Description

You can barely make out the signature of its maker, '[name]'.

Certain items carry the signature of their creator or the person who finished it if the item is of at least 20 QL. Higher QL has a tendency toward giving a clearer signature. Unclear signatures have some letters of the name replaced by a dot. For example, Notch could be .o..h. You can see the signature by examining the item.

Pattern

The letters of the signature that appear are based on the length of the maker's name and the quality of the item. All names of the same length have letters appear in the same positions for the same quality range.
