Higher quality items are more valuable both functionally and economically. A higher number will produce a significantly lower decay rate for the item. Unfortunately, when an item receives damage and must be repaired, a portion of the quality of that item is lost. A higher repair skill lessens the tax on an item's quality in the repair phase.
