After learning the layout of a few roads and towns, Syncaidian set out on a quest to find the portal of Freedom. Along the way he fought killer pheasants, pigs and dogs, many of which killed him a few times. He still manage to make it through however, and eventually reached a place called The Steppe, where his final challenge was to kill a young starving Cavebug that was blocking the only path to the Freedom Portal. The cavebug put up a fight, almost killing Syncaidian, who eventually had to flee toward the freedom portal in a desperate attempt to reach the lands of Freedom.
