Oat is a form of grain, and is in Wurm used for several things:

Making bread: Grind with a grindstone to create flour and then combine with water to make dough.
Feeding animals: Hens need food to lay eggs, they love various kinds of grain and seeds.
Farming: Sow on a dirt tile to produce more grain which can be sowed on even more fields to make even more grain.

It is produced by botanizing or farming
