A shoulder pad of this design increases glance chance against slashing attacks when equipped with light or no armour.

The double shoulder pad increases glance chance against slashing when equipped with Cloth armour or no armour.

Shoulder pads can be purchased with points awarded by participating in an active rift.
Shoulder pads take damage when not in the player's inventory, on a merchant, in the mail, or in a magic chest.
If dyed, shoulder pads must be removed and re-equipped to show color.
One shoulder pad is sufficient to gain an effect if the shoulder pad grants one.
The effect of one shoulder pad is one half that of a set of two.
Different shoulder pads can be worn to gain multiple effects, one from each.
