A large table that is just decoration for now.

Once placed it cannot be picked up, so place it closest to where you want it.

With the furniture update from march 2013, it is now a moderately high table at about hip height, it looks fine with [[Chair|Chairs]] and [[Armchair|armchairs]] now. [[Stool|stools]] still match as well.
Press F2 to see your characteristics. Characteristics help when you perform actions depending on them. When a new character is created all characteristics start at 19.5. Like skills they are limited to 20 if you don't have [[premium]] time. Points in characteristics are gained much more slowly than those in [[skills]].

* Body
** [[Body strength]] - High strength allows you to carry more, do more damage in fighting and destroying walls.
*** 21 strength is needed to get the option to destroy a wall.
*** 20 strength is needed to unpave or dig on roads.
*** 21 strength is needed to prevent damage to a [[Bag of Keeping]]/Master Bag of Keeping upon death
** [[Body stamina]] - Body stamina reflects how much stamina you can have in your stamina bar.
** [[Body control]] - 20.50 body control is needed to be able to use the steal command, and to ride certain animals. Body control helps with chance to evade hits during fighting.
* Mind
** [[Mind logic]] - Primarily used by [[carpentry]] & [[smithing]], and affects how many action queue slots you have. You also need varying levels of Mind logic to command [[Boats]]. Mind Logic is believed to have something to do with Stealth.
** [[Mind speed]] - Primarily used in [[fighting]].
* Soul
** [[Soul strength]] - Soul strength helps defend against offensive spells cast upon you and casting [[Dominate]] and [[Rebirth]]. [[Priest]]s of [[Libila]] and [[Magranon]] need 25 soul strength to become a [[Champion player|champion]].
** [[Soul depth]] - Used by [[nature]] and [[cooking]] skills. [[Priest]]s of [[Vynora]] and [[Fo]] need 25 soul depth to become a [[Champion player|champion]].
==About Babel==

Babel is a project to list all of the pages on Wurmpedia by their name. It is also called "Alphabetical Index".

You can list a page in Babel by adding this wikicode to the page: <nowiki>[[Category:Babel/</nowiki>''LETTER/NUMBER''<nowiki>]]</nowiki>.

Please help to expand Babel so eventually we can list every single article in Wurmpedia.
}}

==Description==

Grass is one of the most common tile types in Wurm. You can find various berries and herbs by [[botanizing]] or [[foraging]] a grass tile. If [[flower]]s are present on a grass tile, you can harvest them with a sickle.

Grass can spread to dirt tiles next to grass tiles as fast as within 24 hours real life time.

Planting flowers on a dirt tile yields flowers and grass on success. This can be useful for keeping pens grassy to feed animals like [[cow]]s, [[bull]]s, [[horse]]s and [[deer]]. This also builds your [[gardening]] skill without wasting valuable [[sprout]]s. Note that animals can quickly craze or stomp the tile into [[packed dirt]] though, losing the flowers and grass.

Planting a sprout also creates a tile that looks grassy, but animals cannot graze on tree tiles. If the tree or bush is cut down, the tile turns into a grass tile.

If you dig on a grass tile, you create a [[dirt tile]]. All the grass tiles surrounding the digged corner turn into dirt also.

You can pack grass tiles with a [[shovel]] to convert them to packed dirt, e.g. for faster movement or for preparing them to be [[cultivate]]d into dirt or [[pave]]d.

Priests of Fo have less stamina drain when traveling on grass.

==Cut grass==
Like [[Reed tile|reed]] and [[kelp]], '''grass tiles''' grow to different lengths, and can be cut when tall enough. You can find the height of grass by examining the tile. Grass can be cut with a [[sickle]], [[scythe]], [[carving knife]], [[butchering knife]] or [[shovel]] (and possibly more).

Cutting grass will yield the following amounts of [[mixed grass]]:
*Medium - 1
*Tall - 2
*Wild - 3

==Flowers==
*Flowers checked just north of Esert On exoudus.
**Grass tiles with Thistles yield fluffy flowers when picked.
**Tiles with Daisies yield plain flowers when picked.
**Tiles with Light Purple, Rounded Flowers yield Thick Flowers when picked.
**Tiles with Rounded, Orange Flowers yield Long Flowers when picked.
**Tiles With Dandelions yield Furry Flowers when picked.
**Tiles With Blue Flowers yield Beautiful Flowers when picked.
* Spindle [[quality]] only affects the success %chance of making string. It does not affect the time it takes.
* Your action timer to make string is 11 seconds at 100% Stamina, regardless of your skill levels.
* The only way to shorten a spindle action timer is to enchant it with [[Wind of Ages]].
== Description ==
''Cloth rags.''

'''Rags''' are created from [[cotton]] as a side-product or as a result of failing in [[cloth tailoring]].
The quality of rags is 1/10 of the cotton it was created from.

== Usage ==
Rags can be used as [[bandage]]. 1 rags will bandage a light wound. Combine 2 rags to bandage a medium wound.

Rags can also be used to spin more strings of cloth with a [[spindle]]. Just as with spinning cotton, you need 0.20kg of rags to make 1 [[string of cloth]] and 0.10kg of rags.

== Notes ==
* Maximum weight of combining rags will not exceed 12.80 kg.
* Rags [[decay]] fast.
'''Supreme items''' were introduced in an update, Thursday, 29 March 2012.

Players may occasionally succeed in creating [[rare item|rare]], supreme or even [[fantastic item|fantastic]] items. These tools are faster, weapons do more damage, and armour protects a bit better. This may also happen as you improve or polish items and rare items may turn into even rarer items. Constructing new items using rare materials may turn the unfinished item into a rare item. Rare guard towers spawn more guards, for instance. More functionality will be added over time.
''This page is currently undergoing updates''

Wurm currently has four types of server: Tutorial, Freedom (consisting of Independence, Deliverance, and Exodus), Chaos, and Epic. Currently not much information is known about the Epic server type as it's still being explored and figured out. There is also a login server and a [[test server]] (which can be accessed via the wiki - see the link bar at the top left).

== Server type summary ==
The following table summaries the features of the four server types.
== Server type details ==

=== Tutorial server ===

The Tutorial server (Golden Valley) is where all new accounts are created. The aim of the Tutorial server is to introduce the player to the game mechanics. Players may then move on from the Tutorial server to other server types using [[portal]]s. Premium must be purchased to be able to move to the Elevation server. Premium time has no effect till the player leaves the server - the Tutorial server only allows basic accounts, so skills are limited to a maximum of 20. This means resource quality is also limited to 20. There are also no gods or altars present on the Tutorial server.

The tutorial was built on the Golden Valley server. New players are spawned in the tutorial area and cannot leave other than through the portals to the Wild and Freedom servers. However accounts that were active before the tutorial was created are currently able to stay outside the tutorial area. These accounts are able to transfer to the other servers, but some have chosen to remain. PvP, theft, deeds, and [[guard tower]]s are not allowed on the Tutorial server.

=== Freedom servers ===

Fully owned by the native kingdom. The entire server is automatically claimed as kingdom territory, so guard towers are not required to plant deeds.
Theft, PvP, and other kinds of grieving are frowned upon, and are bannable offenses in many instances. [[GMs]] will police these servers as needed, but ideally the game rules should take care of things automatically. Moderators police the kingdom chat channels to ensure the chat rules are followed.

A second Freedom server named Deliverance has been [http://www.wurmonline.com/blog/from-the-boss/deliverance/ released], the server can be accessed through a portal at the end of the Tutorial or by sailing across the South border of Independence.

A third Freedom server named Exodus has been [http://www.wurmonline.com/blog/from-the-boss/land-land-land/ released], the server can be accessed through a portal at the end of the Tutorial or by sailing across the South border of Deliverance.

The old Wild server became the fourth server to join Freedom. It is now known as the Chaos server and can be accessed by sailing across the west border of any of the three existing servers. Sailing back east across the border from Chaos will only take you to deliverance.

=== Wild servers ===

Wild servers are battlegrounds where different kingdoms clash together. There is no pre-owned land, it must be claimed by constructing guard towers. Deeds can only be placed within the territories claimed by the towers.
Full PvP is enabled between kingdoms, as well as internally within your own kingdom. The [[white light]] and [[black light]] are found on the wild server. Each kingdom on wild has a leader and offices granted to players by the leader.
GMs generally avoid intervening in wild server affairs. However, excessive griefing and other violations of the game rules will be punished as appropriate. On wild servers monsters are tougher and the terrain is harsher. [''citation needed'']

=== Epic servers ===
Currently not much information is know about this server type as its still in the planning and implementation phase. Epic servers will run scenarios that form the story. A scenario will have permanent impact on the world and the success is dependent on the players. More details have been given on the blog about epic[http://www.wurmonline.com/blog/from-the-boss/short-update-on-epic/].

Epic servers are up! Please refer to [[Epic Cluster]] for more information.
The test servers exists to test large game updates before they are added to the main servers. There is currently only one [[test server]].

Mthec: /* List of Kingdoms */ Updated the list a little.

Player Made kingdom is a feature introduced with the release of the [[Epic Server Cluster]] on Friday, October 28th, 2011. To create a player made kingdom, you need to
purchase a [[ Declaration of independence ]].

== Founding PMK ==
Founding a PMK requires the following things
* Be a mayor of a settlement, and stand inside your settlement
* Have 50 players in your deed or perimeter that are neither moving nor fighting. They don't need to be of one kingdom.
* None of the players are mayors
* Own a declaration of independence. These can be bought from a trader (price 1 gold)

Once you have these, you can found a PMK with the declaration. The declaration is an item similar to a settlement deed, or a trader contract.

The template kingdom is currently either JK or MR. The PMK inherits all specifics and models of the template kingdom. You will be at war with all kingdoms, including your template kingdom. The king has the option to ally with all kingdoms, except HOTS. The game also supports custom PMK models. So you can submit your own flags etc to the art team.

On founding, all the players are converted to your new kingdom, your settlement is converted, and any tower in your settlement is converted to the new kingdom. You will become the king and your settlement automatically becomes the capital, and the spawn point of your kingdom.

You need to control 2% of the wild server map to gain the bonuses of the kingdom offices. Other then that, the PMK works similar to the other kingdoms.

== New king ==
You can trade your crown to another player of your kingdom. If he puts it on his head, he'll become the new king. The other royal items are transferred automatically.

== Disband PMK ==
When all the settlements of a PMK have disbanded, the PMK kingdom will automatically disband, and all of it's members will be converted to the template kingdom.

== List of PMKs ==

=== Current ===
* The Mongol Empire
* League of Pirates

== Scenario description ==
Scenarios are only active on the [[epic]] servers.

On [[Valrei]], the [[gods | deities]] hunt for a number of rare items. One such hunt is a scenario. When the deity has found the number of items required to win the scenario (usually half) and brought them to the target location, the scenario is won and ends.
The god will then give your side bonuses, or the enemy sides penalties. These bonuses and penatlies can be terraforming events, volcano's, meteors, skill bonuses etc.

== Valrei maps ==

You can see the movement and progress of the deities on these (playermade) map, which are based on data from the xml file (http://jenn001.game.wurmonline.com/battles/entities.xml)

* [http://hom.creative-realms.net/valrei2/ Map by Gaeron]
* [http://strikelimit.co.uk/Valrei/ Valrei map by Jekev and Mthec]

Additionally there is a twitter feed showing the gods movements
[http://twitter.com/#!/valreimoon]

== Deity movement & Missions explanation==
On a normal square, a deity will move once every 3 days if it is not helped by the players. If the deity receives help, it will move after 6 hours. There are also labyrinth squares where movement will take longer. When a deity moves it will give a beneficial spell effect to it's followers.

A deity will give the players missions that they can complete to help the deity. One home server mission and one wild server mission need to be completed for a deity to receive help.
The missions are designed to be performed by a number of players based on the current active “base kingdom” (HOTS, MR and JK as template) population on a server in order to succeed. Sometimes the task will be too hard though, and sometimes it will require only one player to perform something simple on a remote location.

If you participate in such a mission, you will receive 30 minutes of [[sleep bonus]].

When a deity loses a fight against another deity or immortal, it will lose any collectibles and respawn at it's home square.

== Spell effect bonuses ==
Deites will give out certain spell effects when they have received help. They can also remove these spell effects from the opposing gods.

* Spirit Stamina: Stamina regain is faster
* Spirit Fervor: Gives 1 CR
* Spirit Favor: Favour regain is faster

== Deities allegiances ==
* [[Magranon]] will assist [[MR]] and any [[PMK]]'s using the MR template
* [[Fo]] and [[Vynora]] will assist [[JK]] and any [[PMK]]'s using the JK template
* [[Libila]] will assist the [[BL]]

== Immortals ==
Immortals are other creatures living on Valrei. Some are friendly to the deities.

* Nogump the Dirty, a fairly friendly giant whose stupidity makes him a bit dangerous. Friend of Vynora.
* Jackal is the ally of Magranon. He’s a trickster and apparently looks quite a bit like a Jackal. Jackal is also a moon you can see from ingame.
* The Deathcrawler is an undead creature who looks like a giant crayfish with a mummified human-like head.
* The Dirtmaw Giant is a slobbering, aggressive giant whos main goal in life is to trample things and keep his plains flat.
* Walnut is also called the Treekeeper. His home holds a cherrytree whose berries give the power of immortality, which is what gives him his nickname.
* Pharmakos, aka The Expelled, is the ally of Libila. He is a tall, pale creature with parchment-like skin who spends his time with alchemy and mystical experiments.
* The Scavenger is a black beast who roams the Wintertree Hills, searching for and devouring any sort of living or dead meat that enters the region.

== Source tokens ==
Source tokens can be collected by the deities to boost their attacks on other deities

== Player demigods ==
When a deity wins a scenario there’s a chance that he receives cherries that the spirits have stolen from the Treekeeper. This means that a player may receive the possibility to become immortal.

First the player becomes a demigod. He will become an ally to his deity and protect a random square.

If the demigod survives long enough for the same deity to win again and have the luck to receive more cherries, he will become a full deity with a religion of his own for other players to join. The religion receives a totally random set of spells from the existing ones. Also, when that happens the deity will start moving around freely on Valrei in the hunt for collectibles.

[[Complete DB|Main]] / '''The Curve'''
{{stub}}
==Description==
Skills on the [[Epic|Epic servers]] do not work as they do on the Classic servers. They follow a 'curve' where skill gain is faster at lower levels, and drops off the higher skills get. The result is that players reach a certain level of skill more quickly, allowing new players to reach competitive levels more quickly, whilst retaining some benefit for more experienced players.

Skills in the [[Interface_and_controls#Skills|skill window]] are still listed at their non-curve level however.

Due to The Curve the creation of certain items will unlock at a lower skill than listed on this wiki. (e.g. Lockpicks will unlock at 13.04, not 25.)

[[Account_Types#Basic|Free accounts]] do not follow the curve on the Epic servers. Once premium time has been bought the skills will follow The Curve, with no change to the listed skill.

Skill gain is also faster due to this curve.

==Formula==

The Curve's formula is ''y'' = 2''x''-(''x''/10)^2, where ''y'' is the "effective skill" and ''x'' is the raw skill number. For example, at 50 raw skill in mining, one can get 75 max. ql of ore, since their effective skill is 2*50-(50/10)^2, which equals 75 effective skill.

The reverse of the formula is ''x'' = -10*(-10+(100-''y'')^2), using the same x/y values as before. However this is not a full curve so it only works for the numbers 0-100.

==Exceptions==
The following is an incomplete list of skills and abilities that '''do not''' follow the curve on the Epic servers:

*Main [[Fighting]] skill
*[[Combat rating]]
*Maximum house size
*30 Masonry requirement to build [[stone house]]s
*[[Faith]]
*[[Lockpicking]]
*[[Farming]] yields (harvest ql follows the curve)
*[[Prospecting]]
*[[Digging]] slope
*[[Meditation]]

== Description ==
''A large heavy sword almost as tall as a ten year old child.''

The iron '''two handed sword''' is the largest type of [[:Category:Swords|sword]]. This huge sword attacks very slowly, but when you hit, it will deal quite some damage.

It is wielded in two hands, so you cannot wield a [[:Category:Shields|shield]] with it. Fortunately, it is better at parrying than other types of weapons, such as mauls and axes.

== Creating ==
* The quality of the wooden [[handle]] affects the success chance.
* If you fail creating, the handle is lost and you create a metal scrap.

== Notes ==
Previously, wielding this sword was not feasible when compared to the [[longsword]] and [[large shield]] alternative which offered superior defense and similar damage. However, due to changes to both weapon damage and body control, two handed weapons are now much more viable, sporting a fairly high parry rate and absolutely colossal damage at even low skill levels. However, weapon quality is of key importance with this weapon - as the damage and accuracy fallout on huge weapons is indeed, huge at lower quality grades.

Two handed weapons benefit enormously from [[Vynora]] enchants such as [[Wind of Ages]], which vastly increases attack speed, and therefore, more damage over time. The large hits also make [[Flaming Aura]] much more effective than normal, with 90+ potency enchantments adding up to 10 damage on a normal strike.

Two handed weapon skill can be raised by [[Woodcutting]] until level 20 on the classic servers. On the Epic Cluster, this is curved to approximately 11.
== Description ==
''A huge spiked heavy clump of metal on a shaft.''

The iron '''large maul''' is the biggest in its family of three, similar to a hammer except on a much greater level.

The large maul is something akin to what we know in real-life as a sledge hammer. Although named as a large maul, it is indeed a huge weapon and sports similar attributes to the [[Huge sword]] and [[Huge axe]]. The large maul however, is ludicrously effective against heavily armored targets and deals the most amount of damage to walls that any hand-held weapon can deal. Large mauls have a substantially longer attack speed than other weapons to offset the increased damage.

As with all mauls, the large maul has some capability to parry, but it is greatly diminished in comparison to the [[Huge sword]]. This weapon benefits greatly from [[Wind of Ages]] and [[Flaming Aura]] enchants.

The large maul is wielded in two hands, so you cannot wield a [[shield]] with it.
