Yes, I was genuinly interested, so thank you for posting that part.
And honestly, the comment about battlemaster should not be taken personally, I was just commenting on the tactics used to get the rank, Ie staying behind and
letting the others "soften up" the targets before you move inn for the kill, a totally acceptable and inteligent tactics if one is going to command a battlefield but of course
not as brave as charging up ahead of your troops (but meh, that tactic is suicide now anyway with archery). So anyway, well done.--Malvado 03:51, 10 June 2008 (CDT)

Removed reference to Balmore as he won't be displayed in Ranks (ask rolf to remove him from ranks since he has been banned, same was done with mastercheif) and it looks less like bragging, but feel free to add those references if bragging is intended, just found it to be more in line with the rest of the page to have it clean.

Recent (Gold 2 map - Nov 07) experiments on the Home server suggest only 10% of eggs will hatch into chicks, though this percentage likely varies based on creature populations.

Eggs will take approximately 30 [[day]]s to hatch if left in your [[inventory]]. Eggs also contain the unusual nondestructive ability to be "sucked", as right-clicking on an egg gives the option to "Suck Egg". This option is only available if you have no item active.

Bows are best made out of [[willow]].

== Tips/Tricks ==
I have found that the best way to increase your skill is to create 10 to 20 of a certain type of bow. As far as I can tellthere is not skill difference between imping a Bow or a Short Bow, so I would just go with a Short Bow as those are easier to make.

Once you've made a bunch of bows, go straight down imping them all to 10ql. Then increasing them all to 10+ your skill level. You will quickly get to a point where you need to make more bows to imp, so always have some new ones handy. A [[toolbelt]] is VERY handy to have around. Also, I suggest having an imping log, your to be imped bows, and your carpentry tools on you before you go to sleep, that way they are quick and easy to get at to make the most of your sleep bonus.

Player status effects are the individual conditions a player is assigned based on his/her interactions with the physical world. These range from conditions to do with hunger, to buffs from potions or trinkets to debuffs from wounds sustained by fighting or recent activities. The known status are as follows:

* Defensive/Aggressive - Bonuses obtained by using the individual fighting stances (See [[Fighting]]). Defensive is known to increase parry rate at the expense of strength and hit chance, while Aggressive is known to increase strength and hit chance at the expense of parry. [[Normal fighting]] is known to benefit or detriment neither.

==Description==
Skills indicate how good you are doing certain actions. The higher your skill, the more successful you are in performing that action.

===Skill gain===
Your skill-gain is the highest when your success chance is 50%. A lower or higher success chance lowers the amount of skill gained when succeeding. The further away from 50% success chance you are, the lower the skill gain.

Improving actions will usually give more skill than creating actions.

You may gain skill even failing an action - that depends on skill. For instance, [[lockpicking]] won't raise on failures, but [[carpentry]] will.

Stamina effects skill gain. If you have low or no stamina, you will gain almost no skill. It's recommended to have full stamina when you start an action. Action time also effects skill gain. The longer the action, the more skill you gain for that action.

===Family skills===
Parent skills help the success chance of their sub-skills. Sub-skills increase the skill amount of the parent skill. Some skills also have a ''nephew'' skill, which effects their success chance by a small amount. For example, one such skill is [[blades smithing]]. It's nephew skill is [[swords]]. So if you have a high swords skill, you succeed more in creating blades.

===Characteristics===
Each skill uses a certain [[characteristic]]. Raising the skill will automatically raise the characteristic, although at a very low rate. A high characteristic help the success chance of all the skills that use that characteristic.

Unused skills will start to decay over time. People with low skills will hardly notice skill decay, while the very high skills will have some trouble maintaining their skill level. Skill decay does not kick in within 24 hours of using that skill.

Decayed skill points are re-gained at 3x the normal skill-gain rate.

Being a citizen of a [[settlement]] can reduce the skill decay. The older the settlement, the smaller the skill decay. The info screen at the token of a village can tell you how much the skill decay reduction of that settlement is. It is displayed near the alliances information.

It appears that the recent changes to wind speeds have caused a bit of confusion when it comes to the common question of how fast boats can travel. Maybe we should do some tables and try to reach a clear definition?

Personally, I've recorded speeds of up to 20.1 kph when sailing as a passenger in a corbita, with a north-eastern gale blowing. The exact same wind propelled me alone in my small sailboat at 18 kph, clearly contradicting the old opinion that the latter is the fastest sailing craft. How about the rest of you?

I highly doubt the max speed is 2 km/h (solo), as you said, with the wind in your back you go much faster. This rather looks like someone was "sailing" straight against the wind. Just do 'toggle stats', watch your speed and fine tune your heading until you reach your maximum speed. I have done 31.48km/h solo in a [[cog]] and a gale in the back.

He has been playing wurm since the 4:th of March 2006, so he has a decent grip of the game. He started off at the second swec-village, which was located near newtown. Later on the swec-village moved to the east coast, approximately 30 mins south of East Haven. This, the 3:rd swec-village, was disbanded and the people moved to [[Independent Settlers]]. He quickly got bored there, so he headed back with Rotab to newtown where they settled at the old ruins of the 2:nd swec-village. SwedishPhoenix met Ivansimconia, who gave him silver coins and tools. He bought a size 5 homestead deed and founded "Long Live Swec" at the ruins of the 2:nd swec-village. Rotab quit and SwedishPhoenix met Zerobyte, a veteran BL. Zerobyte converted him and and he started his journey towards the valley of the cursed souls. There he met Malvada, who gave him a size 5 homestead deed. He set off, yet again, for the angmar valley. In the outskirts of it, he found a high plateau. There he founded "The Phoenix Plateau", and fell in a deep slumber.

Due to this long sleep, he forgot to become an ageless (OOC: Payment troubles ^^).

-Gold 1-

He was reunited with Rotab at newtown shortly after he met Steffe. Steffe had been in the very first swec-village, 1 year before SwedishPhoenix joined. They set off to the west to find a new place to live at. They found a nice place with silver, iron and unicorns. Here they lived a few weeks perhaps, and SwedishPhoenix declared it to be the 4:th swec-village. After a while people left. SwedishPhoenix was left alone, and set off for a new island. On the new island he found the village of [[Independent Settlers]]. He joined, but got bored yet again. He set off and founded "The Phoenix Plateau", again...

When he almost was ready with the flattening of the deed he got word from people he thought were lost in the mists of time. He moved back to the island to the east, and founded the 5:th swec-village together with Swedishtiger. He got word from Rotab and Steffe again and they were reunited again.
SwedishPhoenix got contact from several other people that had been in the 1:st or 2:nd swec-villages.
The deed got full, and people were forced to live outside the town walls. More and more people joined, and SwedishPhoenix founded Northern Light, a size 10 deed. At this time he had plently of elders to take care of the village. He left the deed in the hands of Steffe, and he set off for the island to the west again. There he seeked Zerobyte, to learn the ways of a BL again. Atom was sent to meet SwedishPhoenix, and he joined [[Libilian Outlaws]]. Rotab found his way here as well, and joined [[Plaguewind Spire]].

No one knows what happened here, but the world seemed to vanish once again.

-Gold 2-

He found himself in a forest, with many brothers in arms next to him, Rotab being one of them. They set off for the Bone Altar, where they were reunited with people from [[Northern Light]].

Together they set off to create a new home, Asgard. Asgard relocated to the top of a mountain range some months afterwards, and finally disbanded. The citizens of Asgard joined Libilian Outlawz, and some of them still reside there.

Lava spider/fiend charcoal weighs 1.5 kg while normal charcoal weighs 0.5 kg (uncombined).

1 kg iron + 0.5 kg charcoal = 0.4 kg steel.

3 kg iron + 1.5 kg charcoal = 1.2 kg steel.

Swedish Phoenix: Update

SwedishPhoenix used to be with the Horde of the Summoned, but he now resides in Libilian Outlawz as a Mol-Rehan. He was the founder and mayor of Asgard on the wild server.

-Beta-

He has been playing wurm since the 4:th of March 2006, so he has a decent grip of the game. He started off at the second swec-village, which was located near newtown. Later on the swec-village moved to the east coast, approximately 30 mins south of East Haven. This, the 3:rd swec-village, was disbanded and the people moved to [[Independent Settlers]]. He quickly got bored there, so he headed back with Rotab to newtown where they settled at the old ruins of the 2:nd swec-village. SwedishPhoenix met Ivansimconia, who gave him silver coins and tools. He bought a size 5 homestead deed and founded "Long Live Swec" at the ruins of the 2:nd swec-village. Rotab quit and SwedishPhoenix met Zerobyte, a veteran BL. Zerobyte converted him and and he started his journey towards the valley of the cursed souls. There he met Malvada, who gave him a size 5 homestead deed. He set off, yet again, for the angmar valley. In the outskirts of it, he found a high plateau. There he founded "The Phoenix Plateau", and fell in a deep slumber.

Due to this long sleep, he forgot to become an ageless (OOC: Payment troubles ^^).

-Gold 1-

He was reunited with Rotab at newtown shortly after he met Steffe. Steffe had been in the very first swec-village, 1 year before SwedishPhoenix joined. They set off to the west to find a new place to live at. They found a nice place with silver, iron and unicorns. Here they lived a few weeks perhaps, and SwedishPhoenix declared it to be the 4:th swec-village. After a while people left. SwedishPhoenix was left alone, and set off for a new island. On the new island he found the village of [[Independent Settlers]]. He joined, but got bored yet again. He set off and founded "The Phoenix Plateau", again...

When he almost was ready with the flattening of the deed he got word from people he thought were lost in the mists of time. He moved back to the island to the east, and founded the 5:th swec-village together with Swedishtiger. He got word from Rotab and Steffe again and they were reunited again.
SwedishPhoenix got contact from several other people that had been in the 1:st or 2:nd swec-villages.
The deed got full, and people were forced to live outside the town walls. More and more people joined, and SwedishPhoenix founded Northern Light, a size 10 deed. At this time he had plently of elders to take care of the village. He left the deed in the hands of Steffe, and he set off for the island to the west again. There he seeked Zerobyte, to learn the ways of a BL again. Atom was sent to meet SwedishPhoenix, and he joined [[Libilian Outlaws]]. Rotab found his way here as well, and joined [[Plaguewind Spire]].

No one knows what happened here, but the world seemed to vanish once again.

He found himself in a forest, with many brothers in arms next to him, Rotab being one of them. They set off for the Bone Altar, where they were reunited with people from [[Northern Light]].

Together they set off to create a new home, Asgard.

== Description ==

== Targeting ==
In order to attack someone right click and select target.
Then to attack just move up to the person. If you want to guard an area, target an approaching enemy and stand still. You will attack as the enemy approaches.

If you have targeted someone that is too far away and a closer enemy attacks you you should attack back. Shield bashes and stance changes will be made against the closer creature.
If you have your bow equipped and have targeted one enemy and right click shoot on another, you will shoot at the enemy you right-clicked.

There is a "ranged attack" button in the gui. If you wield a bow you will try to shoot your target when you press it. If you don't use a bow, you will instead throw your selected item at your enemy.

== Skills ==
The height of the main fighting skill determines your chances to hit, and which special moves you may perform.

The best way to train fight skill is by fighting opponents that are near your skill range, that way the skill you gain will be far superior than training against a creature that is either too strong for you or simply a very easy match.

Fight skill gain against creatures is capped at 70 skill. After that you will need to kill players to gain above 70.

== Stances ==
While in autofight (button in the event window), the game will choose stances for you. At low skills, no stance options will be available to you. More stances will appear with a higher primary weapon skill.

If you target your opponents left side and he targets your right side you clinch stances.
This means both of you have worse chance of hitting eachother.

At primary weapon skill level 50 you receive defensive stances.
If you choose one of those, you will clinch with a bonus in several stances at once, but you will not attack.

You can bind stances to keys, see [[Client Key Bindings]].

== Special moves ==
As your skill increases with your primary weapon, you will get the option to perform special moves in certain stances. One weapon type usually can perform about 6 special moves.

Special moves are kingdom dependent, so other kingdoms have other moves.
There is no need to try to learn your enemies special moves since you can't counter them anyways.

* Mol Rehan have quick stamina cheap moves that do less damage and punish the opponents combat rating.
* HOTS have slow high damage moves that cost more stamina and often drains stamina.
* Jenn Kellon have medium time moves that create multiple wounds.

Autofighting will try special moves when you have a high enough chance to use them. They use your normal to hit chance, so if you hit little it may not be worth trying a special move. You lose 1/10th of the stamina cost of the move if you fail.

==Description==

Special moves are gained when you have enough skill in a specific weapon. You can only perform special moves with your primary weapon (a weapon equipped in your right hand), and in certain stances.
There are about 6 different moves in each class of weapons, in each kingdom. Special moves cost more stamina to use than regular attacks, but instead inflict more damage, multiple wounds or add some kind of effect. If you fail to perform the move it will cost you 1/10 of the original stamina cost. The chance to hit remains the same as you usually have.

A [[:category:spells|spell]] of [[Magranon]] given to [[Priest/Priestess|Priests/Priestesses]] at 40 [[faith]] which uses 40 [[favor]] to cast.

This spell is used against [[monster]]s. It works almost like [[taming]], but has a lower rate of failure (based on [[channeling]] skill). It can be used to dominate [[monster]]s without meat and can also to dominate creatures that can't normally be dominated such as [[dragons]]. However, the only creatures noted to be successfully dominated are [[Troll|trolls]], [[Goblin|goblins]], [[scorpion]]s and [[lava fiend]]s. It seems that creatures with humanlike characteristics can only be dominated. It is also believed that uniques with humanlike characteristics can be dominated, but has not been tested.

*Dominate Lasts approximately 72 hours.
