Simply equip your shovel and rightclick on a tile of clay, select dig and when finnished finished "clay" willappear in your inventory. (If it does not doesn't, you weren't standing on the clay tile). Next, activate one of your handhandsnext and rightclick on the clay, select one of the items above from the create menu - voila, your done.
