[[Main Page]] / [[Religion]] / '''{{PAGENAME}}'''
== Description ==
'''Priests''' are [[player]]s who have completely devoted themselves to their chosen [[god]] (or [[deity]]). The priest is rewarded for their devotion by the ability to cast [[spells]] and the chance to become a [[Champion player|champion]].

== Converting ==
{{main|Convert}}
To become a priest a [[follower]] can either make a pilgrimage to the [[white light]]'s '''[[Altar of Three]]''' on [[Chaos]] or [[Elevation]], or the [[black light]]'s '''[[Bone Altar]]''' on [[Elevation]], depending on the god they follow. Another [[priest]] of the same religion may also convert a follower if the requirements are right (PvE Servers only).

* The follower requires a minimum of 30 [[faith]] when to be converted by a priest, and the priest must have at least 40.
* On [[Chaos]] a follower with 30 faith may visit the [[Altar of Three]] or [[Bone Altar]] to become a priest.
* On the [[Epic]] cluster with 30 faith may visit the Altar of Three or Bone Altar on [[Elevation]] to become a priest.
;* Any character wishing to become a priest must have active [[premium]] time.

; Altar Text
{{event|inline|You may chose to become a priest of <your god>
If you answer yes, you will receive special powers from your deity, such as the ability to cast spells.
You must also walk this path if you strive to become a Champion of <your god>.
You will however by very limited in what you can do.
You will for instance not be able to do such things as dig, mine, improve items, or use alchemy.
You will also not be able to steal, pick locks or destroy structures to mention just a few other limitations.
If you later decide to become a Champion of <your god> these restrictions will be lifted.
As a Champion, you may only escape death a few times though.
If your faith ever fails you, you will lose your priesthood.
Do you want to become a priest of <your god> despite the severe limitations it will have on your actions?}}

=== Changing faith ===
If a priest ever feels the need to begin worshiping a different god, they may be converted by a follower of that faith. Doing so will reduce the faith of the converted to 20% of the preaching skill of the converter, meaning they will no longer be a priest. As above, either of the special altars may also be used, but this will result in faith being set to 1.

== Restrictions ==
With great power comes restriction; priests forbidden by their gods from undertaking a multitude of activities. Although it's possible to go unfaithful and ignore your god, the repercussions are not accepted well. Faith will be removed if the actions are noticed by the gods.

Priests typically cannot do any of the following actions (any exceptions are listed in the table below). See the table below for details.
* [[Improve]] or destroy/bash items, walls or structures, or [[repair]] structures. However they are permitted to create, continue and plan items and structures.
* [[digging|Dig]] or [[Woodcutting|cut wood]]
* Pack dirt or [[pave]].
* [[Mine]], [[prospect]], or tunnel.
* Cannot [[steal]].
|}

== Losing faith ==
Going against the will of a god will anger them and as a result the priest will lose faith, the amount lost depends entirely on the action taken. If a priest is to ever drop below 30 faith they will be stripped of their priesthood and re-join the ranks of the followers with an added 10 point loss in faith, leaving them at 20.

{{event|inline|<God> no longer accepts you as a priest!}}

=== Premium ===
Once a player runs out of [[premium]] time their faith and favor will be limited to 30 and they will temporarily lose priesthood. Once premium time is renewed all skills and priesthood will revert back. Priests who are no longer premium become followers and are therefore not under the strict limitations described in the table above, meaning there will be no severe faith loss for going unfaithful while non-premium. However sometimes the gods will punish followers for disobedience, so it may be wise not to test the will of the gods.
;Faith gain beyond 30 is not possible for non-premium accounts.
==Description==

Spawned by the Gods on [[Astrology:Valrei|Valrei]].

===Abilities===
* Large (15+ tiles) aggro range.
* Walks through walls and buildings.
* Biting, hitting, tailwhip and wingbuff attacks.
* Can pick up and throw opponents. (This will dismount you from your horse)
* Once in a while "makes a circular powerful sweep!"
* Holds it's own very nicely versus 3-4 Tower Guards
* Quite fast, can travel at over 15 km/h

==Drops==
Eaglespirits do not leave a corpse when they die. Instead they leave a pile of items which includes a [[Valrei_item|Valrei item]] such as:
* Black Orb
* Charming Token
* Deadly Eye
* Deadly Feather
* Deadly Token
* Deadly Opal
* Deadly Shard
* Frozen Jewel
* Marble Diamond
* Marble Orb
* Rotten Eye
* Shadow Totem

These items all share the same description: ''A weird item belonging on Valrei.'', but appear to be a different pool of items from those of other Valrei creatures.
Do we really need to add sub skills to the chart? Most sub skills give the same as their primary, and if they don't just add them separately.
Okay, I've been making charcoal piles now for a couple of hours and i see advances in both Mind Logic and in Soul Strength - but absolutely *none* in Body Strength as the table currently stipulates for coal-making. I'm going to assume that something has changed and that these are now the correct stats. Obviously, if I'm missing something, please undo my change. --[[User:Paola|Paola]] 04:24, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Could somebody please put the following into the table I started, I'm a bit confused with how Wiki tables work. :?
can someone make that list in a 2 collum table?(nr1 with the skill and nr2 with all the characteristics)
ty - [[shadow]]

=== Deprecated/New information ===
* "Having higher stamina means you can take more damage before death"
** That is no longer the case, is it? Everyone dies at 100 dmg.
* Body Control:
** There should be something about the ability to ride. Am I recalling correctly that you need 21 to ride a horse? What about other mounts: does riding them require more/less body control?
[[User:Yupps|Yupps]] 05:59, 8 September 2009 (CDT)

: The stamina thing is still true. Damage calculations take into account body stamina. Someone with 20 bodystamina would have a bigger damage wound then someone with 50 body stamina from the same hit.

: I've edited body control to show riding, it's specified more on the body control page itself. --[[User:Manny|Manny]] 10:39, 8 September 2009 (CDT)

Zao: /* Losing champion status */

== The [[Altar of Three]] text ==
Your faith and soul are strong enough to become a Champion of <god>.

The decision to do this is extremely dangerous.
You will immediately get a boost of power, granted by Magranon.
You will get some temporary bonuses to your characteristics (5 points each) and certain other skills.
You will be able to withstand a lot more physical damage.
Champions are expected to face dangers and assault the enemy.
This means that unless they enter enemy territory now and then they will lose certain powers.
Your faith and favor will be set to max, and you may not lose or change deity.
But first and foremost, your name will live in the history of Wurm forever!

==Champion points==
You start out with 15 champion points.
You lose 1 point every day.
You can have max 30 points.
You gain 3 points for draining an enemy deed with 5+ guards.
You gain 5 points for being involved in a kill on an enemy champion.
You lose 10 points when you die for whatever reason.
You gain 1 point when you are involved in a kill on an enemy with 50+ fight skill. You may gain a point like this 1 time per day from the same player and 10 times from the same player.
===Losing champion status===
When you lose champion status you lose 1 extra point in every stat on top of the 5 you gained when you became champion. Your channeling is reset to what it was before. Faith is set to 50. You can't become a champion for a year in real life time.
==Becoming a champion==
* To become a champion, you will need to be a [[priest]] with 50+ [[faith]].
* If you are a follower of [[Fo]] or [[Vynora]], you will need to have 23 [[soul depth]].
* If you are a follower of [[Magranon]] or [[Libila]], you will need to have 25 [[soul strength]].
* Followers of the [[White Light]] [[gods]] have to visit the [[Altar of Three]] to trigger champion hood.
* Followers of [[Libila]] have to visit the [[Bone Altar]] to trigger champion hood.
* Once you trigger championhood, a server wide event message is spread informing everybody on the server that you are now a champion.
e.g ''<Player name> is now a Champion of <God name>!''
* Maximum 3 Magranon champions for Mol Rehan, 3 Vynora or Fo champions for Jenn Kellon, and 6 Libila champions for Horde of the Summoned.

==Bonuses==
* +5 to all [[characteristics]] skills.
* [[Faith]] set to 99.99 (you can continue to pray & gain faith, but only at about 0.000010)
* [[Praying]], [[Channeling]] and [[exorcism]] all get 50+your original skill, up to a maximum of 80.
* You receive a 60% damage reduction bonus which stacks with armour, so you will take lower damage wounds from hits compared to a normal player.
* Shorter time for normal [[healing]]
* Increased skill gain (factor isn't known)
* You will get a new title: Champion of <your god>(this title can not be turned off, but it does not effect other titles. So you can be a 'Blacksmith Champion of Fo' for example).
* You can never lose your Deity
==Introduction==
Eden is a laid back, secluded town where members are free to do what they want, when they want. We provide a safe haven for crafting, fighting, or anything else you're in the mood for.

We have every resource you need on and close to deed, many animals to hunt and plenty of PvP close by.

There are always projects in and around town that are in need of some hungry new players (or old) that are looking for a community to build and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty.

'''Archer'''

The self sustained Archer.

Either 70+ Chain or 80+ Studded
70+ Great helm
Any shield 50+
Medium or longbow 70+ (start off with longbow then switch to medium if desired, archery sub skill only affects specific aiming % but you won't be using them that often)
70+ weapon of choice
Bowstrings 50+ (Always have a few extras on you. I have 10 in my backpack at all times)
3 Quivers

The self sustained archer is someone who enjoys PVPing but doesn't want to be in the front lines. The Archer will eventually reach a point where he can make and imp his own bows and arrows, and he can then sell the extras for a profit, or to fund his need for tools and armor. The Archer doesn't wear plate armor as it slows him down too much. He prefers either high ql Studded (80 or 90+) or chain (70+) or a mixture of the two. When wielding a bow enemy archers will see that you are not wielding a shield and will target you so not only must you have shield skill but you must also practice being able to unequip your bow and equip you shield as quickly as possible. This is made easier by keeping the left arm and right hand part of the body section open and visible at all times. Your shield must also be moved to the top of the inventory screen for easier access. Make sure you practice this a few times and try to be able to do it in under 5 seconds (Quicker is better). A normal scenario is you have your bow equipped and are flinging arrows at the enemy, one of them notices and 3 people begin to shoot at you, you rotate your left side towards them diagonally and then unequip your bow and equip your shield, you then activate your cotton and begin to heal yourself. Once the enemy realizes you have a shield equipped AND a great helm on they will stop attacking you. If they don't then continue to heal yourself as you block the majority of their shots and start collecting free arrows.

You will want to eventually have three sets of carpentry tools.

1 Pure Coc high ql tools (Skill set) 70+coc (70ql when you start out and then eventually 80 or 90)
1 Set of WoA + CoC high ql tools (Quick imping set) 70+WoA, any CoC
1 Set of on the go tools. These should be 5-10 over your fletching skill. WoA/CoC is optional. This set should be easily replaced if lost.
Your skill set is what you will use in combination with sleep bonus to get your fletching and bowyery up. This should be done in a relaxed setting, most likely at your home village or on a war deed where nothing is going on.

Your quick imping set is what you will be using when you need to spam out a lot of arrows either for an order or when you are low on arrows.

Your on the go fletching tools are what you will take with you when you go hunting or when you ride out to PVP.

For logs what I normally do is make an entirely separate BSB just for these specific logs. I then make shafts from each log until it is 4kg and put it in the BSB. That way it doesn't decay and you can take it with you for long trips without it having to slow you down at all.

You can get a CoC log as well for grinding, just make sure you don't put it in the BSB!

You can divide your quivers however you like but most people end up doing something like this:

High QL War arrows
Med QL war arrows
Picked up arrows for sorting later
You can have more quivers if you want, like a quiver of 30ql hunting arrows for using to shield/helm check people. Mess around with it and figure out what works best for you.

Some people have a quiver of enchanted arrows, these are 70+ and have humans demise and an elemental enchant on them (FA, FB, RT, Venom). These can be used when a high level player has sustained a foot shot or something similar that slows him down and is currently being ganked. You will want to equip these as quickly as possible and start shooting them for maximum damage. Since these represent a large investment I would only use them on high value targets.

To be honest though, it isn't worth the effort if you don't have a lot of money or time on your hands as they don't do much more damage. The difference between a 50ql arrow and a 70ql arrow is not high but is enough to notice a difference.

The enchants for you bow are pretty standard, you don't want WoA because the effect is very small. You will want nimbleness, bloodthirst and coc.

If you have people that can give you high ql logs/bowstrings/bows/arrows and you wish to get into PVP as quickly as possible then you can ignore woodcutting, bowyery, fletching, repair, ropemaking. You will have to buy arrows though so you will need to buy silver from the shop or take up another craft to make money with. You can also survive off of just looting arrows during and after battles, but being a self sustained archer is so much better for you in the long run. In the end it all comes downt to play style and this is just a guide, tweak the skills to fit what you enjoy.

And now for the skills. I have put an Astrix next to the skills that are bare minimum needed to actually be usuful in a pvp battle (damage wise).

Stage 1 Archer
40 Shield skill *
50 Archery *
50 Fletching
50 Woodcutting
50 Bowyery
20 First Aid *
Stage 2 Archer
50 Shield skill *
30 Weaponskill
50 Fighting skill
50 Defensive fighting
30 Normal fighting
70 Archery *
70 Fletching
70 Woodcutting
70 Bowyery
30 Ropemaking
30 Repair
30 First Aid *
30 Animal taming
Stage 3 Archer
70 Shield skill *
50 Weaponskill
70 Fightskill
70 Defensive fighting
50 Normal fighting
90 Archery *
90 Fletching
90 Woodcutting
90 Bowyery
50 Ropemaking
50 Repair
50 First aid *
30 Animal taming
30+ Body control

After stage 3 you can pretty much go in any direction you want. Grinding any skill that gives you more body control is always good. You can continue to work on your front line pvp skills as well to help in ganks or eventually work up to being able to fight on the front lines as well. Most people end up being an Archer/Fighter mix.

Remember that this is just a guide, it is ment to give you ideas and a place to start but nothing is better then just trying it out for yourself, different things work better for different people. Experiment! Think outside of the box.

When weilding a bow enemy archers will see that you are not weilding a shield and will target you so not only must you have shield skill but you must also practice being able to unequip your bow and equip you shield as quickly as possible. This is made easier by keeping the left arm and right hand part of the body section open and visible at all times. Your shield must also be moved to the top of the inventory screen for easier access. Make sure you practice this a few times and try to be able to do it in under 5 seconds (Quicker is better). A normal scenario is you have your bow equipped and are flinging arrows at the enemy, one of them notices and 3 people begin to shoot at you, you rotate your left side towards them diaganoly and then uneqip your bow and equip your shield, you then activate your cotton and begin to heal yourself. Once the enemy realizes you have a shield equipped AND a great helm on they will stop attacking you. If they don't then continue to heal yourself as you block the majority of their shots and start collecting free arrows.

You will want to eventually have three sets of carpenty tools.

For logs what I normally do is make an entirely seperate BSB just for these specific logs.

I have put an asterix next to the skills that are bare minimum needed to actually be usuful in a pvp battle (damage wise).

Stage 1 Archer
40 Shield skill *
50 Archery *
50 Fletching
50 Woodcutting
50 Bowyery
20 First Aid *

Stage 2 Archer
50 Shield skill *
30 Weaponskill
50 Fighting skill
50 Defensive fighting
30 Normal fighting
70 Archery *
70 fletching
70 Woodcutting
70 Bowyery
30 Ropemaking
30 Repair
30 First Aid *
30 Animal taming

Stage 3 Archer
70 Shield skill *
50 Weaponskill
70 Fightskill
70 Defensive fighting
50 Normal fighting
90 Archery *
90 Fletching
90 Woodcutting
90 Bowyery
50 Ropemaking
50 Repair
50 First aid *
30 Animal taming
30+ Body control

After stage 3 you can pretty much go in any direction you want. Grinding any skill that gives you more body control is always good. You can continue to work on your front line pvp skills as well to help in ganks or eventually work up to being able to fight on the front lines as well. Most people end up being an Archer/Fighter mix.

Remember that this is just a guide, it is ment to give you ideas and a place to start but nothing is better then just trying it out for yourself, different things work better for different people. Experiment! Think outside of the box.

I remember waking up confused on an unknown shore. My head was pounding. Images kept flashing into my head and it took all of my strength just to not vomit from the intensity.

Laying on my back with my eyes closed I attempted to sort through my thoughts. I remembered smithing the previous day in my house at Eden and then going to sleep later that night. What had happened in between then? Had the Gods once again decided this body was unworthy of my soul and transferred me to another one? I opened my eyes slowly and stood up. My body felt stronger than usual. I felt quicker and smarter as well. My brain raced with the thoughts of tinkering and toiling with my tools back home. I hurried to my place and lit the forge. A couple minutes later I was hammering iron in a way that I had never done so before, and even though it was foreign to my eyes, it somehow felt familiar in my heart. My hand instinctively knew how to twist and turn the lump into the shapes I wanted. I stopped and sat down. This was too much for me to take in all at once.

After a few minutes I threw on my armor and grabbed a few weapons and ran to the north woods. With my head still throbbing, I looked for the nearest beast to kill. I didn't have to search long for a giant greenish spider jumped from the oak tree in front of me and I barely rolled out of the way. The beast let out a sickening screech and came in for another attack. Once again trusting my body I ran towards it at full speed. The great beast tried to slash me with its many claws but I parried and dodged them as if they were nothing and with a loud crunch I brought down all my wrath upon the giant spiders head and it collapsed in a heap. I wiped the sweat from my brow and started walking back home. I looked at my hands and smiled to myself. This new body was the best one yet. I was excited to find its limits.

The blade has been infused with a substance that gives it a bluish tinge. The handle is made from polished oakenwood and the grip is wrapped in champion crochide strips. The guard is inscribed with Vynorian runes. The runes make this sword feel lighter and more deadly towards humanoids. The runes also enable the wielder to master the sword more easily. Regardless of the ambient temperature, the blade is always cold to the touch, and it occasionally seems to reflect the image of a raging blizzard on its surface.
An '''enchanted tree''' is a [[tree]] or bush which has been altered by the Meditation [[Path of Love]] ability 'Enchant'. It is unknown if they have any special properties. They cannot be cut down, as the option to do so does not appear when right-clicked with an axe activated. They can grow and form [[sprouts]], but the sprout cannot be picked.

Enchanted tree can be killed by planting [[Oak]] or [[Willow]] near it. Tile will return to normal non-enchanted [[grass_tile|grass]]. Getting a Fo priest to cast wild growth on said Oak or Willow tree can speed up the process considerably.
==Introduction==
Eden is a laid back, secluded town where members are free to do what they want, when they want. We provide a safe haven for crafting, fighting, or anything else you're in the mood for.

We have every resource you need on and close to deed, many animals to hunt and plenty of PvP closeby.

There are always projects in and around town that are in need of some hungry new players (or old) that are looking for a community to build and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty.

See this topic [http://wurmonline.com/forum/index.php?topic=31807.0] for more info, and if you'd like to join, post a message there or message one of the elders or veterans in-game.

== The beginning ==

Once again trusting my body I ran towards it as well. The great beast tried to slash me with its many claws but I parried and dodged them as if they were nothing and with two loud crunches I brought down all my furry upon the giant spiders head and it collapsed in a heap. I wiped the sweat from my brow and started walking back home. I looked at my hands and smiled to myself. This new body was the best one yet. I was excited to find its limits, if it had any...
''Yum!'' Fish make a tasty treat when [[Cooking|cooked]]! They can also be eaten raw.

===Known species===
Fishweight is based on its [[QL]].
For each fish species there is a multiplier for this formula: QL rounded off to one decimal * multiplier

Minimum QL you can catch is 10.9 QL
<nowiki>*</nowiki> = damage on the [[fishing rod]] is based on the fish weight.

Formula: weight divided by 3 and multiplied with the shown damage multiplier, then rounded down to one decimal.

Note that it can happen to get +/- 0.10 damage in seldom cases.

Above a certain level in [[fishing]] a roll seems to decide if you get damage on the rod or not. The damage stays the same.

== Tips ==
Look for fish swimming in deeper [[water]] for better and bigger fish. A boat is necessary to fish in the middle of an ocean or lake. Smaller fish are excellent to use as [[taming]] meat, as they are usually very high [[quality]]. See [[fishing]] for more details.
Archery is a skill which involves an [[:Category:Arrows|arrow]] and a [[:Category:Bows|bow]].

To shoot you need to equip a bow in your hands and activate it, and then right click on your target. Make sure the bow is strung.

If you have a target selected (player or animal, not [[archery target]]), you can also use the 'ranged' icon if you have the bow equipped.

The arrows shot first are the ones in your [[quiver]] on your body, next are the ones in your quiver in your inventory, and last are the ones in your inventory. If you have an empty quiver in your inventory, no arrows in your inventory or in other quivers in your inventory will be shot.

If a quiver is found in the inventory but it is empty, no arrow will be shot. This gives you good control over which arrows are shot. Arrows are fired in the following order: 1. War arrows, 2. Hunting arrows, 3. shafts.

*Best bows are made from [[willow]].

*Wearing a [[shield]] can significantly increase the rate at which you block arrows.

== Skill based options ==
At various points in your bow skill progression you get the following special shooting options:
:* When you have 30 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the '''Shoot Quickly''' option.
:* When you have 35 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the '''Aim at Torso''' option.
:* When you have 40 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the '''Aim at right arm''' and '''Aim at left arm''' options.
:* When you have 50 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the '''Aim at Head''' option.
:* When you have 60 skill in a specific bow, you'll get the '''Aim at Face''' option.
== Skillgain tips ==
* You may gain up to 30 skill in a bow type by practicing on an [[archery target]]. The main archery skill is also limited to 40 while practicing on an archery target. When 40 main skill is hit, you will no longer be able to gain any skill from archery targets. It is possible to to gain 30 skill in one bow type, then begin a new bow type until your main skill reaches 40.
* Although they give less skill than real arrows, it is best to use arrow shafts when practicing in this way as they are far easier to make and won't damage the target too much.
* Firing on the target from outside your bow's optimal range will increase the difficulty, and thus increase your skillgain at higher skill levels.
* Practicing at night will similarly increase the difficultly, so if you find the skillgain slowing you may want to practice when it's dark instead.
* Beyond 40 skill the only way to gain further is by using archery on animals or in player vs. player combat.
