This Guide is To aid Player who are gonna make a priest to get priest ready before hand and a Few tip and tricks.

== Starting Out ==

It is extremely important to research the various restrictions of each type of priest before you decide to create a priest character.
Full list can be viewed on the Priest page.

== Followers ==

You need to become a Follower before you can become a Priest and you need to have 1.5+ Body to become any sort of Follower. You also need 1.0+ Alignment to become a Follower of Fo, Magranon or Vynora.
or -1.0+ Alignment to become a Follower of Libella.

If you have recently been converted there is a 7 day wait time before being able to be converted again.

Your starting Faith is your converters preaching skill / 5 , so 1 Preaching will get you 0.20 Faith but 100 Preaching will get you 20 Faith.

== Being a Follower ==

You need to raise your Faith to 30 before you can change from Follower to Priest.

The fastest way to do this is to pray 5 times daily at intervals of at least 20 minutes. Praying more often will not affect your Faith but will help to raise your Soul characteristics.

While you are waiting on your Faith to rise, your best use of your time is to concentrate on the appropriate skills listed above.

Bear in mind that Priests are severely limited in what they can do so you may want to postpone becoming a Priest until your Soul Strength is 25 or your Soul Depth is 23 if you think that you may want to become a Champion later.


== Champions ==

If you later want to become a Champion you will need to bear in mind that:

* Priests of Libila and Magranon need 25 soul strength to become a champion. 
* Priests of Vynora and Fo need 23 soul depth to become a champion. 


== Preparation ==

Before you start your priest it will be helpful to have a few things ready:


=== All Priests ===

* Altar
* Bed

=== Soul depth for enchants thus mostly Vynora and Fo ===

* A Rake
* Farmland to farm and get crops from
* An Oven
* A Forge
* A lot of Frying pans
* A Backpack to hold the pans in a forge (38 Pans per backpack)
* A few animals to groom, tame and breed.

You will be spending Most of your time farming , cooking and caring for animals

=== Soul strength for attack spells thus mostly Libila & Magranon ===

*Pickaxe -Surface mining is the best Soul Strength gains 
*Grinding stone - Milling is decant Soul Strength gains
**Wind of Ages enchants is better as Characteristics are per action not per time taken.

=== Vynora ===
As Yoyo's are double sacrificing favour gains make sure you have a Spindle and Carving Knife
and farms for Cotton

=== Fo ===
As Square piece of cloth's are double sacrificing favour gains make sure you have a Spindle , Floor loom and a Needle and farms for Cotton

=== Mag ===
As Door lock's are double sacrificing favour gains make sure you have a Small anvil


== Important Skills ==

The skills below are important because they raise the important characteristics for the various types of priest.

It is very important to raise the following skills before priesting as raising them after is Hard.
* Body Control to 21 - Ride a horse (Players don`t like Having to go fetch a Mag or Fo priest for a cast
* Mind Logic to 20.10 - Ride a Sail Boat/Cart (Players don`t like Having to go fetch a Mag or Fo priest for a cast) - Can do cooking to raise this as a Priest.
* Digging to 15 - to see slopes on mouse over - Its aids in traveling
* Mining to 15 - to see slopes on mouse over - Its aids in traveling

== Support ==

* Magranon ,As door locks can`t be improved anyway and mags can mine they don`t really need support
* Vynora ,As Yo-Yo's can`t be improved and Vynora can cut wood all support that might be recommended is a Carpenter and Cloth tailor to make Shafts and Strings of Cloth.
*Fo, The can make pieces of Cloth and farming aids there SD but a dedicated cloth tailor is recomnded as there are other items that can be improved for skillgain.

Channeling, Praying, Taming (not Libila) , Alignment


=== Fo & Vynora ===

Soul Depth based skills are most important though, I assume, that all Soul raising skills are useful.

Botanizing, Farming, First Aid, Fishing, Foraging, Forestry, Gardening, Hot food cooking, Pottery, Tracking


=== Libila & Magranon ===

Soul Strength based skills are most important though, I assume, that all Soul raising skills are useful.

Masonry, Mining, Paving, Tailoring



== Becoming A Priest on Epic==

Note: Priests of Libila should find it much easier to get to the Black Light so the following is for White Light priests only.

When are ready to become a priest (at least 30 Faith and enough points in the appropriate Soul characteristic) you will need to travel to the Altar of Three.

When you are ready to do so it is important to make sure that you have at least two prayers left for that day (see later).


After you actually become a priest, by clicking on the correct deity, you should pray at the altar (thus the reason for keeping prayers available). After you pray, you should see a new purple bar appear below your food and water bars.

Having converted to become a priest of the god of your choice you may then /suicide back to the home town of your kingdom in Epic and, from there  travel back home if you live on a Home Map.

If you choose not to /suicide, finding your way to the White Light overland is your own task. In that case, the Maps page may be useful to you.


== Becoming A Priest on Freedom==
Any priest of your faith with 40+ faith can convert you to a priest with the statute of their god.


== Being a Priest ==

The most important things to do are to Pray regularly and to raise your Channeling skill.

Channeling is raised by casting spells and benefits from sleep bonus. The fastest way to raise Channeling is to have a large supply of valuable items to Sacrifice, especially while you have sleep bonus. Please read the channeling guide for each god on the Channeling page.

Alignment plays a mayor part in the success rate of Channeling a spell. Best way to get Alignment up is to bury a players or guards body or listening to a fellow priest sermon.

Praying ups your Faith but you can only gain faith 5 times a day spaced 20 mins apart. Holding a [[Sermon]] will reset your faith gain counter back to 5 so you can gain a max of 40 faith skill ups per day.

Farming (not Libila) and making Rope/Door lock is one way for priests to get high value items to sacrifice. It is certainly going to be faster to have village support to make you other high value items, such as jewellery, for you to sacrifice.

== And the most Important for last ==
Please do not think being a priest is easy money.<br>
It takes a lot of time and effort to get the needed skill up to be able to make money.<br>
<br>
Magranon is the easy priest to start making money as all you need is 70 Faith for Stongwall cast.<br> Vynora priest need a lot of Channeling and Soul depth to cast Enchants.<br>
Fo can do Genesis at 70 Faith but it aint asked for a lot and Mailboxes (Courrier) are high Channeling ans Soul depth needs.<br>
