Description

A decorative lamp head on a pole.

Usage

Lamps are used to light an area. Unlike lanterns, they can be planted much like a sign. Only can be picked up by the planter. The one week delay of being able to plant does not apply unless you have recently platned a sign, in which case it prevents lamp planting. Always plant lamps before signs.

When lamps are placed on a deed, they will light themselves in the evening (after you once filled and lighted them), and all lamps will go out in the morning (even lamps in mines).

Notes

  • When creating, the quality of the log affects your success chance.
  • When creating, the quality of the lamp head affects the initial quality of the resulting lamp.
  • If you fail creating, the log is lost and you create a metal scrap (0.80kg).
  • Lamp heads from different metals may differ in their light intensity, for example brass lamps illuminate the area better than iron lamps.
  • Lamps need 0.125kg of tar or olive oil as fuel to fill to max capacity.
  • Consumes 0.06kg of dye when painting, the dye will also affect the colour of the light the lamp emmits.
  • The lamp quality determines how far the lamp can illuminate.

Material specialities

  • Brass lamps glow the brightest.
  • Bronze lamps give a deep brown.
  • Copper lamps glow orange.
  • Silver lamps cast white light.
