Description
A large kiln-like pile made from logs and covered in dirt. The purpose is to turn the logs into tar, ash, and charcoal.
Usage
After finished, light the pile with your steel and flint and a kindling in your inventory. The pile will slowly damage and create charcoal, tar and ash. A pile will burn for one to two days, accumulating charcoal over time. The higher the QL, the longer the pile will burn. The pile products can be removed at any time without harm to further charcoal, tar and ash production.
Notes
- The quality of the kindling affects the chance of creating a charcoal pile. The log and dirt will affect the rate of increase in quality of the pile when building, according to your coal-making skill. The quality level is not limited by skill, it is limited by the quality of the components added. A quality 20 pile will yield approximately 14 tar, coal and ash.
- Cedarwood piles burn slower. Oakenwood piles burn slower and produce more charcoal
- Ash decays inside the pile as it burns.
- Multiple kindling can be combined as only the amount required during creation is used.
