Description
Alignment is a measure of how good you are to your god, 100 alignment being maxium for Fo, Vynora and Magranon, -100 for Libila. When having below 1 alignment, you cannot choose any of the White Light Gods. For priests, a high alignment value increases chances to successfully cast spells while a low alignment value lowers the chances.
There are many things that can affect your alignment. Butchering a human corpse is a great way to start the journey to the negative alignments. You lose 5 alignment for each corpse. Burying a human corpse on the other hand, increases your alignment. You gain 6 points towards your alignment for burying a human corpse.
It also seems that alignment naturally grow over time, probably when you don't do any illegal actions.
