Tips
- The entire quantity of lye is used when making leather regardless of weight.
- A pottery flask with 1 potato and 4 corn in it will hold additional ~0,005kg lye. Keep the lye in a pottery jar or waterskin and fill the flask from there as needed. This way precious high ql lye will last very long.
- An alternative is to have 2 pottery flasks, one empty and one with 1 garlic. Filling the empty one first then transferring it to the 2nd leaves an almost zero quantity to the first. Depending on what seed has the smallest volume it could be even less. This method used with a garlic results in ~0,001kg of lye.
- When using 0.10kg pieces of ash the amount of water can be 1.00kg to 1.90kg to create 1.10kg to 2.00kg of lye. Using 2.00kg water or more will result in 1.00kg of lye only.
- To get the best ratio to create lye put 3 garlic and 4 barley in a pottery flask then drag the 2.00 water from a pottery jar to the flask to leave 1.90 water in the pottery jar.
Questions
