A shaft made out of wood. A shaft has many uses, mostly in the creation of [[carpentry]] and [[smithing]] items. It's also the first weapon you can easily get before you start [[smithing]] (though it's really not good as a weapon- using it is not advised unless you are grinding [[fighting]] skill). The quality of the [[carving knife]] used affects the chance to make one.
