Othobrithol: talk about spark in the eyes

[16:46:50] <Brashendeavors> if there is anyone with wiki editing priv, the animal husbandry trait "It has a certain spark in its eyes" if definitely unlocked at 41 AH

Player had just got 41 AH and confirmed on 2 animals minimum, first time that indicator had shown up.

"Venerable animals do not breed as true." (found in the notes section.)

My Venerable Ebencloud is still breeding like a champ. Unsure if he has the spark trait due to low skill, but doubtful because I suspect he was born before said trait was put into the game.

<Malaclypse>
I bred 2 venerable horses last night (all of my horses are now venerable). One of the pair was a plain "Venerable Fat Horse", so without any traits at all.
I have several horses with the spark trait, and they were born way before the changes and that trait was introduced, as I haven't bred much in a long time.

Actually I added it after Gaeron mentioned that venerable animals do not breed as well, at least in passing traits. They still breed; however, its preferable with a younger animal. --[[User:Klaa|Klaa]] 09:04, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

The result of my venerable's breeding above, father has 2 good traits, mother has none, both are white. Foal was white and had 2 or 3 good traits and one bad one, which seems maybe slightly better than average from my experience. --[[User:Malaclypse|Malaclypse]] 21:34, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

64 animal husbandry... was getting 1-2 good traits (occasionally 3-4) on foals from venerables until I killed them all and used just younger ones. Working fine now --[[User:Klaa|Klaa]] 22:56, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

=Certain Spark in its eyes=
Confirmed that animals with this trait will die of old age. I removed "cared for status" on a ven horse and she was dead the next morning. Long discussion in kchat (partially on my part to disseminate finding) showed that still nobody can report breeding a foal with this trait. == Method ==
*Both of the [[animals]] you wish to breed must be not hungry. One must be a male and the other one a female. Lead one of them with a [[rope]] (note that some animals must be [[animal taming|tamed]] to be led) and move it close to the other one. Right-click on the animal you are '''not''' leading and select the "Breed" option.
*Grooming also gives animal husbandry skill gains. Activate a [[grooming brush]] and select ''groom'' while right-clicking on a groomable creature. You can groom animals once per hour.

== Notes ==
* Animals must be of the same species.
* If breeding fails, you will receive a message that the male "shys away and interrupts the action".
* If breeding fails or is successful and you attempt to breed again, the male animal will show that he's "not in the mood" until 45 real life minutes pass.
* Females will not breed while they are pregnant. Once the female gives birth, the animal can breed again.
* Animals do not have to be "fat" to breed, only "no longer interested in food" (when trying to feed them). Grass eaters will typically be in this state after a minute or 2 on grass or crops.

* Longer blood lines will support more traits. (For example: A 4th generation dog can have up to 6 or so traits where a 1st generation dog (the first offspring from wild dogs) usually only have 0-3 traits.)
* The name is determined at birth, the traits are determined at breeding (noticed on a server revert on 2011-03-01)

Bred animals have a chance of having traits.(Enhancement/Deformity). Animals can have multiple traits. Examining an animal will show traits, if one has the required skill level:

* 0 skill: Horse's color is considered a trait.
* 20 skill: "It will fight fiercely." (High fighting skill?)
* 21 skill: "It has fleeter movement than normal." (Minor speed boost)
* 22 skill: "It is a tough bugger." (Withstands more damage)
* 23 skill: "It has a strong body." (Improved body strength?)
* 24 skill: "It has lightning movement." (Randomly increases speed for a short duration)
* 25 skill: "It can carry more than average." (Less penalty to speed due to high load)
* 26 skill: "It has very strong leg muscles." (Less penalty to speed due to slope? Does not currently do this.)
* 27 skill: "It has keen senses." (Increased agro range or possibly harder to tame?)
* 28 skill: "It has malformed hindlegs." (Minor speed penalty)*
* 29 skill: "The legs are of different length." (Major speed penalty)*
* 30 skill: "It seems overly aggressive." (Goes into frenzy when attacked)*

=== Inbreeding ===

With a recent change inbreeding is supposed to have a negative effect. It adds extra negative traits that don't count against the regular traits pool.

Inbreeding is mating with the father or mother or when the two animals have the same father or mother. Basically if you only can find two horses you'll be ok in three generations. But it might be better to mate with your neighbours horses.

== Caring ==

To prevent venerable animals from dying of old age you can care for them. To start caring stand next to the animal, right click the animal and select ''Care for''. If you start caring for that animal you'll get the message:
You now care specially for Aged fat Tearbabe, to ensure longevity. You may care for 1 more creatures.

The amount of animals you can care for is limited by the animal husbandry skill of the player. If you can't care for more animals you'll get the message
You may not care for any more creatures right now. You are already caring for 1 creatures.

You can care for 1 animal and 1 extra animal for every 10 skill in animal husbandry. So at 40 Animal husbandry skill you can care for 5 animals.

To stop caring for all cared animals type the command ''/stopcaring'' in the chat window. You'll get the message
You no longer care for the one creature you used to.

To stop caring for a specific animal, you will need to right click the animal and 'care for' again.

Large (size 50) village located on a scenic bay in the southwestern corner of the Freedom Isles. With abundant forests, a mountain to our backs and ample local clay and tar we have an idyllic setting. Akhenaten has a rich history as one of the largest and most diverse villages, with roots going back to Jenn-Kellon Home and connections to the Wild server. A '''steel lump''' is the result from combining a 2:1 ratio of [[iron lump]] and a [[temperature|glowing hot]] piece of [[charcoal]] to harden the metal. That means for 0.50kg of charcoal you need about 1.00kg of iron lump.

Using steel to create items that can be created with other materials has no effect other than what type of metal you need to improve it.

* The iron can be combined into one lump as only the amount required is used.
* Iron lumps of 1kg or more, but less than 2kg result in 0.8kg steel lumps while larger iron lumps will result in only 0.4kg steel lumps.
* The [[quality]] of the charcoal affects the success chance as well as the likelihood the lump will be high quality. It would be wise to not risk wasting high quality iron on poor charcoal unless you have a lot of it.
* The quality of the iron lump caps the quality of the steel lump.

A '''steel lump''' is the result from combining a 2:1 ratio of [[iron lump]] and a [[temperature|glowing hot]] piece of [[charcoal]] to harden the metal. That means for 0.50kg of charcoal you need about 1.00kg of iron lump.

Using steel to create items that can be created with other materials has no effect other than what type of metal you need to improve it.
== Notes ==
* The iron can be combined into one lump as only the amount required is used. However, this will only produce 0.4kg lumps while still using up the charcoal.
* The [[quality]] of the charcoal affects the success chance as well as the likelihood the lump will be high quality. It would be wise to not risk wasting high quality iron on poor charcoal unless you have a lot of it.
* The quality of the iron lump caps the quality of the steel lump.

The additional damage type caused by Rotten Touch is extremely difficult to heal by conventional first aid. Healing covers are often a necessity on RT wounds, as they degrade much faster than normal wounds, rumored to increase in potency as much as 2-3x the normal rate per server tick. In contrast to [[Flaming Aura]], RT deals larger amounts of damage over an extended period of time, likely after the fight is well and truly finished. It hinges purely on the hope that the opponent cannot heal the wounds caused by RT, however - where FA simply causes a larger lump of damage at the time. RT wounds stack much more viciously than FA wounds however, and are far deadlier as higher level wounds. A severe RT wound can kill a person if it is allowed to tick only once. RT wounds continue to damage for several ticks after the wound is made unless you either heal the wound completely or place a [[Healing Cover]] with a potency greater than the wound's severity.

Upon finishing the large cart, the last person who had the unfinished cart in the [[inventory]] becomes the owner. However if it was finished in the inventory no owner is set and the ''Manage vehicle'' option is not available even to the player who finished the large cart. Ownership can be transferred by the owner to any other player in the vehicle management window.

The owner and any person with the ''Manage'' right can manage the usage permissions through a window available via the ''Manage vehicle'' menu option.

The permissions control ''drive'' (embarking as commander), ''mount'' (embarking as a passenger), ''accessing the inventory hold'' of the cart and ''managing the settings''.
Each of these rights can be granted or denied to ''all friends'', ''all villagers'' and ''everyone''. The owner always has all permissions. The settings only take affect if the cart is locked, however.

The owner of the large cart can attach a [[large padlock]] to it to enable permissions. The lock can be removed by everyone in possession of the key, but only the owner can attach it again.

Another player can drag a locked cart regardless of what [[large padlock]] enabled management settings are used. Since server restarts unhitch animals, its possible another could drag your locked cart away. Two simple solutions are 1) to put heavy things in your cart or 2) store the cart in a secure area. As an example, if you were to put a [[small barrel]] in a cart and then a bunch of 100 kg unfinished [[charcoal pile]]s in the barrel, it would make dragging more difficult. Furthermore, management option will prevent these others from accessing the inventory or using animals to drive the cart away.

On [[Freedom]] carts can not be [[Lockpicking|lockpicked]]. Trying to do so will result in the following message: ''Stealing carts is punished with death penalty here. You decide not to''.

==Description==
Large (size 50) village located on a scenic bay in the southwestern corner of the Freedom Isles. With abundant forests, a mountain to our backs and ample local clay and tar we have an idyllic setting. Akhenaten has a rich history as one of the largest and most diverse villages, with roots going back to Jenn-Kellon Home and connections to the Wild server. The town has a very diverse community of title hoggers and casual players, of experienced and new players from all kinds of time zones. We value all players who love to be in our village and love to play this great game. New or experienced mature players will find a place for themselves in our community.

A '''large cart''' is a mobile [[container]] used to transport cargo or [[player]]. It has a larger capacity than its smaller counterpart [[small cart]], it can be [[drag]]ged by a player or led by up to two [[animals]], and it can be locked with a [[large padlock]].

Large carts can be difficult to start and continue at very low [[fine carpentry]] skill, so it is a good idea to make a few extra parts. The first plank is lost if the initial attachment is failed.

== Hitching ==
To hitch an animal to a cart, lead it with [[rope]], right-click the cart, and select "Hitch". To unhitch it, embark the cart, right-click the animal, and select "Unhitch".

* The large cart needs to be at least 10 [[quality]] before animals can be hitched to it.
* For convenient speed, it is recommended to hitch two animals; [[age]] does not affect speed.
* [[Brown bear]]s are the fastest draggers so far (''discuss speeds on the [[Talk:Large cart|talk page]]'').
* With a young [[bear]] and a young [[bull]] a speed of 12.96km is on a large cart over level [[cobblestone]] is achieved.
* The cart does not move faster when going [[slope|downhill]], but it will slow down a little when going uphill, just as if [[mounts|riding]] an animal.
* [[Tile types|Terrain type]] does not affect speed.
* Animals cannot drag a cart over tiles that have a [[slope]] of 30 or higher at any edge; move back a little and go around it.
* Driver [[stamina]] is drained while driving the cart. Running out of stamina has no effect on the speed. However, the driver might be in [[fighting|sudden trouble]] when being chased by an [[monster|aggressive creature]].
* Maximum [[weight]] animals can drag is currently unlimited.
* If the animals pulling the large cart are [[wound]]ed, the cart's speed will be affected negatively until the animals recover.

== Security ==
Upon finishing the large cart, the last person who had the unfinished cart in the [[inventory]] becomes the owner. However if it was finished in the inventory no owner is set and the ''Manage vehicle'' option is not available even to the player who finished the large cart. Ownership can be transferred by the owner to any other player in the vehicle management window.

The owner and any person with the ''Manage'' right can manage the usage permissions through a window available via the ''Manage vehicle'' menu option.

The permissions control ''drive'' (embarking as commander), ''mount'' (embarking as a passenger), ''accessing the inventory hold'' of the cart and ''managing the settings''.
Each of these rights can be granted or denied to ''all friends'', ''all villagers'' and ''everyone''. The owner always has all permissions. The settings only take affect if the cart is locked, however.

The owner of the large cart can attach a [[large padlock]] to it to enable permissions. The lock can be removed by everyone in possession of the key, but only the owner can attach it again.

Another player can drag a locked cart regardless of what [[large padlock]] enabled management settings are used. Since server restarts unhitch animals, its possible another could drag your locked cart away. Two simple solutions are 1) to put heavy things in your cart or 2) store the cart in a secure area. As an example, if you were to put a [[small barrel]] in a cart and then a bunch of 100 kg unfinished [[charcoal pile]]s in the barrel, it would make dragging more difficult. Furthermore, management option will prevent these others from accessing the inventory or using animals to drive the cart away.

On [[Freedom]] carts can not be [[Lockpicking|lockpicked]]. Trying to do so will result in the following message: ''Stealing carts is punished with death penalty here. You decide not to''.

== Notes ==
* The quality of the cart affects its [[decay]] rate.
* The volume of items will affect what fits in the cart. See the [[Container]] page for a item volume list.
* Although carts cannot be dragged in [[water tile]]s, they can be pushed.
* 47.23 kg of [[dye]] is needed to paint a large cart. The only portable container that can hold that much dye is the [[cauldron]].
* The maximum weight a player can drag in a large cart is determined by the formula: ([[strength|Body Strength]] * 7 - carried weight) * 10 - 240.
*Items can be stowed in large carts during construction, but will drop out when too heavy and will encumber the cart during construction. If the item becomes too heavy to remove and too heavy to finish, the cart will be useless and the item cannot be removed. If boats are being made in it, then it is advisable to take the cart to the water before finishing the boat.

Large (size 50) village located on a scenic bay in the southwestern corner of the Freedom Isles. With ample forests, a mountain to our backs and ample local clay and tar we have an idyllic setting. Othobrithol: Others can in fact lead it when its not on a foreign deed, but village members can always lead it

Some animals including horses, cows, bulls, pigs and pheasants can be branded using any at least very hot item. Branding works only when on a deed you are a member of. Once branded, examining the animal shows the village it belongs to and allows members of that village to lead it, no matter where it is.

Large (size 50) village located on a scenic bay in the southwestern corner of the Freedom Isles. With ample forests, a mountain to our backs and ample local clay and tar we have an idyllic setting. Akhenaten has a rich history as one of the largest and most diverse villages, with roots going back to Jenn-Kellon Home and connections to the Wild server. The town has a very diverse community of title hoggers and casual players, of experienced and new players, of young and venerable players, from all kinds of time zones. == History ==
*Founded Asgard (referred to as New Asgard) on the shores of Valkyrie Bay (JKH). Driven off by NSP/MG landbridge.
*Founded Birchshire Plantation on the Northwest Coast of Jenn-Kellon Home. Disbanded shortly after the Raiding Update.
*Moved to [[Ahkenaten]] for protection and made so many excellent friends that I am now a loyal member.
*Made the migration to [[Independence]] with the rest of [[Akhenaten]] on the first day it was openned.
*On July 2nd, 2009 I was promoted to Co-Mayor (Elder) of [[Akhenaten]].
*Rithol Manor was founded on July 19th, 2009. It is located just north of [[Akhenaten]].
*Before there was a mechanism to make priests on Freedom, Bloodcry was bought as a starter priest from [[Player: Nightfall| Nightfall]]...but may have actually belonged to an inactive [[Player:Ruka| Ruka]].
