Oak trees are slow growing.
Oak trees will also kill trees around it due to it's thick foliage blocking the sunlight. If your planting an Oak, you need to leave 2 tiles 1 tile of grass between it and other trees.
Oak wood is most useful for creating durable, wooden tools like [[mallet|mallets]].
