Description
A milky and oily grey liquid. It has a strong pungent odor that burns your nostrils. It has a benevolent aura. Can help convert a <tile type> tile to a <tile type> tile.
Transmutation liquids are used to change one type of tile into another type of tile. They are most often used to create convenient sources of uncommon resources (such as tar, peat or clay) on or close to players' deeds, or to revert such resources to dirt to allow building or paving.
Transmutation liquids can be passive or active. Any priest can make a passive liquid active with the Bless spell. Only active liquids can transmute tiles.
For the 2009 Christmas gift, please see Transmutation liquid (Gift)
Usage
Activate the Active liquid, right-click on the tile and select Use.
The amount of liquid you need to transmute a tile is dependent on the quality of the liquid, which server you are on, whether the tile is on-deed, and whether you are a citizen of that deed, as outlined below. It can take a lot of liquid to fully transmute a tile, and you can examine the tile if you're unsure how far along the process is.
Quantity Needed
Transmutes | Liquid | Solid | Quantity needed per tile (baseline) |
---|---|---|---|
Sand tile to clay tile | 0.05 kg Apple juice | 0.5 kg Tin lump | (6700/liquid QL) * 0.5 |
Grass tile/Mycelium tile to peat tile | 0.05 kg Lemon juice | 0.5 kg Charcoal | (6700/liquid QL) * 0.5 |
Steppe tile to tar tile | 0.05 kg Cherry juice | 1.0 kg Iron lump | (6700/liquid QL) * 1 |
Clay tile to dirt tile | 0.05 kg Lemon juice | 1.0 kg Zinc lump | (6700/liquid QL) * 1 |
Peat tile to dirt tile | 0.05 kg Cherry juice | 0.3 kg Moss | (6700/liquid QL) * 0.3 |
Tar tile to dirt tile | 0.05 kg Apple juice | 1.0 kg Lead lump | (6700/liquid QL) * 1 |
Moss tile to tundra tile | 0.05 kg Orange juice | 1.0 kg Copper lump | (1340/liquid QL) * 1 |
Quantity Modifiers
- Tiles on a deed that you are a citizen of, on PvE servers, require the baseline amount of liquid listed above.
- Tiles off-deed on PvE servers require 50% more liquid than the baseline amount.
- Tiles on PvP servers require 50% more liquid than the baseline amount.
- Tiles on a deed you are not a citizen of, on a PvE server, require twice as much liquid as normal.
- Tiles that have previously been transmuted need 50% less liquid to transmute again. You can examine the tile to determine whether a tile has been transmuted before.
- For the purposes of the above, tiles within deed perimeters count as "on-deed" too.
Creation Notes
- During creation, using multiple quantities of the required solid together with more liquid results in larger amounts of inactive transmutation liquid from a single action.
- The required solid does not need to be combined in order to create larger amounts.
- Metal lumps do not need to be hot.
- Splitting active transformation liquids when moving a portion to a new container causes the moved portion to revert to passive transformation liquid. Moving the entire quantity at once retains the active status.
- Transmutation liquid on Epic has a higher difficulty, and requires more material to create.
- Only the same types of transmutation liquid can be combined.
- The format for the examine text is different depending on the liquid. The first and second sentence are the same for all of them. The third sentence determines if it is blessed or not. For example, passive (non-blessed) liquids give the examine text A milky and oily grey liquid. It has a strong pungent odor that burns your nostrils. Once blessed can help convert a sand tile to a clay tile. compared to the active (blessed) liquid giving the examine text A milky and oily grey liquid. It has a strong pungent odor that burns your nostrils. It bears an aura of xxx. Can help convert a sand tile to a clay tile. , with xxx being the deity that cast bless on it.
Usage Notes
- Only active (blessed) liquids can transmute tiles.
- Deity spell casting permission is needed for use on deed.
- If using multiple batches of transmutation fluid, all fractions are lost, which may result in the tile only going to 99% changeover. Further use of fluid on the tile would then be needed in order for it to be 100% converted to the tile type of choice. Terraforming of the tile before it is fully converted will reset the conversion back to 0%.
- It can be used on Chaos & Defiance. This comes with a restriction that you need 5 tiles around it in every direction not be clay/tar/peat/tundra.
- Liquids are effective on submerged tiles.
Messages
- When examining the tile:
- Someone has started transforming this tile.
- The tile is over a quarter transformed.
- The tile is over half way transformed.
- The tile is over three quarters transformed.
- The tile has almost been completely transformed.
- The tile is so close to being completely transformed.
- Yeah! You changed the Sand tile to Clay!
- The tile has been transformed before.
