Avalon was first started as the mystic sister village of Mist, way back in early beta in the map called the "Religion Map". This map was the first introduction of religion to wurm. Originally founded by Barakus, Avalon survived numerous maps and still survives today under the Mayorship of Barakus. Over the years there have been some usurpers that on occasion have taken advantage of map change to gain control of Avalon, but patience prevailed and it is once again back in its founders hands.
