Only North/South/West/East matter. <br><br> == Tdekker's guide == for those that have no idea what wolfdog is talking about ill try to tell it the easy way. first of all When you need to realise prospect on the world is 2dsurface, all tiles are pilars and no cubes (also the veins are pilars) when you prospect, you prospect can detect ore in an area of 7x7 area around you, thats . That's 3 tiles in all directions from the tile you are prospecting. Prospecting inside a cave is not counting done to find ores, but to tell specific details about the one your standing ontile you are prospecting. when <br> <br>When you prospect ege.g. iron ore on the sruface that means that somewhere within a range of 3 tiles around you(notice this also means it can be including the tiles behind you) the an iron vein is located. than what you do is You then try to find the places tiles where you can no longer prospect that veinthe ore. you You need to find a n/s one North or Side edge , and an e/w one East or West edge of where u can prospect it. <br><br>than go stand on Then count 3 tiles from both those edges and the most outer place where tile you prospected end up with is the ore vein and start counting 3 tiles to the center of the prospecting area. <br><br>if you do this for You cannot mine the n/s side and the e/w side u will know where vein tile directly from the vein issurface.  i dont know if u start If you try to mine on the location of vein tile from the vein if surface you will see it than so i advise u get the message <b>You fail to produce anything, the rock is stone hard</b>. You will have to start the mine 1 or 2 tiles tunneling in front of it and mine toward the tile that has the next to vein. <br><br>i hope me and wolfdog made it clear for you so that you will be able Sometimes grass, dirt or other tile types hinder the prospecting. Try to find the vein without allot of problemsa large rockface to ease prospecting.
