Hatchet works. Tried using a large axe, didn't work. Probably not going to work with other axes either, but doesn't hurt to try. - Dashiva 17:54, 2 May 2008 (CDT)

In the description it talks about the keel being destroyed on a failed creation attemp, and although it is related to a keel section, this only happens when making a ship. A failed creation attempt on the keel section just results in wood scraps 1 @ 30, and 1 @ 60.

Perhaps this would be a possible way of showing it... see table.

Skill

Confirmed to use ship building. - Dashiva 20:12, 25 November 2008 (CST)

Notes

I was building a Corbita today. I found that what the wikki is saying is wrong when attaching the two keel sections I found it to be this way instead:

  • The quality of the passive keel section affects the initial quality of the ship.
  • The quality of the active keel section affects the success chance when creating a ship.
  • The active keel section is lost when you fail creating a ship.

Can anyone confirm this before I change it?

Active keel section QL11.43, passive QL4.69
  • Cog; 13%
  • Corbita: 24% (failed creating btw, the QL4.69 was damaged, the QL11.43 was lost)
  • Small sailing boat: 37%
  • Small rowing boat: 55%
Active keel section QL4.69, passive QL11.43
  • Cog: 11%
  • Corbita: 21%
  • Small sailing boat: 33%
  • Small rowing boat: 50%
Looks like it's correct to me. Maybe you're confusing something? Tired? :)
LOL sorry... you had me confused now, but yea... you're right, it's always been like you said, with every ship. So I checked the article history and I just refined the old article ealier, which was already wrong.
On a second thought, no... I remember that the passive one used to affect the success chance. It was a pain when I made my first corbita back then in november or september... and I didn't worry too much about the active section at all. Anyway, you're confirmed, even though this change is weird and came unnoticed *shakes fist at User:Rolf* :P

  • yea, i remember that it was the passive one that affected chance when i was making my cog. but when i was making a the rig some time later it was the active item (mast) affecting chance. Norill
