key, then look at one tile and if the line is straight, then you are sure it is flat.

Digging for rock
If you want to dig for a rock tile you must be aware that you probably have to dig a lot of dirt. To start you must dig a reasonable distance above water, keep digging in one corner till you "hit rock" or you do not have enough skill to dig deeper. Once you hit rock in one corner you must then dig until you hit rock in the other corners of the tile. When you hit rock in all four corners the rock tile will be uncovered.

Flattening has been revamped. The information below is mostly outdated and no longer correct
Flattening Guide
To make a patch of ground perfectly flat is an art, and requires patience. Below is a guide on how to flatten one tile.

When flattening you should not use the "flatten" option, this is only used to check if the tile is flat.

If when flattening a tile it takes 9 seconds, then the tile is completely flat, if it is anything else then you should stop the action straight away so you do not ruin tiles around the one you are trying to flatten.

You should always dig down the tile until it looks flat, you need to check the tile from all angles (North, East, South, West) this will ensure that you have no slopes on the tile. You can check for slopes by looking at the tile outline, the outline should be completely flat when you are looking directly at a compass position (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW); this is a well known technique of getting a tile completely flat.

If you are having trouble flattening a tile, then flatten 1 tile using the "flatten" option, then dig down or drop dirt on tiles to match the outline of that tile.

Flattening Guide by: --Listylister 16:09, 13 June 2006 (CDT)

EXTRA TIP!
You can use the flattening action, if the corners (maximum 2) that need to be corrected are above flat level and it takes no more than 14 seconds.
If only one corner is 2 steps from being flat, you can use the flattening action here too (19 seconds). --Helge 16:46, 13 June 2006 (CDT)
----

Flattening timers
To see how many digs you have left on one corner(only if the other 3 corners of the tile are at the same level) subtract 9 from the total time, then divide it by 5.

For example if the timer reads 29:

29 - 9 = 20, 20/5 = 4

You'll have 4 digs left

Small digging guide
For those that had trouble with any of the above guides, here is a small picture that may clarify it.
This is the result of dropping a small amount of dirt on the corner of a tile.
Description
Fo is the deity of gardening and farming. His channeling item is the tree sprout.
Faith Abilities
At 60 Faith normal Animals will ignore you unless you attack them first. This does not include Hyenas and 'monsters' like dragons.
Followers with high faith are inspired in their deities favored terrains, and tire less there. Fo get bonus on grass, dirt, trees.

Fo's Converting Speech
Fo!
His creations surround you. His love is everywhere around you.
He is the father of all things. He created the world out of love and passion.
To embrace Fo is to embrace all living things around you.
All and everyone is equal, but different.
We are all dirt. We are all gems. We just come in different shapes and colors.
To create more and love all that is already created is to love Fo.
To passionately strike down at those who aim to destroy these creations is to love Fo.
To strive after beauty and harmony with nature is to love Fo.
Fo's Inscription (Altar of Three)
I am Fo. I am the Silence and the Trees. The sprout is my symbol. Silent and lonely I lingered in darkness. Look around you. I created this of love and loneliness. You are all like, but different. You are all dirt. You are all gems. You just come in different shapes and colors. Do my bidding. Let all things grow into the splendor they may possess. Strive after beauty and harmony with nature. Let your soul become a lustrous gem. With the same passion by which I once created all this, strike down at those who aim to destroy these creations. Love me. Let me love you.
Description
Items made by alchemists to help cure wounds. Applying a healing cover will speed up the rate of the automatic healing, and if the cover is potent enough, it can heal severe wounds.

Method
You can make healing cover by mixing some botanized, foraged and/or butchered items. Equip the first item, right click on the 2nd, and click on Alchemy>>Mix.

Items Required
You can only mix 2 different items.
Notes
Uzetaab's Notes
Seems that berries do not work in any combination. I have tried about 20 combos that include berries & never get the mix option.
Nor do the following:
:*Thyme
:*Oregano
:*Basil
:*Hazelnuts
:*Belladonna

I have not properly tested crops or onions as they are to valuable to use on healing at this stage.

I tried to apply a Garlic + Parsley (68ql) to a wound that already had one on it. Don't remember what it was made from, but it was only 4 power, so it is safe to say that a Garlic + Parsley is not very good.

:*Sassafras + Rosemary, attempt was allowed.
:*Acorns + Nettles, attempt was allowed.
:*Acorns + Sassafras, attempt was allowed.
:*Garlic + Sassafras, attempt was allowed.
:*Parsley + Acorns, attempt was not allowed.

Parsley was used in both the combos that did not work. Seems it is a weaker herb.

had an occasion where a lions paw in the mix got worse.

Rosemary + tooth got a [16] power result at low skill.
Rosemary + nettles got a [12] power result at low skill.
looks like rosemary is a strong herb.

had a bad wound that would normally go up by 10 damage every time it got worse. The power of a healing lowers the wound by that ammount. so a [6] power heal means the wound goes up by 4. A [11] power healing would lower the wound by 1.

Some severe wounds go up by 10 as well. so the same rules apply.

I kept applying heals to the wound, but never managed to get better than [9] power. However at some point the wound went down by 20 damage to a medium. So it pays to keep at it.

Lore works at 10+ natural substances skill. tells u wether combo will be weak or strong.

butchered items seem to last for more than one creation. It is possible to get 3 or 4 covers from only 2 items.

Only animals can be tamed, for monsters you need to be a followers of Magranon. Blacklighters can also tame animals, they can also raise the spirit of the animal or player? and creates a Zombie.

Blacklighters need 50 faith in Libila to raise a spirit
Method
you can use tame by activating an item the animal will eat. for some animals its seeds, for others its meat/fish
Note: Status do unknown things to tamed animals, if you have any information, please edit this

A pet can be ordered to go somewhere or to attack other animals/people/ you can also lead a pet with a rope.

A pet can't be tamed by another person while it's your pet. A higher taming skill will probably make the animal stay longer as your pet.

You can decide if your pet should go offline or stay online when u log off. Right-click something and select Pet/Go (off/on)line.
What is this?
Have you ever asked yourself that question?
Vynora, our godess and guide, will help you seek the answer to that ancient riddle, just as we help her in her quest to know everything.
Many secrets has she gathered, and we who call ourselves Seekers will be the first ones to learn.
What is a Man? What is a Woman? What lies in darkness of the Void? Questions need answers!
Seekers strive after excellence. We seek the truth in all things. We will go anywhere in our attempts to find it.
True knowledge also brings us power. Power over self, but also power over others.
Our gathered experience tells us that the best for all is to use that knowledge with care.
Therefore most of us are peaceful and strive after a calm and orderly way to gather knowledge.
Welcome to join the followers of Vynora!
Vynora's Inscription(Altar of Three)
Seeker! I am the Water and the Wind. A bowl is my symbol.Have you ever asked yourself the Questions? I will help you find the answer to the Ancient Riddles, if you help me. My knowledge is vast, but I need to know the last parts! We all must know! What are you? What lingers in the darkness of the Void? Seek excellence. Seek the truth in all things. Go anywhere in your attempts to find it. True knowledge also brings you power. Exercise that power with care, or it will hurt you like the snake who bites its tail. Too many secrets are hidden by the other gods, and none will they reveal. This cannot be. Flow with me!
Champion of Vynora
Once you achieve 60 faith and 25 Soul Depth as a follower of Vynora, you may go to the Altar of Three and choose to become a Champion of Vynora.

<ins>Offer to become a Champion</ins>

Your faith and soul are strong enough to become a Champion of Vynora. The decision to do this is final, and extremely
dangerous. If you choose this path, you will eventually pass the spirit currently blocking the path to the netherworld,
effectively dying forever. He will block your passage three times more. This means you will not be able to play this
character any more after you die the third time. It does however have its advantages: You will immediately get a boost of
power, granted by Vynora. You will also gain a permanent bonus when fighting and performing certain other tasks. Your faith
and favor will be set to max, and you may never lose or change deity. But first and foremost, your name will live in the
history of Wurm forever! Do you want to become a champion of Vynora, realizing that this is a final and irrevocable decision?

The Bonuses
:*+5 to all Characteristics skills.
:*Faith set to 99.99 (you can continue to pray & gain faith, but only at about 0.000010)
:*Shorter time for normal healing
:*Increased skill gain (factor isn't known)
:*break altar spell
:*You will get a new title: Champion of Vynora (this title can not be turned off, but it does not effect other titles. So you can be a 'Blacksmith Champion of Vynora' for example).
:*You can never loose your Diety

The Trade off
:*Permadeath. You get 3 lives, if you die after the second respawn , you do NOT respawn. Your name will be remembered and inscribed in the Hall of champions.
:*You can not change your mind later. Champion status is permanent.
:*You can never change your Deity (or change kingdom).

Main / Religion / Magranon

Description
Magranon is the deity of fighting for justice. His channeling item is the Long Sword

Magranon's Inscription (Altar Of Three)
Listen to the words of Magranon: What are you? Could you not be more?
I am the Fire and the Mountain. A sword is my symbol. I will help you rule the world.
You will conquer all evil, and live a rich and glorious life. One day you will stand at the top of the world and sing! What is knowledge for if you do not use it? What use is compassion if you are hungry?
Paths leading endlessly into the mist! What matters is power! First, power over self. Then, power over others. Say yes to yourself! Say 'I will!' Your world will change, and you will change the world!
Let me help. Together, nothing can stop us!
Faith Abilities
A bonus for Magranon followers is that at high faith (70+) and with enough favour (?) left, they have about 75% chance to keep items and skills at death.
Description
Fo is the deity of gardening and farming. His channeling item is the tree sprout.

At 60 Faith normal Animals will ignore you unless you attack them first. This does not include Hyenas and 'monsters' like dragons.

Description
Taming is a skill used to make an animal a pet. You can only have one pet at a time, if you have a pet and you tame another, your first pet will be what it normaly was, aggresive or non-agressive.

Taming skill and status of animal
30-40 calm
40-50 tame
50-60 loyal
60+ still unknown
Note: Status do unknown things to tamed animals, if you have any information, please edit this

A pet can be ordered to go somewhere or to attack other animals/people/ you can also lead a pet with a rope.

A pet can't be tamed by another person while it's your pet. A higher taming skill will probably make the animal stay longer as your pet.
