Four kingdoms exist in the story of Wurm, of which 3 are on the wild server, and 1 on the freedom server. All 3 kingdoms of the wild server are at war with each other.

On the freedom server there is only one kingdom and therefore, no conflicts of any sort occur. There is no need to claim land for your kingdom, however on the wild server land must be claimed for the kingdom by building guard towers. When a guard tower is created it claims the land around it for the kingdom and it is then possible to build a settlement there.

Wild server kingdoms

If a player wishes to change their kingdom, they must be invited to join by a member of that kingdom (Or go to the bone altar for HOTS). All three kingdoms on the wild server are at war with each other for different reasons. The MR vs. JK conflict is over land and power (this is set to be the main conflict) and the MR, JK vs. HOTS is over religion (aka WL vs BL), this is set to be a smaller conflict.
