Paving is the skill needed to pave dirt, e.g. for faster travel on [[road]]s, covering your yard to prevent nature taking it over, laying the floor of your [[house]], or simply for aesthetic pleasure.
It is possible to pave under water*[1], for example to ease the exiting of the vessel onto dry land in a ship dock/harbour, and for aesthetics purposes.
