'''Guard tower''' is used for defensive purposes. It also increases [[kingdom]] influence, depending on the allegiance (loyalty to a particular kingdom) of the player who started building the tower. It also spawns [[tower guard]]s who are hostile to enemy kingdoms and aggressive animals.

== Creating ==
You cannot create a guard tower inside a building. Failing to start or continue, the material(s) used will be damaged.

Guard towers take up one tile, but will overlap about half a tile in a 3x3 tile area around the central tile.
When attaching the last piece, try standing a bit diagonally, to place the tower more aligned to the tile.

You cannot turn a guard tower after it has been made.

Guard towers must be built within your own kingdom's influence.

Guard towers must be situated at least 50 tiles apart. Towers may be built minimum 150 tiles from another kingdom, except 60 tiles if you are within your own kingdom.

== Influence ==
A tower will create at least 60 tiles of kingdom influence, unless it is at the edge of opposing territory. There are also such things known as "hidden zones." Hidden zones are areas that mysteriously increase the influence radius of an altar or tower by an unusual amount. Hidden zones are most commonly found on mountains or sometimes lakes. There are also hidden zones in places around the world, sometimes small, sometimes large. Hidden zones have been known to add up to an extra 20 tiles on a altar's presence and sometimes up to 100 tiles on a tower's influence.

== Destroying ==
Guard towers can be destroyed with a weapon, such as a [[large maul]]. Catapults have no effect on towers. You may only destroy your own kingdom's towers if they are made by you or are located on your settlement.

== Guards ==
For each 10 QL of the tower, it will spawn 1 tower guard, up to 5 guards.

Tower guards attack players of an enemy kingdom automatically. They will not, however, automatically hunt other hostile creatures within their range, rather they will only do so when ordered to by a player. This can be done by saying either "help" or "guards!" in Local chat within range of a guard tower, after which the guards will attack your current target.

Bulk storage bins are useful for many reasons.
*You can fit more than 100 objects into them.
*They stop all decay of objects put into them.
*They allow players to average the QL for items this is not normally possible for.
*They allow players to combine items it is not normally possible to combine, such as logs, and split up large combined items into smaller ones, such as lumps, cotton and woodscraps.
*It allows players to remove damage from unrepairable items without the [[Mend]] spell at the cost of having their quality reduced by a percent equal to the damage.

There are three major downsides. Averaging the quality of the items put in is not always a good thing, such as when high quality materials are required for improving. In addition, 5% of the stored items are lost every 30 days. Finally, any enchants, renames, and other "special" characteristics on items put in are lost.

==Notes==
* Finished bulk storage bins can not be picked up, but can be pushed, pulled, and turned like forges and ovens.
* On failure, the plank is damaged and the ribbon is destroyed.
* Can be secured like a [[large chest]] with a [[large padlock]].
* The 'Weight' column of the bin is actually the volume. A single bin can hold 16000.
* The model for bins will change when being half full to reflect its contents exceeding 8000 in volume.
* Items can be dragged directly from a container to the storage bin.
* Volume and Weight are not in the same proportion for different items, so some items store more efficiently in bulk storage bins than others.
* When you remove the last whole item, any remaining material of that type is lost.
* Only the creator of a BSB can destroy it.
* When a BSB is destroyed, all of the items inside of it are destroyed as well.

I'm not telling how I bypassed the IP ban for the forums, as I have no need to look at this page from now on. However, I happen to be Gate. (This was the account I made ages ago, and just looked up the password for it now).

I am stating that I will never be coming back to wurm, even though I have technological expertise to do so. If a mod just closes/deletes this right away, I don't really care. I'm just going to PM it to a few select people that I can call friends on here, and let them decide if they want to read it or not as well. But I thought I would throw this out to the public as well.

---MY STORY---

I started back on GV on march 23rd or so, and stumbled around. I had played wurm before, but was still a little rusty on everything that went on. So I eventually found a mine, and a tried to claim it as my own. I spent a total of ~4 hours chopping down trees, mining iron, and making them into lumps so I could make a large anvil. Unfortunately I had to log off, so I just left everything in my mine. The next day I awoke to find everything stolen from me. I then moved to a different mine and successfully attached a lock on the fence, therefore allowing myself to relax.

A week or so later, a wolf spawned into my mine. Being the newb I was, I could not survive against it, therefore making me have no place to go. I let out a few cries for help on PA help, and thankfully Azog and Rhaen came to my rescue. Upon killing the beast, they invited me to join their village, which I graciously accepted.

So we started on our journey over to HOTS lake.

The next day I accompanied Azog over to Powers' house to do some chores, so we could recieve a cow. That was the first time I met Powers, and i'm glad I accompanied Azog.

Over the next week we built an entire village up on the western shore of HOTS lake on the GV server. I did a lot of the terraforming there, which took a lot of my time. (This is how I got to 20digging)

Eventually I learned more and more secrets of the trade, and started to read the wiki more and more. Therefore almost beckoning me to be more vocal in "PA help".

Over the course of about 1 month, I believe I helped somewhere around 100 (newer) newbs with their problems, no matter how trivial. I answered questions, and even gave advice, even if there were PAs on. I am glad to say that 80-90% of everyone on the GV server knew me, and it was in a positive light.

After a while, everyone in our village started to become inactive, so I moved up to where I found a copper mine while exploring one time. I loved the view so much, and it was one of my favorite places throughout the whole map. During this time I got my mining and a couple of other skills up to 20.

A little time after that, I eventually decided to move over with Powers, as we were both anticipating the PvE server. So I placed a thread on the forums stating that I was giving away my house (which no one responded too :\), so I just gave it to Atlas. He was ecstatic.

So I packed up all of my belongings, and moved over with Powers, waiting and planning on what we would do once we got on the PvE server.

One fine day I awoke to a sign stating "I'm moving to MRH soon". So I took out my credit card, went to the wurm shop, and bought meself some premium time. Then I headed over to MRH with everything I owned. Thankfully I met up with Jiker, who allowed me to take one of his carts, and live nearby him, along with Praxius.

So I started building numerous amounts of fortifications all around me, so that I would be protected from any potential raiders, meanwhile talking to everyone in KChat. (Man I love KChat).

I recieve numerous offers to join villages (over the course of 2 gaming sessions with hours of playtime of ~8 hours straight each), and I might've joined one, but today I awoke to find out that I was banned from the game due to a blasphemous accusation of cliend modifications. Oh well, I would just like to say the following:

Thanks Powers, Lweena/Jade, Rhaen, Azog, Minari, Tanaris, Cyrusx, Gaffy, Garrettwademan, Onesickpuppy, Emoo, and Disciple.

Some of you I may not have known for long, but I still thank you a whole lot.

That being said, I'm actually glad I got banned for no reason. It makes me realize that I don't want to play a game where I can do nothing wrong, and lose everything I worked for.

I played this game almost non-stop. A little more than 12days worth of play time, and I joined late march. Thanks Rolf, thanks a lot.

Volume denotes the number of kilograms (kgs) of a liquid -- usually water -- a container will hold. The weight attribute is the weight of the container itself, not the amount of weight it will hold. Items list their weight although when it comes to storing them inside containers it's their hidden volume attribute that is used. For example a cart will only hold 94kg of cotton, but that same cart will hold 1,400kg of bricks. This occurs because the cotton has significantly greater volume than bricks do.
