General Information

Shantytown was an undeeded settlement located on the Wild Server. It was primarily known as a camp for refugees who haven't managed to settle in the Pirate Outpost. Shantytown was an independent village, only geographically associated with Pirate Outpost. Its full name was "People's Socialist Republic of Shantytown". However, the full name was used only in case of declaring wars, signing peace treaties and creating alliances. Shantytown is a peaceful Jenn-Kellon settlement, often described as "Newtown of Wild". Inhabitants of the village were always helpful, and always ready to aid newcomers.

After Milp had decided to move onto a bigger project and moved away, most of the Shantytown citizens had already moved to other settlements. Often deeded unlike Shantytown. Milp and Sentinelxs had decided to work on the New Prypjat project.

Location

Shantytown was conveniently located in the north most tundra on the Wild map. The terrain around Shantytown was relatively free of trees, although the tundra was (and still is) surrounded with great pines and other fruit trees. Shantytown now lies in ruin, with the outlines of buildings and winding paths stretching across the tundra. Milp created his New Prypjat just south of the old location. Then Milp built his empire in the tundra making sure to preserve the location of Shantytown. Now Shantytown the tundra is being actively worked and walled off so that it may be preserved, protected and hunted privately.

Conditions

Conditions in Shantytown were horrid. The settlement was covered in pits and valleys that were created by the new players and citizens of Shantytown. The same issue occurred in mines with there being winding paths and huge plummets including the entrance. Although space and help was given by the carefree citizens and leaders, the issue of food was huge, although Milp promised food, the citizens were often without food. Water was abundant as well but citizens had to walk down a very long mineshaft to get to it.

Another problem that arrised was that citizens were unequipped for certain tasks. Such as making food. During one great chapter in history the citizens of Shantytown were told that no food would be supplied until a large wall was errected all the way around Shantytown. Some of the citizens complied with the order and started to make the wall. Others were angry with this order and rejected it. This created some problems when all the citizens had no food to eat and could not work. So the great event started where every able bodied man in Shantytown was helping make the devices and items required to make food. They stole a Large Anvil from an abandoned house in town, and began mining the ore in order to make a cauldron. The idea was to make soup, enought for everyone in the town. With some fine crafting skills from Sentinelxs the had made a cauldron. Scrounged meat and water from the local fountain were added and 1QL soup was produced.

  • Helmetsnipe

During the last weeks of Shantytown's occupation, citizens from Pirate Outpost had been causing grief and general chaos. Citizens of Shantytown had taken offense and also had taken action against them. At one point raiding them and doing damage to their town, stealing and looting the town. After this both settlements had become enemy.
