Main / Game mechanics / Activate
Activating is done by double-clicking the left mouse button on the desired name label in the inventory list, or by hovering your mouse over it and using the activate keybind command. This will activate the item, turning its name bright green, and the status bar at the bottom of the inventory window will display "Activated: Item".
