At low skill in toy making better use low ql shafts or attach it as last part. At present it seems that ql addition from attaching the shaft is based on [[carpentry]] and not toy making! It may happen that you end up with a puppet with a ql much higher than your toy making skill and that makes it very hard to attach anything to the puppet after you added the shaft.
