A '''spawn''' in [[Wurm]] is where [[animals]] are created into the world. Most animals are spawned from [[lair]]s but some will also spawn on certain [[terrain]], areas of certain influence such as [[HOTS]], or can be hatched. [[Tame]]able animals can also be [[bred]].
Unique creatures are spawned initially at the cration creation of the world/[[map]]. Once a unique has been killed each month it will have a random chance of respawning. Exceptions to this are [[dragons]]; female dragons can on a rare occasion lay a [[huge egg]] which has a chance to hatch.
