Road construction is very important in wurm, it lets you go places - fast. On a paved road you can reach speeds up to 17-18km/h compared to the 11km/h on grass and less then half of that on sand. That in combination with finding your way around (which many seems to have trouble with in wurm) makes it
pretty obvious that roads are a good thing to have.

And their soo simple to create! Mine you some rockshards by activating your pickaxe, right click on a normal rocktile and select mine. Next you need to pack the tile you want to pave, do this by activating your shovel and rightclick on a dirt or grass tile and select pack. With this done you activate the rockshard and rightclick on the packed tile, select pave and voila - you have started a road!
