The beginning
I remember waking up confused on an unknown shore. My head was pounding. Images kept flashing into my head and it took all of my strength just to not vomit from the intensity.
Laying on my back with my eyes closed I attempted to sort through my thoughts. I remembered smithing the previous day in my house at Eden and then going to sleep later that night. What had happened in between then? Had the Gods once again decided this body was unworthy of my soul and transferred me to another one? I opened my eyes slowly and stood up. My body felt stronger than usual. I felt quicker and smarter as well. My brain raced with the thoughts of tinkering and toiling with my tools back home. I hurried to my place and lit the forge. A couple minutes later I was hammering iron in a way that I had never done so before, and even though it was foreign to my eyes, it somehow felt familiar in my heart. My hand instinctively knew how to twist and turn the lump into the shapes I wanted. I stopped and sat down. This was too much for me to take in all at once.
After a few minutes I threw on my armor and grabbed a few weapons and ran to the north woods. With my head still throbbing, I looked for the nearest beast to kill. I didn't have to search long for a giant greenish spider jumped from the oak tree in front of me and I barely rolled out of the way. The beast let out a sickening screech and came in for another attack. Once again trusting my body I ran towards it as well. The great beast tried to slash me with its many claws but I parried and dodged them as if they were nothing and with two loud crunches I brought down all my furry upon the giant spiders head and it collapsed in a heap. I wiped the sweat from my brow and started walking back home. I looked at my hands and smiled to myself. This new body was the best one yet. I was excited to find its limits, if it had any...
