Description
An item with which you can raise your fighting skill. To fight it, you must have an item in your right hand, preferably a shaft so that you won't damage the doll too much. The lower the quality of the shaft, the less damage you will cause, therefore the practice doll will last longer.

You can raise your fighting skill to a maximum of 20 using a doll. To gain more skill points after that you must fight in real combat.

You can also practice with a bow equipped, this will train archery, fighting, and the type of bow at the same time. But it's much slower for archery than an archery target, and it damages the doll more than a shaft.

Try to keep the quality of the doll as high as possible so you won't damage it as much per hit and you will still get the same amount of skill, no matter how much damage you do or don't cause.

Like a archery target you can go to 20 in any swords subskill and above 20 in the swords skill itself not sure if it goes to thirty or not due to maxxing out all 3 swords before i hit 30 ( ethario )

Description
A 99ql Steel Sword of Magranon.
A heavy two-handed sword of incredible quality made from steel and with a comfortable hilt of leatherbound silver filigran. It is enchanted with Libila's demise, and has an aggressive aura towards Libila.

Item use
A player can wield the sword in his or her two hands, it is effectively a two-handed sword and makes use of the related skill. However, it has been noted to be very slow and ineffective; at the end of beta testing, it was found to be inferior to enchanted swords when tested at a skill level of 32. It is not known whether this has changed recently.

Using the item gives the following message:
You feel how the light of (your deity) shines on you.

The effects of this are unknown.
This artifact has been revealed by Nubbs 7-15-2009
Notes
:* Can't be enchanted.
:* Can be wielded by a Blacklighter as a two-handed sword, it is unknown whether it degrades in effectiveness in the hands of a follower of Libila.
:* Does not decay.
:* Gives bonus to hit against followers of Libila.
* You can find an item for Foraging and Botanizing every 24 hours ( real time )
Tips
It is not a verified fact, but it is believed that the 24 hour timer on a tile is triggered upon the attempt, and not when/if you actually obtain an item from it. Therefore if you find nothing, you are better off trying another tile instead of repeatedly trying on the same one.

It is also been commented on that tiles that are not foraged or botanized for long periods of time (a week or longer) have higher chance of getting something than tiles that are checked 24 to 36 hours apart.

And don't forget that you can both forage and botanize on the same tile, these actions are on seperate timers.

It also seems that you have a higher chance of getting something if you forage or botanize in a tile with flowers of any kind.

Foraging is the skill used in searching for food and herbs. Eating this food directly from the ground will solve starvation, but
it is more effective when used in cooking. It is believed that a higher Foraging skill increases the likelihood of finding some food or herbs.

Note: the skill gain from cooking is given to the person who adds the cooking container into the oven rather than the person who puts the goods into it.

If someone takes the pot out and puts it back in then apparently they get the skill.

Also, it is a common wives tale in Wurm that you get zero skill if the difficulty of the dish you're making is more than 10+ your Hot food cooking skill. This is not the case. Skill may be reduced relative, but it's still able to be over yourskill+10.
Forewarning
I levelled this way myself so I know that it worked at time of writing.

However, for the first 4 points of skill gain it is very difficult to get skill and you will need to make many Gulasch. It may be faster to make some Stew until you are around 5.

#Saucepan Any QL, possibly slower if low QL
#Put cauldron in forge
#Wait 20-90 mins according to QL of forge

When all items are Glowing With Heat

#Remove Sauce Pan
#Put Fish or Meat or Fillet in Sauce Pan
#Fill Sauce Pan with Water from Cauldron
#Put Sauce Pan back in forge
#Wait 30-60 secs till Sauce Pan contains Gulasch

*Take Saucepan
*Pour (empty) Gulasch onto ground

Repeat whole process

Note: Gulasch appears to have a consistent difficulty of 14 that can be increased by using a lower QL fire or forge. This trick should work until you have a skill of around 14.

Tip: Make several Sauce Pans and use the Gulasch to feed your pigs or tamed pet in order to raise your Animal Taming skill at the same time.

If the animal is within 20 tiles of your cooking site then you can make 7-8 pans of Gulasch and use all of them to tame the animal and they will still be glowing hot when you get back tou your fire.

Ethario: /* Ademar */

Identity
Arkanor is a Jenn-Kellon player who resides in Woodscove on the Wild Server. He follows Vynora. Arkanor specializes in smithing, specifically Blacksmithing. His titles are (in order of receipt): Miner, Blacksmith, Trollslayer, Goldsmith. He tends to have a sarcastic sense of humor, possibly too sarcastic, and would ask that no one be offended and/or take him too seriously.

History
Ademar
Arkanor started Wurm during the first week of Gold 2, spending the first week as a nomad with no skill specialization and a very low foodbar. Fortunately, Surplusxmas invited him to join the newly formed village of Ademar, providing a stable base for Arkanor to 'get his footing'. As time passed he became the village blacksmith and weaponsmith, eventually being offered (and declining) a position as a Mayor. His favorite memories during this time were discovering the beauty of Wurm, whether mining iron ore in the Ademar cavern by the light of a lantern, making a moonlit journey to his farm (before Maincorpse and Cheater created the highway that cut through the middle of it), standing on the upper tier of the village and looking at Lake Ademar while the sun set, or pounding away at his forge while chatting to friends in /village. Eventually, he accepted a promotion to Elder, and remained in Ademar until 18 August 2007, when he elected to leave due to continuing inactivity among Ademar's citizens.

Jewelspar
Suiciding to NT, he applied and was accepted into Jewelspar as a trial citizen on 19 August 2007. Electing to live off-deed rather than in communal on-deed housing, he eventually created a walled compound with house, and over the course of several apathy-laden weeks replenished his supply of tools and miscellaneous items. Unfortunately the scourge of inactivity had followed him, laying waste the brave citizens of Jewelspar one by one. From the second week in September onward Arkanor, not being a cook, subsisted on raw meat. He did have the comfort of exploring the quickly encroaching forests and discovering ruined accomplishments of the once-promising Jewelspar citizenry. Eventually Oni paid a visit to Jewelspar, prompting Arkanor to cave into loneliness and boredom (and hunger). With a cart of worldly possessions, he departed Jewelspar on 7 October 2007.

Grimston
Accepting Oni's offer, Arkanor moved to Grimston, rafting his items south along the shoreline. After two months of living like a hobo due to not having a house on-deed, Arkanor was pleased to have a house, forge, and iron mine all in close proximity. Not to mention food. He spent a month in Grimston in comfort working on skills, but also in boredom. While Oni's trench and thorns provided amusement (and occasional death), the road up to the Tundra overlooked the sea, and the calls of the gulls could be heard. By the start of November the monotony of Home began to take its toll at long last, and something more was needed. Something... Wilder.

Woodscove - Jenn Kellon
Arkanor gave Oni the deed to his house on 9 November, left all his items behind, and set out West towards Wild on 10 November. Crossing south of the Black Light, he suicided to the Landing and walked from there to the site of what would become the first Size 20 village in Gold 2, Woodscove. What he did in Woodscove matters little, save to say that he helped build some of its road network and initially served as the town blacksmith. Arkanor eventually became an Elder of Woodscove, and found a stable village at last.

Old Woodscove was founded on approximately 10 November, and on 23 December was expanded by the mayor Dadd to Size 50, making it the largest village in Wurm Gold history. In mid-February, with the introduction of Mol-Rehan, it was decided to disband Woodscove and re-establish it as one of the first major Mol-Rehan cities. The following is a brief description of 'Old Woodscove', lest it perish to the ages. Old Woodscove's 'citadel', the original Size 20 double-walled area, was a two-tiered city. The lower tier was for citizen housing and the upper tier for farm space and public access buildings. Following the expansion, a significant portion of the northwest was walled off and work had begun on an external trench. An enormous natural depression had been refined by Crazybill into the three-tier deep Woodscove Arena, with a level sand floor, sheer slabbed sides, and an enormous mine for hide-and-seek or gladiator entrances. New citizens established numerous buildings in this walled area. Unfortunately, much of the expanded Size 50 area, particularly to the southeast, was left unused, as virgin forest or shadowed valley. The Woodscove Petting Zoo included numerous champion animals, such as Champion Mountain Lions, Brown Bears, Black Bears, Deer, Dogs, Wolves, and Scorpions.

Woodscove - Mol Rehan
It was at this point that Arkanor's story came to its close for some time. Prior to the move, his motivation to play Wurm had declined for a number of reasons. The water no longer held its shimmer, the monotony of shaping iron no longer enticed, and many other things. He moved to Gold Coast with the other remaining citizens, preparing to head to a prospective deed site, but an encounter with bears and a champion scorpion left him dead with all his items and almost a gold in cash lost. While these were recovered by village mates, by the time Arkanor logged in several days later the items had been 'redistributed', leaving him with nothing. Many of his friends had left Wurm, lost to time and space. The spark of fun had not merely guttered, it had gone out. Arkanor never built a house in New Woodscove. He logged in occasionally to observe the village's progress. Features he observed of New Woodscove included the acropolis-like elevated walled village center (and the original site of habitation), the Russian Doll-like token houses, the successful walling of the entire Size 50 deed with no space outside the walls, and Crazybill's initial work on the dirt wall fortifications.

From mid February to mid May, the name and banner of Arkanor lay in the dust, abandoned.

On May 16, Arkanor on a whim returned to Wurm, reactivating his subscription and arriving in a village he did not recognize, with a sad handful of familiar faces but many new fellow citizens. He attempted to carry on as before, but in vain. The ennui remained, and he departed again.
Directions
From Newtown
* Take BBM highway west out of NT until you get to the T intersection.
Caveat: There are numerous wildlife hazards present along the rest of the trip.
Casual travelers are advised to take caution.
Spider assassins are encouraged to do their thing.
* Head north along the highway towards Garden of the Gods.
* When you arrive at Garden of the Gods, head northwest past the village and you will intersect the new West Coast highway.
* Head along this until you come to the switchbacks descending the cliff.
* Descend the switchbacks carefully until you hit the water.
* Follow the coastline north until you come to a forested island (which is inhabited by Waffles).
* Turn right at this island into the bay and proceed straight down the bay from the island towards the huge beach visible in the distance.
* Ascend the relatively steep beach and proceed ahead in the same direction.
* After about 1-3 minutes travel you will arrive either at the exposed rock face above Ademar (ideal), the mini-highway heading east out of Ademar (acceptable; Ademar is at the west end
of this highway), or the shore of Lake Ademar which is to the west of Ademar (you didn't go straight did you).

From The Landing
* Head due east from The Landing to the ocean and hit auto-run for 20-40 minutes and you will end up on Home server
* Once on Home server look for a pointy shaped mountain (shown below) and aim for that

* When you hit the coast look for clay ON the coast and when you see that head due east once more.
* You will come upon Lake Ademar and should see clay on the east coast of that lake, Ademar is right next to that clay.
Brown Bear Cove was a small village located on the Home Server, about twenty minutes north of Newtown. It was named after the large amount of Brown Bears that inhabit the area and the small cove which the village centers around. Brown Bear Cove was deeded as a homestead while the three citizens gathered enough currency to purchase a village deed. They never did.
The citizens of Brown Bear Cove also managed Brown Bear Inn, an eight tile building, which also served as a food merchant, safe haven, and resting place about 22 to 25 minutes north of Newtown on the highway. Brown Bear Inn was under construction at the time of the Wurmageddon.
