Towers spawn at least one guard no matter the quality
I have removed this information from the Guard tower page:
It would seem that this is incorrect as sub 10ql towers do not seem to be spawning guards.

Tower guards don`t respond below -30 , same as the spirit Templar

Range
I've been testing and it seems guard response range is exactly 20 tiles. However only one guard answered per call on this distance. Aldur (talk) 10:25, 1 July 2012 (CDT)Aldur
Positioning

I stood in the north east corner of E, facing I, when I attached the last component. The tower was created on "E" with the door facing "F". This does not coincide with what the wiki page says will happen when you finish a tower. If someone else could try a different position while creating their guard tower, just to test, we might be able to explain conclusively how to place a tower as desired.
