Do you have some quote for this? I've seen logs of Rolf stating that they give you a small skillgain bonus.

I got it from the new blog, http://wurmdev.blogspot.com/. Specifically the part that says, "Right now there is no end functionality for affinities - you don't become the One like in Bladerunner... Yet! ". But I suppose I may have misread.
