Drowning is when a player reaches zero stamina while swimming (on water tiles). Drowning will incur a stacking light wound at random intervals (20-50 sec) on the player's stomach while they continue to swim with zero stamina.
Drowning damage is only incurred while the player is moving; standing still in water does not cause drowning wounds.
Drowning wounds are listed as water damage and are untreatable, but they always disappear after a few minutes out of the water, regardless of wound severity. Note that drowning wounds do not heal while in the water, and bad/severe wounds will get worse over time if you are stuck in the water.
Drowning damage can be prevented through use of the Path of Power bonus Elemental Immunity.
Drowning can be prevented if you can't climb out of the water due to low stamina. Try using Last Gasp.
