Kamikazifly: gave more info on +1 alignment needed by Fo

Description
Wurm sports different kingdoms and different religions. A player may, within limits, change between each kingdom and religion. Choosing a new kingdom/religion may be done in different ways.

Changing Kingdom
You can change Kingdom either by a player converting you, or by converting to Libila, which automatically changes you to the Horde of the Summoned Kingdom. You must toggle '/invitations' command for this option to be available to whoever is converting you.

Use '/converts' command to see when you can change kingdom. You can only change kingdom once every 14 days unless you are HoTS. HoTS must wait for 28 days before a change.

Changing Religion
There are two ways of converting to a faith.
:*Any follower of a deity can convert other players, provided they have the statuette of their god.
:*It is also possible to convert by visiting the Altar of Three on the Chaos or Elevation servers, or the Bone Altar on the Elevation server.
Either way, you must satisfy the requirements of the faith.

Conversion by Follower
The follower or priest must activate the statuette of their God and right click on you, selecting convert under the religion tab. You must have toggled /invitations for this option to be available. You may only be converted once every 7 days, and must have a body skill of 1.5 or above to get converted by another player. You can't be converted if you're mounted on something like a horse or cart.

NOTE: It was previously stated you need 1 alignment to convert - This has been tested and proven false.
* Camberme and Griebo tested on Pristine with a brand new alternate account. A body was butchered to bring alignment to zero and tree cut to bring body to 1.5. The Stats were checked and rechecked before conversion. Conversion was succesful at 1.51 body and zero alignment.
* Vynora does not require +1 alignment. Fo does require a +1 alignment, otherwise in the event window it states Fo would never accept the player as a follower.

Converting by Altar
On the Chaos or Elevation servers, you may convert to a religion by approaching one of the great altars and reading an inscription. To convert to a White Light God (Vynora, Fo or Magranon) you must go to the Altar of Three and right click on the altar, select Inscriptions, then select Read inscription 1, 2 or 3 respectively. For the Black Light God (Libila) you must go to the Bone Altar on the Elevation server, right click on the altar and its inscription.

Chain armour generally provides a middle ground base defense with moderate penalties to speed. The wearer will walk moderately slower and have a moderately slower attack speed. Chain armor offers a defense bonus vs. stabbing damage, while the equipment itself receives extra damage from stabbing. A full chain set weighs 8.20kg and will slow you to 13.90km/h on cobblestone when worn.
The Path of Insanity is one of the paths you can join by meditating in caves. Some followers have admitted to seeing strange hallucinations, or have been seen to interact with nothing there.

Followers may get the event message "You feel strange and out of time." off and on, regardless of meditation level and rank. It is unknown whether this is triggered by something or completely random.

Bonus
Clean Wound
Gained at level 4

You get the option on wounds. This will clean the wound of any Rotten Touch "You gleefully clean the wound."

If the wound is not dirty or infected it will not clean the wound.

Fill
Gained at level 7

You get the option on your body. This will fill your foodbar to 99% and move your nutrition somewhere between 30% and 60%. You can Fill once per day.

It seems that 'fill' works in a similar way to fasting. The message displayed is

* You relax and forget about your hunger.

Teleport
Gained at level 9

You get the option on your body. This will teleport you to a totally random tile on the server (including water tiles, cliffs and probably lava). Can be used once every hour.

* You close your eyes and let your spirit fly.

Shield of the Gone
Gained at level 11

Wurzel (who first reached the level of Gone) had a chat with Rolf who said it's a constant buff that reduces damage and healing by 50%.
See discussion for more details.

Rolf later said that the exact amount of damage reduction varies for different wounds. Rolf did not disclose further details.

Recall Home
Gained at level 12

You get the option on your Body (in your inventory). This will instantly teleport you back to the token at your deed. Can be used once every 12 hours.

* You close your eyes and let your spirit fly home.

Final Breath
Gained at level 13

Your willpower now gives you the ability to deal a powerful short range blow to the enemies.

Final Breath deals medium infection wounds on the opponent.

You sharpen your thoughts into a shining arrow of energy with which you assault Young troll.
You thought pulse Young troll very hard in the crotch and harm it.
Your thought pulse affects Young troll.
You see a wound with ominously red edges and some yellow pus at the crotch.

Final Breath has a 2 hour cooldown.

The decision has been made to remove these spoilers because we felt it diminished the feature.
Path of Insanity Quirks
A large part of following The Path of Insanity is the player's character going crazy. This adds some fun roleplaying quirks that have no true effect on gameplay. Insane characters will occasionally see oddly named monsters that aren't really there. Also, randomly they may occasionally see the following message in their event window: You feel strange and out of time. This seemingly out of place message is actually the insane character performing involuntary, often disturbing emotes that other players see in their event window.

Hallucinations
Sometimes, insane characters see mobs that are invisible to everybody but themselves. These can be noted from a distance as they always have unusual names. They can't be interacted with, tamed, or killed. Reported names and creatures follow:
*A crocodile named 'Terror', another named 'Sickness'.
*A bear named 'Terror'.
*A small goblin named 'Watcher'.
*A black dragon named 'Scorn', another named 'Silent Death'.
*A troll named 'Scorn', another named 'Watcher', another named 'Rotten Blood'.
*A lava fiend named 'Silent Death' that gave off no light, another named 'Pus'.
*A white dragon named, 'Sickness'.

You feel strange and out of time
Nearby players may see the following emotes in their event window when an insane character receives the 'Out of Time' message:
*(Player) suddenly whimpers.
*(Player) suddenly coughs and looks nervously around.
*(Player) spits and froths disgustingly.
*(Player) stares at you with black eyes.
*(Player) drools a bit.
*(Player) shows (his/her) teeth and snarls at you.
*(Player) gives you a scared look.
*(Player) scratches (his/her) skin wildly for a few seconds.
*(Player) curses loudly.
*(Player) makes some erratic twitching moves.
*(Player) stares at his palm.
A support beam is a wooden construction made from logs, shafts, and iron ribbons intended to reinforce and support cave walls in caves/mines/tunnels.

Usage
* Activate a support beam, right-click a cave wall, and select "Reinforce wall".

Notes
* When creating, the quality of the shaft affects your success chance.
* A support beam is required on every wall of a cave tile (both sides) to prevent the tile from collapsing.
* A reinforced wall can be mined but not excavated.
* Support beams may be removed by mayors of a deed if the reinforced tile is on deed by mining the tile 40-50 times
* Support beams cannot be removed otherwise, not even by collapsing the tile that holds the support beams with a shaker orb. Because the support beamed tile is the tile holding rock, not the empty tile.
* Finished support beams do not fit into a small cart, rowing boat or small sailboat, however a large cart can hold 7 finished support beams.

Hint: If making a support beam outside of the cave, and using a small cart (or rowboat) to transport them, the best approach is to leave the beam unfinished (requiring a shaft or a ribbon), and finish it inside the cave.
Main / Bestiary / Horse

Description
Horses like this one have many uses.

Horse is a rideable animal primarily found on steppe or grass land. Wild horses (those that spawn somewhere in the wild) are grey. Bred horses come in one of 5 known colour types: black, white, grey, brown, gold.

Being mounted provides a very substantial advantage in combat. It is usually much easier to kill a strong opponent when riding. In addition, mounts are unaffected by the rider's stamina and health, which makes it possible to retreat from combat even with low stamina or critical wounds. Riding a fast mount is often the only way of successfully escaping some of the faster mobs (like aged trolls or crocodiles). This is especially true when carrying loads above a bare minimum, because horses are not slowed as much as players are when carrying a lot.

They can be lead with a rope by anybody without being tamed, but they are ride-able only with 21 Body Control. Horses can be tamed with seeds and some vegetables. However, as mobs attack tamed mounts before the rider and horses do not withstand much damage, it's usually wise to ride them untamed (to untame simply tame another animal).
*With the early 2012 patch, now untamed ridden mounts may also be attacked. Best to place barding on your horse if you wish it to survive more often. Tame the horse, put the barding on, tame something else to untame the barded horse, or it will also attack your enemy which may give it agro/attention from the mob/opponent.

Horses can be ridden up and down a straight 40 slope ramp or anywhere the sum of two neighbouring sides of a tile do not exceed 40.
*The slope for a horse was changed from 30 to 40 in early 2012. Other changes include a much faster turning ability while riding a horse and/or commanding a cart. While only turning, your horse will now move forward a little. A horse will now move much slower when ridden backwards.

One or two Horses can be used to pull a large cart.

Speed
A horse without speed affecting traits or equipment will have a max speed of ~18 kph (when riding it). Riding speed is completely unaffected by terrain type. It is the same everywhere on and off-road. Saddles and horse shoes will raise the maximum speed. A horse's gear can only be accessed or changed when tamed, and only by the tamer. When riding down 20+ slopes the rider will not receive wounds like when walking, and mounts will go neither up nor down slopes over a certain max, so it can be wise to ride to avoid falling off mountains.

Any traits, the horse's hunger, terrain steepness (uphill only) and the rider's inventory weight can affect the speed of the horse when riding. If the speed of a horse slows suddenly and without a weight or terrain increase then the horse is most likely hungry. Feed it something or get off and lead the horse to grass tiles. After eating or grazing the speed should be back to normal.

Bred Horses
Bred horses have individual (but not unique) names randomly chosen at birth. They can have traits affecting their speed and other characteristics.

Bred horses have 2 foal stages (young foal and adolescent foal) before they grow to young horses. All foals are bred, not wild.

Traits
Speed related traits will turn on and off at random intervals by design. See animal husbandry for a full list.
*"It has fleeter movement than normal." - This trait is known to create a small speed boost.
*"It has lightning movement." - This causes a much higher speed boost.
*"It can carry more than average." - The rider's inventory will affect the horse's speed less.
*"It has very strong leg muscles." - Slopes affect the horses speed less.
*"The legs are of different length." - This causes a very severe speed penalty.

Kamikazifly:

A ship is used to sail the seven seas.

Ships are made using ship building, usually started by combining two keel sections.

Most ships require some Mind logic (see Vessel Details)

Note: The small raft floats, but cannot be boarded, so does not even count as a boat.

Security
Without an attached boat lock anyone can use the ship. If the ship is not moored it can be dragged or pushed away.

The person who finishes the ship becomes the owner. This was changed in Summer 2011. Before that the last person who had the unfinished ship in the inventory became the owner. To prevent someone from stealing or finishing your unfinished boat make sure no one but you can get access by either building it in a locked cart or a small temporary house.

Ownership can be transferred by the owner in the vehicle management window.

The owner and any person with the Manage right can manage the usage permissions through a window available via the Manage vehicle menu option.

The permissions control drive (embarking as commander), mount (embarking as a passenger), accessing the inventory hold of the ship and managing the settings.
Each of these rights can be granted or denied to all friends, all villagers and everyone. The owner always has all permissions. The settings only take affect if the ship is locked however.

The owner of the ship can attach a boat lock to it to enable permissions. The lock can be removed by everyone in posession of the key but only the owner can attach it again.

To secure a ship from drifting or being dragged or pushed away it's important to moor it with a mooring anchor. A ship can be moored by the commander and any passenger but only the commander can raise the anchor.

On Freedom ships can not be lockpicked. Trying so will result in the message Stealing boats is punished with death penalty here. You decide not to.

Notes
*If you are building a ship larger than a small sailing boat inside a cart, it will become too heavy to drag. Make sure to move the cart next to water before it gets too heavy. See small cart to find out how much you can drag.
*The person to attach the last piece to an unfinished ship becomes the owner when it is finished.
*Currently there are no beneficial results from improving the quality of a ship.
*Ships with a quality of less than 10 cannot be commanded.
Description
A dark green stinking troll. Always hungry. Always deadly.

Troll is a very dangerous huntable creature. It can cause large wounds with its club, as well as bite with strong jaws. It can bash down walls and also regenerate health quickly.

*Can climb anything.
*Moves very quickly.
*Very dangerous. Can give up to 20+ damage wounds on a un-armoured person.
*30+ fighting skill with good equipment recommended to fight one.
*If killed, gives the title 'Trollslayer'.
*When dominated, cannot destroy fences/stone/house walls.
*Can pull carts.
*Drops 45ql 15kg shod club or steel club, which can not be repaired but can be mended.

Fighting tips
Trolls are extremely dangerous and should only be approached once you're certain you can kill one. They have a huge attack range so if in doubt its best to stay far from one unless examining from in water. In order to be absolutely sure you can kill a troll, make sure you have approximately 45+ fighting skill and some good studded armour. Trolls can give a deadly mauling wound which tops up to about 30 - 40 damage. This sort of wound should be healed immediately!

When in the 30-40 fighting skill range, these creatures are the best to train on with a group.
