== Server type details ==

=== Tutorial server ===

The Tutorial server (Golden Valley) is where all new accounts are created. The aim of the tutorial is to introduce the player to the game mechanics. Players may then move on from the tutorial area to any of the player servers using [[portal]]s. (Premium must be purchased to be able to move to the Elevation server.)

Premium time has no effect till the player leaves the server, as the Tutorial server only allows basic accounts. Thus skills are limited to a maximum of 20 and resource quality is also limited to 20. There are no gods or altars present on the Tutorial server.

The tutorial was built on the Golden Valley server. New players are spawned in the tutorial area and cannot leave other than through the portals to the Epic and Freedom servers. However accounts that were active before the tutorial was created are currently able to stay outside the tutorial area. These accounts are able to transfer to the other servers, but some have chosen to remain. PvP, theft, deeds, and [[guard tower]]s are not allowed on the Tutorial server.

=== Freedom servers ===

The entire area of each server is automatically claimed as Freedom kingdom territory, so guard towers are not required to plant deeds.

Grieving is frowned upon, and is a potentially bannable offense. [[GMs]] will police these servers as needed, but ideally the game rules should take care of things automatically. Moderators police the kingdom chat channels to ensure the chat rules are followed.

The original Freedom server was Independence. The second one was Deliverance, which is situated to the South border of Independence. This was followed by Exodus, to the South border of Deliverance.

The old Wild server became the fourth server to join Freedom. It is now known as the Chaos server and can be accessed by sailing across the west border of any of the three servers above. However, sailing back east across the border from Chaos will only take you to Deliverance.

Most recently, Celebration [http://wurmonline.tumblr.com/post/24127944261/celebration-opened/ release note] was added to the South border of Exodus. At this time, it is not connected to Chaos.

The Chaos server is a pvp enabled freedom cluster server. It can be access by sailing west from any other freedom server.
Full PvP is enabled between alliances (Currently JK vs MR). There is limited raiding enabled. One can pick locks, but destroying deeds with a catapult or maul incur harsh reputation hits. Deed management settings can allow or disallow anyone to attack citizens or non citizens, effectively allowing deeded land to be a safe zone. Note that guards count as citizens.
GMs generally avoid intervening in wild server affairs. However, excessive griefing and other violations of the game rules will be punished as appropriate.

A [[wall plan]] is the frame of an incomplete building, this is the first step to building a [[wooden house]] or [[stone house]].

To start planning a structure, activate a [[mallet]] or [[iron hammer]], right-click a [[tile]] and select ''Plan building''. You can extend the wall plan by additional tiles, depending on your [[carpentry]] skill. Each tile and each piece of wall needs 1 point in carpentry.

To remove a wall plan from a tile, right-click the tile and select ''Remove plan here''. A wall plan without any walls attached will generally decay within 24 hours.

The [[maximum slope]] you can plan buildings on is a [[slope]] of 8 dirts.

If you find you have the desired shape of your house, right-click the wooden frame and select ''Finalize build plan''. == Description ==
A small stone wall. Better for defensive purposes than the [[wooden fence]], yet still weaker than [[tall stone wall]]. Small stone walls are a good way to get your [[masonry]] skill up, and are relatively easy for even a new player to build, requiring no iron or other resources to create.

An unfinished wall will start at 1QL. Each rock shards adds up to 10% of its quality value to the wall. The actual amount is random but with higher skill you'll get the maximum per shards more often. The masonry skill also limits the effective shard QL.

Stone walls can be improved or repaired with [[rock shards]]. A 20kg rock shards will fix the walls [[damage]] by 10.
Low stone walls will begin to show decay at > 60 damage by exhibiting a mossy appearance, just like [[wooden fence|wooden fences]]
