The following things can all be done with a few simple clicks:

1. Pottery flask.
2. Pottery Bowl.
3. Pottery Jar.

Simply equip your shovel and rightclick on a tile of clay, select dig and when finished "clay" will appear in your inventory (If it doesn't, you weren't standing on the clay tile). Next, activate one of your hands and rightclick on the clay, select one of the items above from the create menu - voila, your done.

Pottery Flask
Best used for carrying water, this is the hardest to make but also the least weight-carrying container.

Pottery Bowl
This neat item can be used to cook food in, can't fill it with water though.

Pottery Jar
This is the biggest and most easy to make pottery container, just fill it up with whatever you want, can also be filled with water from the seas.

Unfinished Pottery items
Sometimes you don't fully create a Pottery item and will have an unfinished item.
In most cases you will need one of these items to finish it: spatula, clay shaper or water.
