Spices/herbs seem optional in many cases. Mapping out some non-herb recipes. - Dashiva 11:46, 10 September 2006 (CDT)

  • ( Fish | Cooked meat ) + Onion
  • Cooked meat + Corn

And some that didn't work:

  • Cooked meat + Bread (worked with added strawberry, blueberry, thyme)

So the difficulties i see means u get better skill when u cook in forge? so we better heat items in oven then combine them and make them meal in forge! Judgemaik 03:02, 5 April 2007 (CDT)

Edited out the outdated meal table. Saving it here in case anyone has reason to disagree:

Difficulties in inventory:

Seed means either: potato, pumpkin, corn, or any grain
Herb means either: Basil, Belladonna, Lovage, Oregano, Parsley, Rosemary, Sage, Sassafras, Thyme, Nettles or Garlic
Forageble means 0.20 weight foraged items and also tree fruits --Gradir 12:31, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

New changes?

I tried to create a meal today and failed:

  • Cooked meat + onion = stew
  • Filet of cooked meat + onion = stew
  • Filet of cooked meat + potato = meal

Did something change within the last 1-2 days?

Yeah. Onion do not create meals anymore. But it's listed as a bug and will be fixed next patch. --Ago 00:24, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
Has been fixed. Cooked meat + onion creates a meal again. --Naboto 16:52, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

meal decays

blgpapa

i did experiment with meal decay, so i have taken the liberty to update the page with my finding about the barrel + salt + water thing

Decay Prevention

Discussion: Meals with salt

Moved from the main article as this requires more testing:

  • A common myth is that water, salt, or water plus salt will decrease the decay rate of meals in a barrel, but this has been proven to be false.
  • Salt cooked into meals halves the damage of a decay tick on the meal. Experimentation on identical meals (one with salt, one without) stored in a bucket inside a building (no water in the bucket) has resulted in the following results:

10.0 QL meal with salt Day 0 = 0.0 damage Day 1 = 0.0 damage Day 3 = 60.0 damage

10.0 QL meal without salt Day 0 = 0.0 damage Day 1 = 0.0 damage Day 3 = 0.0 damage
