General

Homestead deeds are used to create homesteads. These cannot be created, they must be purchased from a trader, and are at a set price.

A homestead deed gives you a settlement token, which has a bank, Spirit guards, and information and rules about the settlement you can set.

Homestead deeds come in various sizes and prices. The bigger the size, the higher the cost.
Homesteads can only be founded in your. To create kingdom territory, build a Guard Tower.
Homesteads must be at least 100 tiles away from each other or from a Village deed. Unless the mayor of the existing village/homstead has changed the setting which allows deeds within 20 tiles of each other. This setting can be turned on to allow an allie to plant a deed then off again to prevent enemies from planting one later. One of the deeds must be a homestead for this 20 tile distance to work, however, 2 village deeds must always be 100 tiles apart.

Size and area of control

Higher sizes claim more land. The area claimed is the deed's size in a radius around the token.
The formula is Size*2+1.
For example a size 5 deed will have a control area of 11x11 tiles and a size 10 21x21. ( Deed size x2 +1, so a size 100 deed will extend 201x201 tiles)

Upkeep

Homestead deeds require upkeep which is taken from an upkeep fund that everybody can donate to from the deed. You donate money to the upkeep from your bank account.

The homestead empties the upkeep fund continously though the cost can be measured per month.
The upkeep cost depends on your guard level and is a percentage of the deed's original purchase cost.

This means that a size 5 homestead deed, which costs 5 silver, on light guards has an upkeep cost of 50 copper per month.

The guard level can be increased at anytime but lowered only once a week.
You can pay for deed only from your bank money, and this extends the amount of time upkeep lasts.

Upkeep timetable per coin for size 10 homestead deed

Light Medium Heavy
1 Iron 0d/0h/0m 0d/0h/0m 0d/0h/0m
1 Copper 0d/0h/42m 0d/0h/8m 0d/0h/7m
1 Silver 2d/21h/43m 0d/22h/30m 0d/14h/31m

Cost

Note: Buying a deed higher then size 5 is kind of usless, as all the deeds can only hold 1 member and are the same cost as a village deed.

  • Size 5 = 5 silver
  • Size 10 = 1 gold
  • Size 15 = 2gold 25silver
  • Size 20 = 4 gold
  • Size 30 = 9gold
  • Size 40 = 16gold
  • Size 50 = 25 gold
  • Size 70 = 49gold
  • Size 100 = 100 Gold
  • Size 200 = 400Gold

Citizens

All sizes of homesteads can only hold 1 citizen, the mayor/deed holder.

Advantages

Respawn after death

This is probably the single biggest advantage to deeds, and is what allows players to spread out from the starting area. Citizens of a deed get the option to respawn at their deed after death, rather than just at Newtown. Further, if the deed has an alliance with another deed, citizens also get the option to respawn at those towns too.

Guards

All Deeds come with at least some guards which help protect you from thieves, raiders & wild animals.

Slowed Decay Rates

Fences and buildings decay at slower rates on deeded areas.

Village Chat

People belonging to a Village get their own group chat called Village Chat. It works much the same as local chat where you can see the people who you can talk to, except that you can talk to your fellow villagers from anywhere in the world, they do not have to be in your local area.

Control over the area

Homestead deeds only have 1 citizen, the mayor, but the mayor can allow allies to be able to do things. But allowing allies to do certain things allows ANY other ally to do the same stuff, so be careful what you allow them to do. Anything on the deed can be made illegal by the mayor, such as digging, mining, cutting trees, and picking up items.

Death

When a player dies on a deed of the same kingdom, they will only lose 0.02 from the normal 0.25. If you are an ally of a deed, you are allowed to spawn at any allied location, or that deed, if you own the deed, you are able to spawn at the token of the deed.

Reputations

The deed owner (and elders) also has control over reputations on the deed. If the deed owner has reason to distrust a certain person, he can set their reputation to a negative number. A person with -30 to -100 gets attacked by the guards automatically, wether they are of the same kingdom or not.

Also, a person who has earned a bad reputation by stealing will automatically get attacked by the guards. to see your reputation, type /reputation into your chat window and press enter.

Banks

A bank offers several advantages. Most importantly, it offers absolute security to items and money. Only the player who deposits in his or her bank can retrieve from the bank. A bank has 2 sections.

Item storage:

Up to 5 items of any size (as long as they can be carried in inventory) can be stored in a bank. You are not able to store containers with items in it. Decay rates are minimal to none and the items are only accessable by the account owner. Items can only be retireved from the current location of the bank, unless you transfer the bank to a new token which take 3 real life hours. You do not have to be a village member to have a bank at a token.

Money storage:

You can deposit all your money in a bank. (there is no interest or tax on bank acounts). Your money can be withdrawn from any token. but you can not deposit money anywhere other than the banks location. So if you go to buy something from a friend at another village, there is no need to risk losing the money along the way.

Leaving the World

If you are the owner or an ally of the deed, you will log out in 0 seconds while on this deed, unless you have fought or done something illeage recently. To check when you will log out, type /lotime ingame.
