Description
Lava spiders usually lurk in their lava pools, catching curious prey.
Lava spider is a huge animal with eight legs and a light red color to it. It also appears to be on fire. They often spawn in caves.
- Clawing and biting attacks. Clawing as a primary attack.
- 8 tile eye sight (it will only attack you if you are less than 8 tiles away)
- Can bash walls.
- Slower than regular huge spider.
Fighting Tips
A full set of leather armor is the bare minimum for fighting lava spiders at lower fighting skill levels.
Chain/plate armour is more suitable when facing a spider or any other animal that bites.
Lava spiders should generally not be attempted until over 20 FS. This is dependent on skills such as weapon skill and shield skill, as well as the quality of the equipment being used (armors and weapons).
Generally a 40-50ql armor set with a 50ql weapon and a player with 20FS can kill a normal lava spider if they keep their focus level up. Mauls work especially well on spiders.
Always attempt to gain optimum footing whenever possible. Fighting on a horse is an excellent way of doing this.
Phobia
Spider graphics can be turned into Blobs for those suffering from arachnophobia. To change this enable Phobia Mode in advanced graphics before entering Wurm.
