*A Dioptra is a somewhat difficult item to make. Assuming you use a [[sightprotractor]] of about equal quality to your blacksmithing skill it can be created with as low as 30 blacksmithing skill. It is recommended to improve the sight protractor first before you try to create it.
*The protractor affects the unfinished Dioptra quality and ultimately the finished quality.
*Quality of Dioptra affects how long you can plan a bridge.
