FullKonTacT's easy digging guide.
Two simple rules; Steep toward, you're on low, drop dirt Steep Away, you're on high, dig dirt
Digging to make a flat tile.
i) Exmine the 'border tiles' The will tell you one of three things. The slope is ?? dirts steep toward you. The slope is ?? dirts steep away from you. The slope is level.
ii) Understanding the slope. When the slop is toward you, you're standing on the lowest part of that slope. When the slope is away from you, you're standing on the highest part of that slope. Then the slope is level you don't need to do any work.
iii)Working with the slope. Examine two border edges, and stand in the corner of the tile. When digging you dig from the corner, imagine the tile is split into quarters, four different sections. Stand in a corner, find the highest point, so you want to be at the point where both border tiles give you "The slope is ?? dirts steep away from you." Every time you dig, you remove 1 dirt. Don't drop this, if you drop it, it will add it back to where you dug it from.
iv) Right, now you should have a handful of dirt and the border edges should say "This slope is level." or it might still say "The slope is ?? dirts steep away from you." If it continues to say the second you want to move to the corner next to the one you dug from, drop the amount of dirt it says is too steep. This should now give you at least 1 level border tile.
Repeat Each stage until all four 'border tiles' give you the message "The slope is level." When you have that. Pack the dirt hard so you remember where you have worked.
