Meat is an important ingredient of meal. It is acquired by successfully butchering animals, tower guards, and players.
Butchering humans does not give skill.
Eating meat restores hunger equivalent to a stew.
When placed in a campfire or a stone oven for a period of time, it will become cooked meat.
Meat dropped on the ground attracts meat-eating animals and monsters. Most of the animals can be tamed (monsters can't).
