An NPC is a Non-Playing (or Player) Character. These so-called "bots" are implemented in Wurm to do certain functions such as trade, guard, protect, etc.
Examples
- Personal Merchant, owned by a player with a Personal Merchant Contract
- All the animals and creatures of the world
- Personal Trader, owned by either a player with a Personal Trader Contract, or a town with a deed size 10 or greater
- Tower Guards, guard the kingdom towers; see Spirit guard and guard tower
