Exorcism is the skill used when you attempt to destroy an altar.

High skill increases your success rate. Failing to desecrate an altar can result in wounds with both poison and rotting touch characteristics.

Championhood will raise this skill by 50 points, to a maximum of 80.

Followers of any deity need at least 10 faith to attempt a desecrate action.
