Description

Lockpicking is the skill used when picking locks with a lockpick, such as large and small padlocks on chests, door locks and gate locks.

When you pick open a chest, you will receive the lock in your inventory (not the key) and the chest will be unlocked. When you pick open a house door lock or gate lock, the lock stays attached. The door or gate will remain unlocked for 10 minutes Wurm time.

On each attempt of lockpicking, you can break or damage the lockpick, even when you're successful in picking the lock.

The success rate of lockpicking is effected by the quality of the lockpick, the lockpicking skill and for a minor degree it's parent skill thievery. The quality also seems to affect the chances of breaking; however, this is unconfirmed.

High quality locks will prevent any lockpicking attempt with lockpicks that are too low in relative quality.
