Description
Lockpicking is the skill used when picking locks with a lockpick, such as large and small padlocks on chests, door locks and gate locks.
When you pick open a chest, you will receive the lock in your inventory (not the key) and the chest will be unlocked. When you pick open a house door lock or gate lock, the lock stays attached and will remain unlocked for 10 minutes Wurm time. Examining the gate or door will reveal how much time remains.
On each attempt, regardless of fail or success, you will either destroy or damage the lockpick.
The success rate of lockpicking is effected by the quality of the lockpick, the lockpicking skill and for a minor degree it's parent skill thievery. The quality also affects the chances of the lockpick just outright breaking
High quality locks will prevent any lockpicking attempt with lockpicks that are too low in relative quality.
Notes
- Locksmithing is the skill used to make lockpicks.
