Main / Skills / Nature / Meditating

Meditation
The Basics
To meditate, drop a meditation rug on the ground, right click it, and choose "Nature -> Meditate". Due to the flatness of the rug models, it is recommended to use them in a container you place on the ground, such as a bucket, to enable easier pickup. You can join a path at 15 Meditation skill, but you must do so at 20 skill if you want to continue skill gain.

Skill Training
Skill can be gained on any tile but you have to move at least 10 tiles from the spot of the previous meditation. A successful meditation is completing the two minute meditation timer but you will not necessarily gain skill every time.

Below 20 meditation skill there is no time limit between skill gains. You only have to move 10 tiles between meditations. A popular method is to drop a rug on the first tile and a second rug on the 11th tile of a path and to move between the two rugs. Another one is to patrol the perimeter of an 11x11 box and to meditate each corner.

Above 20 meditation skill the chances to gain skill are limited to a few per day:

* The first 5 meditations per day need to be 30 minutes apart at least
* Every meditation past the 5th must be at least 3 hours after the previous one. The message You feel that it will take you a while before you are ready to meditate again after the 5th and any following meditation indicates the longer wait time.
* Every 24 hours after a server restart the counter is reset and you get 5 new chances immediately

Example:
: Assuming the server was restarted at 12:00 and you start meditating right away. The first 5 meditations can be done at 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30 and 14:00. The next ones must be at least 3 hours past the previous one and are available at 17:00, 20:00 and 23:00. After getting some sleep bonus you continue to meditate at 8:00 and 11:00. At 12:00, 24 hours after the server restart the first 5 meditations are available again.

You do not lose a chance nor do you get any meditation skill if you meditate before the wait time is up or if you meditate within 10 tiles of the previous meditation spot. If you are eligible to gain skill (waited long enough and moved the 10 tiles) you will use up a chance and randomly get skill meditation skill. The ratio of skill gain per tries depends on the meditation rug. At lower levels a ratio of about 50% can be reached. Around 70 meditation skill the highest ratio has been about 40%. It is possible that you don't get any skill in one or two days but if the ratio over at least 10-20 tries is way below the listed examples you should try to change the quality of the rug. The listed ratios have been reached with a rug in the range of 20-30 quality.

Path Management and Advancement
Starting and Following a Path
On certain tiles, there can be a pop-up after finishing meditating that allows you to start a path. There are thought to be many paths, though some are more easily found than others.
Verified paths are:

The Path of Knowledge

The Path of Power

The Path of Insanity

The Path of Love

The Path of Hate.

To join a path you need to have at least 15 meditating skill.

Once you are on the path, a title will appear next to your name, similar to the champion title. Each step of the path brings a new title. At each step, you must wait for an increasing amount of time before you can advance to the next step on the path. Times between steps are shown in the section on Titles below. You can only follow 1 path.

The message you get to start each path seems to take the following form: "As you meditate upon these things you realize that there is a pattern of thinking that you can try to follow. If this path contains the truth or simply the figment of someone's imagination, you do not know. Nonetheless, it may pose an interesting challenge. Do you wish to embark on the philosophical journey of the path of X? If you answer yes, you will be challenged by the selected path as you visit more places like this one and mediate.". Answering yes will make you an adherent of that particular path, with the title of Uninitiated.

For the subsequent questions of each path, the dialog starts as follows: "If the path of X contains the truth or simply is the figment of someone's imagination, you do not know. Nonetheless, it poses an interesting challenge. The following question springs to mind", and is then followed by a new question with five possible answers.

The further along a path you are, the harder it becomes to get the question dialogs to appear. The chance to receive a question is determined by your meditation skill, and the quality/type of the rug you are using. The various rugs in order of increasing effectiveness are: Meditation rug, Fine meditation rug, Beautiful meditation rug, and Exquisite meditation rug. If you fail to receive a question, you can simply keep meditating on the same special tile until you succeed; there is no need to move elsewhere first.

If you get a question wrong, the delay timer resets and you must wait out the full period over again. For example if you choose wrongly on the level 4 question, you have to wait another 6 days (real time) before you can try again.

Leaving a Path
If you have chosen a path, you now have the option Nature -> Leave path. This brings up a dialog that says: "Select quit to stop following this path. The result is immediate and dramatic".

If you select Quit, you get this message: "You decide to stop pursuing the path of knowledge."

You do not lose any meditating skill if you leave your path. However, you do lose all progress in the path and any path powers you have gained.

Path Leaders - Enlightenment
Once you have reached level 3 in your chosen path, you will have a new option Nature -> Path leaders. This brings up a dialog that says "You consider the local leaders of the path:". "Local" here means the server you are currently on. Once you reach level 4, your own name appears on this list.

Simple instructions:
*Leader activates a meditation rug
*Student types /invitations
*Leader right-clicks the student and looks for the Light Path option
*Leader repeats this attempt until the student gets the path question dialog window that we're used to seeing for path advances

Leaders in paths are able to Enlighten others who are exactly three levels below the leader's current level. For example, a level 9 can advance a level 6 to level 7. The student does not need to have the normally-required amount of Meditation skill to advance, but enough time must have passed since the student's last path advance for him to receive the question. You will not need to move or wait if the attempt fails, but multiple attempts may be necessary.

Example of successful enlightenment (courtesy of Corrax via the forums):<br>

* Path leader:
[12:07:16] Eleyna needs to type in the command /invitations.
[12:07:27] You attempt to light the path for Eleyna.
[12:07:27] You ask Eleyna a question. she seems to think hard.
[12:07:58] Eleyna has reached the level of Goodhearted of the path of love!

* Student:
[12:07:24] You will now accept invitations to change kingdom and religion.
[12:07:27] Corrax asks you a question.
[12:07:58] You think 'Sounds about right'
[12:07:58] Congratulations! You have now reached the level of Goodhearted of the path of love!

* Failure. If you get those messages just retry:
[12:07:20] You attempt to light the path for <Player>.
[12:07:20] <Player> does not grasp the question. he needs to meditate more.

After a path enlightenment the leader cannot do it again for 14+ days

Path Levels
A note to further make clear the timing for path advancement:<br><br>The information in the "Delay to reach" column refers to the time that must pass in real-life hours or days since you gained your last level in the path.<br><br>Example: When you first convert to a path (represented below as 0 level), you then must wait 12 real-life hours before you can try for level 1. During that 12 hours, you may still meditate as normal for meditating skill gain (even on Path tiles). But when you meditate on a Path tile during this period, you will receive a message that says you "need to let your recent progress sink in" for some period of time before you may progress in the path.
<br><br>Meditation path titles are not like other titles. They cannot be managed by the /titles command or viewed by the /title command. They are automatically added to your display name in the form of "<character name> the <meditation title>".

Main / Skills / PAGENAME

Description
Archery is a skill which involves an arrow and a bow.

Characteristic gained
Body / Body Control

Method
To shoot you need to equip a bow in your hands and activate it, and then right click on your target. Make sure the bow is strung.

If you have a target selected (player or animal, not archery target), you can also use the 'ranged' icon if you have the bow equipped.

The arrows shot first are the ones in your quiver on your body, next are the ones in your quiver in your inventory, and last are the ones in your inventory. If you have an empty quiver in your inventory, no arrows in your inventory or in other quivers in your inventory will be shot.

If a quiver is found in the inventory but it is empty, no arrow will be shot. This gives you good control over which arrows are shot. Arrows are fired in the following order: 1. War arrows, 2. Hunting arrows, 3. Arrow shafts.

*The best bows are made from willow.
*Arrows made from cedar are easier to improve.
*Arrows made from maple take less damage.

*Quality of the bow string affects hit chance and the chance that it breaks.
*Quality of the arrow affects hit chance and the chance that it breaks.
*Quality of the bow affects the damage done.

*Archery has a lower hit chance during the night (from 21:00 to 06:00 wurm time).

*Wearing a shield can significantly increase the rate at which you block arrows.
*Bows work best when fired at their best range. If you try to fire closer than their minimum range you will not shoot.
Bow || Minimum Range || Best Range
Short Bow|| None || 5 Tiles
Bow|| 5 Tiles || 10 Tiles
Long Bow|| 10 tiles || 20 Tiles

Enchanting
In general anything that affects speed, accuracy or skill gain works on the bow only. Anything that affects damage works only on arrows.
* The following enchantments are known to work fully on bows : Blessings of the Dark, Bloodthirst, Circle of Cunning, and Nimbleness.
* The following enchantments are known to work on arrows: Demise spells, Flaming Aura, Frostbrand, Rotten Touch, Venom and presumably Life Transfer and Mind Stealer.
* Wind of Ages is believed to only work when practicing on an archery target.

Skill based options
At various points in your bow skill progression you get the following special shooting options:
* When you have 30 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the Shoot Quickly option. <br>
* When you have 35 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the Aim at Torso option. <br>
* When you have 40 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the Aim at right arm and Aim at left arm options. <br>
* When you have 50 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the Aim at Head option. <br>
* When you have 60 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the Aim at Face option. <br>
* When you have 70 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the Aim at Legs option. <br>

Damage
There are a number of factors which dictate roughly how much damage you'll deliver when shooting a target.
*Height bonus, shooting down at your target will increase damage, shooting up will reduce it.
*Arrow quality, higher quality arrows do more damage
*Bow quality, higher quality bows do more damage
*Criticals, they can happen
*Armour, reduces the amount of damage taken when the shot is successful
*Enchants, bloodthirst on the bow and FA/RT/FB on the arrows boost damage
*Creature status (champion/greenish/raging) has no impact on the damage dealt, if it takes 22 war arrows to kill a scorpion then it would take the same 22 war arrows to kill a champion scorpion.
For players armour is a choice but for animals its a set static value and generally the tougher animals have stronger hides. Using BSB'd arrows for a consistent quality you can easily see the relative defensive strengths of creatures. Unsurprisingly trolls, crocodiles and scorpions are difficult to kill with arrows while mountain lions, rats and wild cats are very very easy. From this we can see that an un-armoured player has roughly the same natural armour as a wild cat. The damage delivered has changed over time during combat rebalancing so it makes sense to occasionally revisit how many arrows it takes to kill a particular target type.

Skillgain tips
* You may gain up to 30 skill in a bow type by practicing on an archery target. The main archery skill is also limited to 40 while practicing on an archery target. When 40 main skill is hit, you will no longer be able to gain any skill from archery targets. It is possible to to gain 30 skill in one bow type, then begin a new bow type until your main skill reaches 40.
* Although they give less skill than real arrows, it is best to use arrow shafts when practicing in this way as they are far easier to make and won't damage the target too much. Arrows that arent broken can be picked up at the archery target.
* Firing on the target from outside your bow's optimal range will increase the difficulty, and thus increase your skillgain at higher skill levels.
* Practicing at night will similarly increase the difficultly, so if you find the skillgain slowing you may want to practice when it's dark instead.
* Beyond 40 skill the only way to gain further is by using archery on animals or in player vs. player combat.
* Archery Skills are effected by Sleep bonus!

Bowyery is the skill in creating bows. Creating the arrows for bows is fletching.

Bows are best made out of willow but birch bows are good too. The quality of the bow has an impact on the amount of damage done.
Tips and tricks
At least one player has found the best way to grind bowery skill is to create 10 to 20 of a certain type of bow. There does not seem to be a skill difference between improving a normal bow or a short bow, so going with a short bow is easier to make.

Once many bows have been made, improve them all to 10QL, and then increase them all to 10+ bowery skill. You will quickly get to a point where you need to make more bows to imp, so always have some new ones handy. A toolbelt is VERY handy to have around.

Short Bow|| None || 5 Tiles
Bow|| 5 Tiles || 10 Tiles
Long Bow|| 10 tiles || 20 Tiles

Channeling

Gaeron: Detailed explanation on how channelling works.

Main / Religion / PAGENAME

Channeling is the skill used in the casting of spells in order to enchant items. You will need to be a priest and have your god's statuette activated in order to channel.

The mechanism of casting takes into account a number of factors. When a cast is made your channelling skill, alignment, soul depth and spell difficulty are used to generate a result. This result can be positive or negative. As your skills and attributes improve the chance and degree of a negative cast will be reduced but never completely removed.

If the result is positive then depending on the value a power rating is generated. If the item cast on does not have the enchant already it will be assigned this power value. If the item already has this enchant then the power rating is updated and appropriate messages are produced. Here is where we get the improve or frown messages.

If the cast is negative then the cast failed and if the absolute value of power of the cast is less than the quality then nothing happens. If the cast falls between 1x quality and 3x quality then the item is damaged. If the power is over 3x the quality the item is shattered.

The absolute range of power generated is not actually known but from observations it is seen to range from at least -250 to + 103. At low skill levels on harder spells it is quite easy to get higher negative casts and unless you use higher quality items you can shatter a significant portion of the items being cast on. As you raise your skills and attributes you will be able to see the median moving. For Vynora priests watching the power of opulence casts makes this easy as you can have a large number of items all at the same quality on which to cast.

An important note is that the system is such that it is impossible to guarantee that an item being cast on will not shatter. At higher skills with higher quality items it will be very unlikely but it can not be ruled out even then. For a caster there is no such thing as high enough channelling, the more the better. This is especially an aim of Vynora priests as the more channelling they have. the higher the chance of getting a 90+ power on a cast in either Wind of Ages or Circle of Cunning, the two most desired enchants.

Tips for early skilling
* Fo priests should concentrate on Blessing, Morning Fog, healing and enchanting flasks of water with Fo's Touch.
* Vynora priests should bless things until 15 channeling, then Opulence meals/food items until 40 channeling (The quality of the food affects the chance to succesfully cast Opulence, so a high quality food results in less fails), then use either Vynora's Touch on flasks of water or the various item augmentations (Circle of Cunning, Wind of Ages, Frostbrand etc)
* Magranon priests should Bless objects and make Light token until 10 channeling, then enchant water with Magranon's Shield (in a flask for example)
* Libila priests should bless objects until 5 channeling, then use the drain spells on a penned animal until 15 channeling, then enchant flasks of water with Libila's Scale
* Using a higher quality statuette is not known to affect success chance or skillgain if it is augmented with Circle of Cunning.

Titles
* Channeler at 50 skill
* Conduit at 70 skill
* Casting specialist at 90 skill

Main / Religion / PAGENAME

Overheating is where you consume a lot of favour in a short time while channeling. To do this you would need to either sacrifice items at an altar or use gems to recover favour quickly. This state is normally associated with the gem draw method of recovering favour as sacrificing effectively counts as a thirty second pause in casting thus reducing the likelihood of overheating. Mind speed raises the ceiling before you overheat so if this is an issue then development of this characteristic is a must.

Most priests will either cast when their favour recovers naturally or cast after sacrificing items. In both these cases overheating is not an issue. The time a priest normally requires a lot of gems for fast favour recovery is when they are involved in PvP. This is where almost all known instances of overheating are seen. Typically it is the casting of the area of effect spells that will trigger this issue.

Once you've hit this barrier you will be unable to cast spells until the cool down effect expires. This appears to be approximately two minutes after each cast so the cool down is complete two minutes after your last cast. If you cast again before the cool down is complete then its possible to pass the threshold again immediately and have to wait again.

As a comparison think of it as a leaky bucket. The holes are the cool down mechanism but every time you cast you dump a load of water in. The more favour you used, the more water goes in. With the bucket you can only cast if the bucket is less than three quarters full. Space your casts apart enough and the bucket is always almost empty. Cram the casts together and the water cannot drain off fast enough. Get a big cast as your last one and you can pretty much fill the bucket to the brim which means you'll be waiting a while to cast again as it has to drop to only three quarters full.
As the Bone Altar reads, “Are you ready to join the Horde of the Summoned? Know that if you choose not to, you are against me!”

The Horde of the Summoned is a Kingdom with a long rich history of war, brutality, deception, and both victories and defeats. It is often perceived as the uncivilized kingdom that is populated by savages who follow no rules or honor, only hatred. The kingdom follows only one God, Libila, who requires her followers to use terror, deception, torture, death, and sacrifices. The Horde is not a kingdom for everyone, and new players will face many struggles, hardships, accusations, and will be forced to earn each other’s trust.

Overview
The Horde of the Summoned, commonly known as "HotS" or "HOTS", is the smallest of the three kingdoms on Wild, and often presents more of a challenge to new players because their traditions and small population. Equipment like tools, armor, and weapons are earned through work, dedication, and or PvP, and tends not to be sold abundantly on merchants. This gives players more sense of pride to rightfully earn their equipment as opposed to be given it for free.

Followers of Libila are meant to be evil, and are told to use deceptive tactics in order to succeed. Therefore you will not be punished when stealing, lockpicking, or even attacking fellow Horde members. Libila also possess some of the strongest spells for PvP, including spells that can drain health or stamina, create mycelium, summon zombies, and even rebirth dead animals (including Champions) into zombie pets.

The Horde of the Summoned is ruled by an Emperor or Empress, who is in turn chosen by the Cobra King at random when the position is vacant. The Emperor/Empress may appoint titles and honours, and their tenure is judged on the Kingdom stats viewable from any village token. The Emperor is typically considered a figurehead, and does not have absolute power in the Kingdom save for the aforementioned office appointing power.

The Horde of the Summoned exists around the Blacklight and The Shroud in the south of Wild, and hold a small share of the map primarily on peninsulas and islands. The Horde of the Summoned is at war with Mol-Rehan in the north-west and Jenn-Kellon in the north-east.

Features
*Mycelium, a corrupted and fungus infested version of grass that is unique to the kingdom is great for both crafters and fighters. By simply standing on mycelium it will over time raise your nutrition and food to the maximum amount, and at high nutrition you receive a 5% skill gain bonus. Mycelium will grow in houses and naturally spread to infect grass, dirt, and tree tiles if within Horde of the Summoned territory and Libila influence. Additionally a player can absorb a mycelium tile to heal their wound(s) instead of using cotton.
*Ability to butcher human meat, butchered from the bodies of tower guards or killed humans. This is in contrast to the other Kingdoms who are unable to obtain human meat from butchering humans, and this have less sources of food.
*Use of Libila spells, which intergrate the spells of Whitelight gods and are deadly in PvP.
*Ability to PvP other HotS players without penalty and steal their boats without penalty.
*A kingdom bonus improving skill gain in thievery skills, lockpicking, traps, stealing

An altar can generate an area of influence and it is possible for the influence from the altars of different gods to overlap. One will be dominant and when you enter its area you are told you feel the influence of the appropriate god.

This influence can be visible when you look at spell effects, you will sometimes see a faith bonus which is generated from the influence. The amounts vary (possibly on distance from the altar and its quality) but normally you can expect the bonus to reach a maximum power of 55. You will only get this high a bonus when your god's influence is dominant in the location you are in.

Once your faith passes 90 the additional faith counts towards your faith bonus. This means a 92.20 faith priest could see a bonus as high as 57.20 (55.0 + (92.20 - 90))

Faith bonus affects the success of your spells so it is a case of the higher the better.

You do not lose a chance if you meditate before the wait time is up or if you meditate within 10 tiles of the previous meditation spot. However if you were eligible to gain skill you will use up a chance no matter if you gained skill or not.

* Path leader:

* Student:

Path Levels
A note to further make clear the timing for path advancement, since there have been questions about this recently:<br><br>The information in the "Delay to reach" column refers to the time that must pass in real-life hours or days since you gained your last level in the path.<br><br>Example: When you first convert to a path (represented below as 0 level), you then must wait 12 real-life hours before you can try for level 1. During that 12 hours, you may still meditate as normal for meditating skill gain (even on Path tiles). But when you meditate on a Path tile during this period, you will receive a message that says you "need to let your recent progress sink in" for some period of time before you may progress in the path.

Main / Skills / Nature / PAGENAME

Description
Taming is a skill used to make an animal a pet. You can only have one pet at a time, so if you have a pet and tame another, your first pet will become untamed. Pets that become untamed will return to their normal hostile or non-hostile stance; ie. if the animal is normally hostile then it will begin attacking guards and players.

There is a penalty to taming for Blacklighters; taming is still possible but with a higher level of difficulty.

Only animals can be tamed; for monsters you need to be a Priest/Priestess and a follower of Magranon or Libila.
* A Priest/Priestess of Magranon at 40 faith can cast Dominate to tame monsters.
* A Priest/Priestess of Libila at 40 faith can cast Rebirth to raise the spirit of a slain animal, monster or player as a zombie pet.

Characteristics gained
Soul / Soul strength, Soul depth

Method
You can tame an animal by activating an item that it will eat, then right-click the animal and choose Tame. For some animals the item is seeds, for others it is meat or fish (also fileted).

The QL of the taming item speeds up the taming action, for about 1 second per 20 QL.

Taming Skill and Status of Animal
* 0-10 Upset
* 10-20 Nervous
* 20-30 Submissive
* 30-40 Calm
* 40-50 Tame
* 50-60 Loyal
* 60-70 Trusting
* 70-99 Extremely loyal

The taming status can be used to know when your animal will go untame. When you tame an animal numerous times, then at a 42 taming skill, for example, your animal will have a maximum "tamed level" of [42]. Over time, this value will decay. Examining the animal to check its status can tell you on average how high this level is, with "upset" being the least reliable status, as your animal could go untame without further warning.

If a pet is hit, it will lose loyalty. Stronger animals lose more loyalty when hit than weaker animals.

Handling Pet
A pet can be ordered to go somewhere or to attack other animals or people. You can also lead a pet with a rope.

A pet can't be tamed by another person while it is your pet. A higher taming skill will probably make the animal stay longer as your pet.

You can decide if your pet should go offline or stay online when you log off. Right-click something and select <tt>Pet > Go offline/online.</tt>

You can give your pet to another person: right-click on the person and select <tt>Pet > Give away pet</tt>. They may need to type <tt>/invitations</tt> command first. They must not have a pet before. Their own taming skill must be high enough to keep the animal.

Pets and Combat
Bringing a pet into combat can be desirable, if it is strong enough it can give you a gank bonus and can more easily survive the fight. Against other players it may be enough to tip a fight your way. Against players however only champion or greenish pets are recommended and then only the stronger animals like crocodiles. Having your mount tamed means that it will enter combat with you too but often this means that in PvE whatever creature you fight will probably target your mount and not you. It is not recommended that you tame your mount for combat, this is an easy way to get it killed.

When in combat the taming level of your pet is very important. If it takes a melee hit then this can reduce its taming level. If it takes enough hits without dying it can go un-tame. This cannot be achieved with archery however, it must be a melee weapon. Thus when entering combat with a pet its important that the pet has the highest loyalty level you can achieve.

Having said that only the champion or greenish are preferred it should be pointed out that while a pet is alive and targeting an enemy it is stopping them from regaining stamina. If you can break off combat long enough to recover some yourself this also may be enough to put the fight in your favour.

Notice about Taming Difficulty
As of February 2008, when Mol-Rehan was introduced, taming was made much harder. While past mechanics allowed you to just try and tame again when you failed, the new system will make the animal go aggressive and attack you if you fail by too large a margin. Additionally, it will lose a level of loyalty when this happens. All animals also had their taming difficulty severely raised, making it very hard to tame a champion class animal and a gruesome project to tame even an ordinary bear with as high as 50 taming. You are advised to take extreme caution when attempting to tame something, preferably by fencing the animal in and taking refuge outside the gate if the animal goes berserk on you.

If you want to stop attacking a pet that has gone aggressive, move a few tiles away, right-click on ground and choose No target (if you have "Display 'no target' in menus" option checked in Settings).

If the animal has at least a single level of loyalty left after going aggressive from a failed taming, it will revert to its tamed status again after a while, provided nobody attacks it. Naturally neutral animals such as pigs, roosters, pheasants and unicorns will also return to their neutral state some time after a fail.
Don't forget that deed and tower guards attack hostile animals if summoned, but only if the animal is naturally hostile. For example, guards will attack a crocodile if summoned, but will ignore a berserk unicorn.

Certain animals are much easily kept tame than others. An upset status dog can remain tame for a day or two. However, be aware that a crocodile at upset or nervous level could go untamed any second since they are very aggressive animals.

Messages
; [The animal] sniffs the air and looks too nervous to focus.: Move the animal to another spot or off deed before taming.

A Good Guide to Raising Taming Skill
You'll need:<br>
1x cauldron<br>
9x meat<br>
1x pig<br>
1x pottery flask<br> and
water

1. Fill the cauldron with the water and put the meat in and cook it till it makes a soup.<br>
2. Get the pig and if you haven't done so already, walk it off deed.<br>
3. Get the pottery flask and drag the soup from the cauldron to the flask. It only takes 0.25kg of the soup.<br> 4. Tame the pig using the soup in the flask. Once it is tamed, repeat the process over and over till you have no more soup.<br>A good idea is to add 9 grains (rye or others) and 2 vegetables (potatoes, corn, etc) to the flask before the soup. This makes the taming use 0.005kg of soup, allowing one cauldron of soup to last much longer.<br>

Taming Skill Levels
*00 Pigs, Dogs, Rats, Deer
*05 Wolves, Cows/Bulls
*07 Horses
*15 Brown Bears
*15 Young Champion Wolves
*20 Black Bears
*35 Cavebugs
*35-40 Unicorns
*40 Crocodiles
*50+ Champion Unicorns

Beware: These levels are recommendations, not hard requirements. It is to your advantage to wait, however, as trying to tame at too low a level can result in your death or the loss of potentially hundreds of food items in the attempt.

You do not lose a chance if you meditate before the wait time is up or if you meditate within 10 tiles of the previous meditation spot. However if you were eligible to gain skill you will use up a chance no matter if you gained skill or not.

* Path leader:

* Student:

Gallifrey is an extremely new village. We started out about a month ago and are just getting on our feet. We still have a lot of work to do on the village before it is settled, even though we will never be done making changes.

Location
On the edge of the vast northeastern tundra/steppe. Settled right near the woods. Giving a rather large hunting ground to all sorts of fighters. To get to us please PM Telvanni or Atropos in game.
Coming Soon
We are working on our skills to provide a public service. Telvanni is working on weapon smithing. We plan on placing a merchant in the freedom market that will be selling weapons of all types and any types of tools that could be required to start your own place. Atropos is still deciding on what to do but when we she knows what she wants to do we will be adding that to the list of items that we are going to be offering.

I am seeing a pattern here in water based dishes. While in the case of Gulasch, you don't need water but it still works. It uses the same water to food ratio that I found for porridge: At the most .02kg of water for every .30kg of food. An easy way to get a proper ratio is to fill an empty sauce pan, use that water to fill an empty water skin. You now would have .04kg of water so just put in .60k or more of food. -AvatarJTC

At my cooking skill level (approx 27 as shown above) all "hot" meals I make are pushing me up to a max of 73% (usually 72%), and down to 65% (usually 68%) when cold. Tried making a more complex meal set (cooked meat, pumpkin, garlic, 2 veggies, and 2 spices) which again, gave me 72% when hot at 24ql. I was able to get porridge in a sauce pan, no more than .02 water per .30 grain. Perhaps the ratio is different in cauldrons? -AvatarJTC
:No, I tried with a sauce pan, starting with water from a flask with 3 grains and a potato and one grain. I also tried full water and then putting grains in it until no more would fit, spilling more and more water and it always said it makes dishwater instead of porridge. Someone mentioned s/he cooked porridge in a cauldron instead.
:I suggested testing it with a cauldron because I don't have the patience to thoroughly test it myself.
But also because getting so minimal amounts of water, that it's only obtainable through hacking around with the game is ridiculous and stupid. If one can't make a dish otherwise, Mr. Jansson probably just fucked up the recipe. --Ulviirala 15:35, 14 July 2009 (CDT)
Or fill a sauce pan then fill a water skin with the water in your sauce pan, that gives you a very small amount of water as well. I agree though, it's dumb how much screwing around you have to do to get such small amounts of water. -AvatarJTC

Gaeron: added further clarification

If you have reached this page then you have been redirected from a page which has been referred to but never populated.

The player to whom this refers to may have never intended for there to be such a page or does not have a wiki account with which to create such a page. Either way this page is a generic place-holder to help progress things.

You may :
*Ignore this page, the info you desire is sadly not here
*This is someone else's name
**The owner has gone inactive or quit. In this situation you can do nothing and the link should remain as is.
**You know them and tell them they don't have their own wiki page. Now its up to them to change things.
**They may ask you to update their page for them. You need to be careful here as there have been complaints when someone changes someone else's page.
*Its your name!
**You don't have a wiki account, well as it says on the front page contact Eir to change that.
**You want to create your own page in which case look at the top and it should have the undefined player tag followed by (redirect from your_name). Click on your_name and you'll be able to edit it. Remove the #redirect line and put your own stuff in.
**You already have a User:Player_name page and want to use that, in which case simply put User:yourname in place of the undefined_player tag and save. Now both Player:Player_name and User:Player_name will go to the same place!
**This is actually one of your secondary characters (alts) but doesn't need its own page. You can change the redirect to User:yourname or Player:yourname where yourname is your main chars name. This way you can group a number of your characters to the one page.

A helpful hint, every save appears in recent changes so rather than save/change/save/change do preview/change/preview/change/save. This reduces the spam for recent changes, something everyone appreciates.
